If so, please join the club. Let's keep each other going!

In our case, we're going abroad for ours - Norway. What about you?

Everhopeful you are not asking the right person.... but let me ask you this - do you have FRER to test with? If not I would say NO!!!!

Everhopeful76 · 23/03/2016 21:12

What is FRER?

Kwick709 · 23/03/2016 21:29

OMG!!! I do apologise - I have not been a good teacher!!!! FRER is First Response Early Response - it is a home pregnancy test (HPT) that I have found to be very reliable - it also is one of the best for detecting early BFPs. If you are going to invest in HPTs then these are the ones that I recommend*

  • and I definitely do not work for them...but feel I would rather like to buy shares in the company that makes them Grin
Everhopeful76 · 23/03/2016 21:45

oh right I did wonder if that was First Response. I ve used Clear Blue in the past
So no, currently I just have those cheapie strips, which gave me a negative back on Sunday morning, but that was supremely early
However I have just learned that if I am up the duff, then my pregnancy would be dated at 4 weeks nw with the baby being the size of a poppy seed!! Grand

muddyboots · 24/03/2016 00:31

I am feeling great. So glad to have my own hormones back and have had a period.
How are you doing GoingCrazy? Any news?

I took the day off after my egg collection and I'm glad I did. I was fine on the day, but it was sore to laugh or cough the next day. My clinic said I wouldn't be insured to drive for 24 hours so I figured that applied to looking after other people too (I'm a nurse). I suppose it depends on what you do for a living - and how much you need to laugh or cough. I think the rude Consultant I saw said that they expect the follicles to increase by 2mm every 24 hours NotSpartacus, but don't know if that was just me or if it's the same for everyone.

Goingcrazy53 · 24/03/2016 09:22

Muddyboots** it's not going well for me I'm afraid. I started bleeding yesterday, test day tomorrow. My previous cycles all ended this way too (af arriving a couple of days before test day). Whilst it's not heavy yet, I think it's pretty much over for me...I'll know for certain tomorrow.

LHReturns · 24/03/2016 10:03

Had the call - only one of my five eggs has fertilised normally. One abnormally and rest not as yet (and late fertilisations rare) so must assume only one shitty day 1 embryo to go in freezer.

Trying not to cry and about to have to present for two hours in very important meeting.

Will someone say something positive? Kwick - talk to me?

Fxxkety, fxxkety, fxxkety, fxxkety FUCKERS. Eggs, get off your lazy 40 year old asses and DO something.

NotSpartacus · 24/03/2016 17:32

Hi LHreturns I'm sorry things are not going as you had wanted and I know it must be really awful to have that on your mind at work. Have hope - one embryo is still a chance.

Goingcrazy53 sorry that it looks like a BFN, is the bleeding heavy or just a bit? Have they had you on progesterone etc?

Nothing exciting going on here. They took my blood again and I have to up the fostimon dose again. Follies have grown on the scan, although not that fast, so maybe they need more hormones for them to develop. Spent today with my kids, as our au pair has gone home for Easter, which has been lovely. Now not back at work until the middle of next week, by which time hopefully my eggs will have been collected. Really the timing of this cycle has been great, I just hope the results are.

Everhopeful I am in two minds about early testing. On the one hand I like to know what's what, so there is barely a pregnancy test left in North London that I have not peed on at some stage (i actually went so far a few years ago as to research which companies own the businesses making HPTs so I could buy shares... But never got around to actioning it!). On the other, having had a lot of negative tests over the years, I reckon I would like to luxuriate in the possibility of being pregnant for as long as possible at the end of this cycle. Test day will come soon enough and testing early won't change the outcome. Good luck, whatever you decide.

Is everyone else ok?

Kwick709 · 24/03/2016 18:01

LHreturns all you need is one - I am proof of that! Also I think your chnaces are upped if you have FET. I am sorry you are disappointed but I think that to be able to freeze one is good news - it could have been none, also you still have a chance, albeit slim, with the ones that have jot yet embraced the magic potion.

goingcrazy could it be implantation bleed? You are not out until you are out.

notspartacus it is like you read my mind - investigating companies! Who owns FRER? Now remember to drink copius amounts of milk!

Ladies you are all in my thoughts and I am sending PMA your way Flowers

Everhopeful76 · 24/03/2016 18:24

Hi guys

Not Spartacus - think you re right. I will try not to. Have bought the tests today tho
GoingCrazy - sorry my lovely. but hope the result will be a nice surprise and things will settle dwn

Am really not feeling too well today, awful nausea and localised soreness from the cyclogest pessaries. Worried its causing me a UTI.Its got to be too early to be having morning sickness, but its playing headfuck on me!! Waiting on my Consultant PA to ring me back to give me more progesterone if I am pregnant and need to carry on with this luteal support. Apparently could only have injections as an alternative at much higher cost. The irritation has only worsened in the last day or so. So am madly drinking water and cranberry juice and trying to rest.

