If so, please join the club. Let's keep each other going!

In our case, we're going abroad for ours - Norway. What about you?

Not so bad NotSpartacus.
Some cramps, some localised irritation from pessaries, hoping and praying I don't start bleeding.
The results of your scan sound good. After 7 days my ltd few follicles were not much larger than where you are now after few days. I think I had a couple around 10mm, and the rest were trailers.
Sounds like you ve got them growing evenly seeing as they are mostly 8 and 9mm. Don't know if long protocol makes a difference to their growth, but my AMH is crap anyway so my expectations of lots of follicles was pretty low.
I had the same with my first scan, they couldn't even see my right ovary - it had gone to visit my bowel. When it returned a later scan showed this was my super ovary, so you may find that yet.

Kwick709 · 22/03/2016 18:22

notspartacus sounds like really good progress!!!! I only have one ovary so cannot help you there - although dont they take it in turns? I was on a lot more meds than you with much less growth. Please drink loads of milk and stay hydrated - I found this helped with the follicles.

I had a beta HCG blood test today and can confirm I have a BFP!!!! Very exciting... Very scary too... Especially as CRGH want to see me again first thing tomorrow as progesterone levels are low again!!!! Does anyone know what cyclogest is (pill? Injection?).

Everhopeful76 · 22/03/2016 18:27

Kwik - Fab news am so happy for you
I am on cyclogest 400mg x 2 a day. They are pessaries. I ve lately found them to cause a bit of local irritation but if I get a BFP at weekend I do want to stay on them because I have endo and am of the belief oestrogen and progesterone need to be well balanced. Endo is an oestrogen dominant condition.
You were my inspiration to not give up and continue to EC because we had a similar response to our stimms.
Although I am not feeling amazingly optimistic about mine at moment. Did you have any symptoms at all in the last few days?
Fantastic news!!!

westergille · 22/03/2016 19:51

That's wonderful news, kwick - congratulations! Been checking the thread today in hopes of good news from you.

Kwick709 · 22/03/2016 20:22

everhopeful I was your inspiration? What a lovely thing to say... Had a little cry :)
When you say pessaries do they go up the fanjo? Not sure if there will be any space after crinone 3 times a day.... So its progesterone?

In terms of symptoms - a get a new spot on my face each day but that might be medication related? Otherwise nothing noticeable.

Thanks westergille - sorry I left it so long to update the thread :) has been a nightmare of a day at work...

NotSpartacus · 22/03/2016 20:54

Hello lovelies

Delighted by your good news, Kwick. So great to have further evidence that this process does actually work! Cyclone storm can go in the fanjo or up your bottom, I believe the choice is yours. I wonder if we were at clinic at the same time... I was in a purplish coat!

it's good to hear from you Westergille, I hope things are going smoothly.

Ever I think it is pretty normal not to have symptoms, so don't read too much into that. It's a couple of days to your testing date now?

So the clinic called and they have increased both of my drugs, I really hope it doesn't lead to many more follicles (I want a few perfect eggs, not 27 shit ones). I start cetrotide tomorrow morning (dreading it - ( FIVE needles tomorrow! Arg!) and also doxycycline in anticipation of egg collection. Tomorrow night hopefully marks being half way through stims. Smile

NotSpartacus · 22/03/2016 20:55

Cyclone storm up your bum? Maybe not. Pretty sure I meant cyclogest!

LHReturns · 22/03/2016 21:07

Delurking Kwick - many congratulations!! Your positivity from the start has also inspired me. I have my first egg collection tomorrow and you have given me a boost!

LHReturns · 22/03/2016 21:08

Oh I don't know NotSpartacus, a cyclone storm up my bum should be at least considered!

Kwick709 · 22/03/2016 21:11

LOL notspartacus I may go with up my bum.... Shock

I was in at 8am... I did not see a purple coat.

