Can anyone please post any success stories about conceiving despite issues with their DPs sperm? Mine has poor morphology (less than 2% normal) and we're trying Fertilaid. I'd love to hear that other people got their BFPs despite these issues to help keep my optimism alive! Otherwise I'm happy to support others on the same journey. Thank you in advance.

Do you guys exercise? And if so do you exercise in your 2ww? Around implantation time? I'm gaining weight (I'm normally fairly fit) as I'm not doing much thinking I'll give any egg the best shot at implanting but I know everyone says it makes no difference. And now it's been nearly a year I'm becoming more aware you can't put everything on hold but I want our chances to be the best they can be!! Anyone else in 2ww?

I exercise and live completely normally as there's no such thing as a 2 ww for me anymore. I've accepted that we will never get pregnant without treatment so for now I guess you could say we're not ttc although we are as we're having lots of unprotected sex but it's not timed, there's no peeing on sticks or taking temps and no 2ww. To be Honest all of that drove me almost crazy so it's the one good thing of being so infertile 😜

geeup · 21/04/2016 15:35

I'm really sorry to hear that mrsdarcy but your approach is inspiring. I am definitely slipping down the slippery slope of obsessing so its a good reminder not to put my life on hold for something that may well not happen naturally. Problem with us is that we're not 100% sure yet. Depends who we listen to!

Hi geeup, I don't do too much heavy exercise, I just generally walk alot. I think right now anything that even makes us feel slightly normal is got to be better then all the over thinking. Etc. I'm currently 2days past missed period, this month as got to have been the worst so far. I had spotting 8days past ovulation and a triphasic pattern on my chart,so I was really hopeful. Two BFNs put an end to that, I feel like it's been coming all week but I wish it would just put me out of my misery.
Mrs Darcy, I really admire your courage to be able to let go for now. I and I'm sure my husband both wish I could, (he's far better then it then me) maybe this is something I should start concentrating on. It's took over my life so much and im certainly not a better person for it. :-(.

Thanks star, that's very helpful I'm much the same not much ewcm just watery. I will try evening primrose oil. Soon I will be rattling when I walk. Grin

It certainly took a long time for me to be like this. I had 2 months off work and counselling, changed jobs completely as i was working in child protection. But, we are now 2 and a half years in of TTc so i am finally able to have a life again. I still have the plan of treatment in mind and think about it a lot and am under going tests etc so i am by no means completely relaxed but its much better for my mental health to not be obsessive like i was. But it took me a while to get to this place and some pretty dire sperm analysis results. It doesnt matter when we time the sex - those boys just can't swim :)

Mrs Darcy, It's no surprise you changed jobs, that must of been a bad place to be when you have so much love to give. I really need to find that place too, so might ask about counselling, however i don't know how i feel about it either.

I've just back from holiday and I've had an update by post , so I thought I'd share. The X-rays confirm both tubes are open etc. MY ultrasound suggest I may have a small variation, termed as subseptate uterus (which apparently doesn't stop me conceiving but makes miscarriage more likely) and both ovaries are normal. The letter also says she will see me in the gynaecology clinic for a referral to IVF.
I assumed we would of tried other things before a straight referral for Ivf. I really can't decide if I'm happy or sad .

sorry about sending it multiple times , oh dear :-)

geeup · 25/04/2016 10:02

Sounds like good news friends. At least you're moving through the process which gives you options. I'm 10 dpo and feeling periody :( desperately hoping this that month could be our month though as three months ago hubbie did dry January and started all the fertilaid etc. And that's how long it takes for sperm to regenerate right? fingers crossed and all that...

Hello ladies, sorry for the silence. That does sound like good news friends that things dont look bad for you. Remind me, what was your male factor issue again? We've been trying for 18 months now and got referred after 11 months. We have our second NHS consultation next week and I think we'll be starting ivf a couple of months after that. I was surprised when she mentioned ivf so early on, but the thing is you do have months to try naturally before the date actually comes round. I really didn't want to have to do ivf and I'm getting really anxious about this appointment, but I'm also sick of the disappointment every month as nothing seems to be helping.

In terms of exercise, I still play netball once a week and cycle to work a few times a week. I basically behave as though I'm not pregnant (which I never am!) and will drink during the two week wait if I fancy it.

Geeup, any news?? I was hopeful this month too as we've now been on proxeed since Jan and this is the first cycle since the full 3 month course was completed. However, I'm 8dpo and don't have a single symptom. No cramps and not even the usual sore boobs I get, Im starting to think I didn't even ovulate this cycle Sad

star1980 · 28/04/2016 16:45

Sorry friends, just read your msg from last week about the triphasic chart and late af. Any good news? Did af stay away???

friends123 · 29/04/2016 16:06

Hi star,

I'm not sure what our problem is, as soo far we've been told it won't be OH's sperm. even though first test had only 10,500 count with 0.8% morphology. His second was better at 21,000 count with 2% morphology. They've found nothing with me though. We went to the doctors after 12 months but it took them another 14 before they would refer me ( it was only me who was referred my oh didn't have to attend) We are now on our 27th month of trying.
I had a complete break down when I received the letter, I just never thought it would come to this i didn't/don't want to go through IVF. We've not even told a single person that we are trying or that we have been having problems.
Unfortunately my triphasic pattern etc was all a fluke. Although I don't know what went on that month as ff had thought I ovulated,so technically I was 4 days late, or maybe I actually didn't ovulate when I thought I did. My temperature is pretty erratic.
We have our second consultation on the 2nd of June so it seems were in similar places.
geeup, how did you get on, hope af stayed away and at least one of us gets some good news:).