Kwick709 · 24/03/2016 19:21

Oh dear just had major bleeding from Prontogest injection... Note to self: inject next time with mirror to hand so can assess post stabbing bleed. I am gong to have to start injecting in my legs also as I am just so sore.

Kwick709 · 24/03/2016 19:34

Apologies if this is a bit too "in your face" but this helped me a lot this cycle - all the way through IVF:

NotSpartacus · 25/03/2016 06:44

Kwick there's a sub cutaneous progesterone (Lubion) available now, they sell it on fertility2u. I mentioned it to my consultant the other day. Don't think they use it at CRGH yet - it is pretty new, but maybe you could ask them to look into it. It's also water based, so less oil related lumpiness...

goinggrey1978 · 25/03/2016 08:18

hi everyone i'm off on holiday today, not sure if i'll be online or not, going to be sleeping, resting and catching sea air, may also get called to clinic for implantation at the end of the week, so may have to do a long road from norfolk to london, expecting a phone call on monday!
everyone keep positive and i'll catch up with you all soon
one question before i disappear, do i take the baby aspirin from implantation or the day before??

Kwick709 · 25/03/2016 08:33

I took the aspirin from ET. And don't forget the pineapple!

goinggrey1978 · 25/03/2016 10:15

Kwick709 thanks, i just had a call from the clinic and donor lady is doing very well, egg collection is set for tuesday, so i will take the pessaries from then too, exciting! whats the pineapple for??

NotSpartacus · 25/03/2016 10:22

Ooooh that's exciting Goinggrey. Not sure when my EC will be yet but am hoping for Tuesday too. Follicles were mostly12mm yesterday, so hopefully will be nearing 16 by tomorrow's scan and then we should be good to go!
Pineapple(particularly the core) is supposed to aid implantation. Not sure why. Fortunately I love it in my smoothie!

Kwick709 · 25/03/2016 12:18

GoingGrey this is encouraging news!

Notspartacus whole organic milk all the way for you now - I am convinced it helps with follicle growth Wink

Pineapple contains a vitamin/mineral that is said to aid with implantation. What I did was but a fresh pineapple, peeled it and then cut it into to five slices - including the core as this has loads of the good stuff - and ate a slice a day from ET.

Other things I did:

  • tried to keep my feet and kidneys warm at all times - UGGs are my new best friends
  • ate as must cayenne pepper as I could stand (not much) - this is said to draw blood to womble area which is good for implantation
  • continued to eat walnuts, brazil nuts, sweet potatoes - all fertility boosting
  • took it easy
  • no bathing (just showers) - decreases chance of an infection
  • significantly reduced milk in-take (as can impeded implantation)
  • had lots of Pukka 3 cinnamon tea - I love the stuff and cinnamon is said to aid fertility

Best of luck!!!!!!

Everhopeful76 · 25/03/2016 19:06

Goingcrazy - how did you get on?

And wow to all the dietary stuff. I was really good at fertility diet to the point I got to EC and then its tailed off but all in essence I haven't eaten that much because I ve felt bloated, so an occasional piece of cake I thought it cant hurt
I have been eating pineapple and keeping up veg intake tho

Happy holiday weekend folks xx

Everhopeful76 · 27/03/2016 20:32

Hi guys
Thought I d let you know I got a BFP on a FRER this eve!!! So exciting, cant believe it. Have been putting this test off all day because was scared of the outcome but the result was a very clear double line.
How is everyone else doing? Hope your getting a lot of R&R in Norfolk Goinggrey. I love Norfolk, go there a lot.
Kwik - are you following a specific diet for early pregnancy? I ve got to see my GP pronto about getting my thyroid levels checked. My Consultant has given me a double dose of cyclogest

Chattycat78 · 27/03/2016 20:49

Just de lurking to say congrats Ever! That's truly amazing news! Fingers crossed for you!

GlummyMummy · 27/03/2016 21:07

great news Everhopeful76! That explains those symptoms then!!! :-)

NotSpartacus · 27/03/2016 21:56

That's really great, Ever. Huge congratulations.

Final (I hope) scan and bloods for me tomorrow, with EC likely to be Wednesday. I am now really bloated! Let's hope there are some decent eggs in there...

Everhopeful76 · 28/03/2016 08:01

Hi Chattycat - thanks for delurking, lovely to hear from you. Hope your pregnancy is going well?. I remember you as a fellow low amh'er on a "thread" from a while back.Proof that it can be done, however negative Drs can be. Obviously am 2 mins pregnant and have a long way to go.

Thanks NotSpartacus - I hope you are not too uncomfortable.... but bloated I just hope means lots of even follicles and translating to lots of eggs. Its still Easter after all!!!

Thanks Glummymummy - what's next for you, hw are you feeling?

Honeybee79 · 28/03/2016 08:26

Ever that is amazing news!! Congrats.