I was actually a tad disappointed with the nurse - she was not very enthusiastic when I said I had tested positive. She then tried twice to get blood - after not believing me when I told her that I had difficult veins. She then passed me on to Susan - who is defo the best at getting blood - she was absolutely lovely as usual and we had a good old natter - which helped me with my cray-cray

So not long now for your EC notspartacus!!!! Very exciting! Sorry about the increased meds - but they do know what they are doing! IVF really is their specialty. Who is your consultant BTW? Mine is Irfana.

goinggrey1978 · 22/03/2016 21:22

hi everyone, i've had a terrible day, quite a lot of crying, nurse said at my scan earlier its the medication, i'm ready and donor lady has 16 follicles and another 2 scans til egg collection anytime after monday, they will ring me, still taking proganova til the phone call

muddyboots · 23/03/2016 00:25

Oh Kwick congratulations!
I have been lurking and keeping up with everyone's progress.
No news yet from my clinic about my recipient, but the donor nurse has emailed me to check that I'm ok.

SparrowSG · 23/03/2016 12:58

Hi everyone,

Had EC this morning. All ok, was under general and not really feeling any aches/pains now which is good. They managed to collect 8 eggs, although at first look by the embryologist only average quality, but I'm trying not to be too disheartened by this. Have been told to call tomorrow at 11 for an egg update. At the moment scheduled in for a Monday transfer.

Nice to see the end of the injections but of course have a new selection of meds to take, progesterone and oestrogen I think, plus the usual steroids and aspirin.

Going to relax now and enjoy being waited on by DH! Hopefully will be up to going out at the weekend to do some sightseeing. When we were here for the weekend in Jan for the initial consultation DH had man flu so didn't get out of the hotel really.

Kwick fabulous news, so happy for you. Hope all continues to go swimmingly.

notspartacus good luck with the increased stabbings! My meds were increased after day two as my follicles were just not budging, luckily apart from feeling a little loopy every now and then no major side effects.

goinggrey hope you're feeling better today xx

NotSpartacus · 23/03/2016 13:24

Goinggrey I hope you are feeling better today. Not long to go now, the end is in sight!

Good luck for EC LHreturns, I hope it goes smoothly.

Well done Sparrow. Eight eggs is fab! Keep us posted on how they do.

Kwick I'm with Ozturk, although I don't think it was him who made the decision to double my drugs yesterday (the nurse referred to the doctor as 'she'). I had Susan do my blood today and I swear I didn't even feel it - this is somewhat unusual for a needle phobe!

Are you back to normal now Muddyboots?

I was just wondering, should I plan for a day off after collection? I expect I will want a couple of days after transfer (stress free Womble and all that) but will I feel ok enough the day after collection to go to work?

Kwick709 · 23/03/2016 18:52

Susan is the best - she came up to me today, gave me a hug and said "i knew before you did!" Set me off on a crying jag....

I did see someone with a purple coat today 8.30ish - was that you notspartacus?

Everhopeful76 · 23/03/2016 19:22

I am finding this so funny, that you 2 are at the same clinic, with you trying to identify each other by a purplecoat, hehe. You guys should definitely meet up or you definitely will inadvertently soon am sure!!

LHReturns and Sparrow - congrats on your crop at egg collection, pleased that your numbers were good xx

Kwik -its true you did inspire me, because I had just the 2 eggs (like yourself) and the team were saying the response was worse than they expected. Hooray positivity!! However they did say that most who got to that point would go ahead anyway, so to get 2 eggs and then 2 embryos I was actually really happy. I like to see stories from the low AMH'ers who despite the odds get great results with their embryo blasts (Bananafish) and also like to stick by the it only takes 1 too, so am so pleased for you. Does give me great hope xx

Notspartacus, I d say you wouldn't necessarily need a day off after EC. I had mine at 10 am and was right as rain by 12noon, the nurses remarked that Ihad to stay still but was desperate to pee, this was roughly 20 mins after I came round and they insisted to take me to the toilet door, but was absolutely fine.t They want someone to be with you for 24hours afterwards so I guess if you could identify someone at work for a couple of hours in the morning and make sure you re around them, sure would be fine. Id say more important to have day off after any potential transfer and more time off if you can.

Goinggrey - hope you are ok

3.5 days till testing for me, eeek x

NotSpartacus · 23/03/2016 19:48

YES that was me! I did wonder if you were you, but thought you probably wouldn't be in again so soon! So funny. I did hum a little wombles themetune under my breath just in case. Grin

goinggrey1978 · 23/03/2016 19:48

hi everyone, thank you i think it's a mixture of the medication and being the end of term, one of my colleagues lost the plot and had a cry as well today, there must be something in the air!!
i have a banging headache and can't wait to go away on friday!!

Kwick709 · 23/03/2016 20:01

Sorry I was so brief before - I was on my phone.

notspartacus one of the reasons why my cousin recommended CRGH to me is the fact that it is a team approach - so the recommendations they give are not just the view of one Dr - I am not sure how true that really is (she went some years ago) but they do seem to know what they are doing in relation to IVF.

I went home after EC and took it real easy - much less discomfort than after the hysteroscopy. I had mine on a Friday - and I took it real easy that weekend. Then after ET (on Monday) I "worked " from home on the Tuesday and the Wednesday morning (then travelled to Paris to deliver training on Thursday and Friday!!!!!).

goinggrey sorry you have been feeling emotional. It will get better I promise - but this journey IS very emotional and taxing and tiring...

muddy how are you my hero?

sparrow wowzers 8 eggs!!!!! well done you!!!!

everhopeful I really like being an inspiration! It is true you only need the one (egg)! Are you symptom spotting like crazy? wow 3 days left - that is nothing... I started (secretly) 4 days from OTD Best of luck for your BFP!!!!

LHReturns · 23/03/2016 20:13

Thank you so much all of you on this thread! I don't expect anyone here to say anything as I am not a part of this one - I am a lurker here but needed to pipe up at Kwick's lovely response.

I have found EC entirely easy but bear in mind I am freezing everyhing that fertilises tomorrow so I am essentially finished now until the summer, no imminent transfer. So I feel very free suddenly. Gotta get married next!

So here watching Happy Valley with huge glass of wine feeling good. It's out of my control now.

I only got 5 silly eggs but for a 40 year old with AMH of 2.8 I hope that is ok! I will let you knew what we put in the freezer....

Thank you all for kind thoughts and warm wishes to all of you, especially those of you suffering right now.

LHReturns · 23/03/2016 20:13

Kwick's lovely BFP result I meant....

Everhopeful76 · 23/03/2016 20:14

Kwik - ah yeah been symptom spotting. Today have been feeling really nauseas and have a heightened sense of smell and taste, but could be wishful thinking
Did you get a positive as early as 4 days before? I am tempted but don't want to do it tomorrow and fri (just because I feel a bit superstitious about dates) so that would the limit it to doing it tonight? or just waiting. Aahhh

LHReturns · 23/03/2016 20:21

Everhopful:

"I like to see stories from the low AMH'ers who despite the odds get great results with their embryo blasts (Bananafish) and also like to stick by the it only takes 1 too, so am so pleased for you. Does give me great hope xx"

I couldn't agree more! I love Banana's success (while recognising her very sad outcome this week), and I also love Kwick's success! All great!!

Kwick709 · 23/03/2016 20:29

LHReturns enjoy your vino Wine what do you mean 5 silly eggs????? That is a amzeballs

Everhopeful I decided to start testing early as I thought I would get a BFN - and that having time would help me deal with it. The thing is I then did not trust the BFPs... I thought it could still be trigger, but as days went on I got more hopeful... TBH though I am still in shock and am treating myself with kid gloves.

Everhopeful76 · 23/03/2016 20:34

Ah yes I also meant to add bananas determination despite very sad news....

Ahh now do I test early?
