Our thread was originally started by Rumples who now has her bfp, as have a few other ladies along the way. Here's hoping the next thread holds a few more bfps!

smidge its so hard but phoenix is right. a lot of ppl bleed in pg ivf or not.

I'm having my own freak out because my lines are getting lighter. this crap is so stressful!

Oh Smidge, I'm sorry, that's rubbish isn't it. From everything I've read the last few days bleeding is particularly common with IVF. So please don't give up hope yet. For me the bleeding has been (or at least feels) like it's been so extreme I'm finding it very hard to stay positive. DH has gone to Sainsburys for some bits and pieces while I lounge on the sofa and is going to get me some tests.

gcerron · 15/02/2015 11:43

Ohhh girls I have everything crossed for you phoenix, mini, smidge, I can imagine how hard has been this week, but as everybody here we have to wait. I hope the next week things are more clear and all of you feeling better and no bleeding anymore for anybody!!
I hope everything is going well with the bfp girls, thinking of everybody today Flowers

PhoenixFire7 · 15/02/2015 11:57

lildottie have you done a digital? Sorry if you've said but I can't remember with everything going on. Are you sure it's getting lighter or are you panicking?

Um, I'm so sorry. I have no idea how that photo attached! My iPad crashed as I posted. It's an old photo too! Sorry

lildottie · 15/02/2015 12:13

I did a digi on otd. I did another ic with SMU and it was a bit darker so I'm thinking maybe it was a dodgy test. I've been to buy frers!

OP posts:
minibmw2010 · 15/02/2015 12:47

Digi ClearBlue test still says 1-2 pregnant? Will try not to test till later again in the week now. Which tests are best? x

Persipan · 15/02/2015 13:04

My clinic specifically told me not to do digital tests when I do test; they didn't explain why (or possibly I wasn't listening; this was just before my embryo transfer and I was bursting for a wee) but I suspect it's a mixture of the binary yes/no nature being misleading (e.g. it might show a negative when a two-line test would show a faint positive), and because that number-of-weeks business can be unreliable (especially if you've had two put back and therefore have a higher chance of a multiple pregnancy).

minibmw2010 · 15/02/2015 13:53

Yes that makes a lot of sense. Probably why they give a really basic test to test with.

PhoenixFire7 · 15/02/2015 14:42

My test still said 1-2 yesterday mini and I'm a lot further than you even though FRERs are getting darker. This is why I think the beta result will be bad news tomorrow!

Verkey81 · 15/02/2015 23:45

If the FRER's are getting darker, why would that be bad news phoenix? Could be good?

So much going on here, I'm going back to re read everything!

I've had a rollercoaster weekend as a member of the family got upset on our OTD that we told another member of the family during the day by text and they heard from them, instead of from us that it was BFP. This all happened before even 5pm on our OTD, we were going to call them once DP got back from work, but the news travelled faster and now there's a big fallout - can you believe that! I got stressed at for not telling them first - because apparently, that was the most important thing about Friday - not the fact we could celebrate but the fact we didn't tell people in the right order - so now our great news and celebration has been tarnished by family fallout :( Friday the 13th... rollercoaster! I'm soo stressed I'm worried it might affect the baby :( Why does everyone else have to make it all about them :(

Anyway, having just made that all about me ;) I'm off to read back over the posts!

Verkey81 · 16/02/2015 00:20

Hang in there smidge, everything I read gives plenty of reasons for bleeding,so don't write anything off yet.

Lildottie are you still testing every day? I haven't done since, getting so many twinges and stuff, think I'd be scared too!

persipan that's quite interesting they said don't use digitals, but I guess you're right about the binary nature of them, I never thought of that!

Smidge001 · 16/02/2015 00:55

Thanks for the positive vibes, but this is our third attempt and the bleeding is just the same as the previous 2 BFNs, and what I always get in the run up to my period. I'm 100% sure it's a negative. It's too early to test though as today is only 5dp5dt. I'm going to phone my nurses team to see if they can do my blood test earlier (it's not scheduled until Monday, which will be 12dp5dt, and I'm sure they can get a definitive no much sooner than that. Continuing with all the drugs when I know there's no point is just rubbing salt in the wound. Suspect I'll have to continue for a few more days yet though.

Phoenix your tests definitely look as if they're getting darker. I hope this means it was just late to implant and your HCG levels are doubling. Did you have more than one embie transfered? Could the bleeding have been one and the other is still going strong? Are you still bleeding? When do you go for your next blood test? Fingers crossed.

Smidge001 · 16/02/2015 00:56

*so much sooner

ToesAndFingersCrossed · 16/02/2015 08:56

Phoenix - I think your signs look encouraging, I have everything crossed for you!

Smidge - I'm so sorry :( hopefully you can get a blood test soon for some clarity.

Does anyone else have a rotten cold? After my symptom free 2ww my nose is like someone's left the tap running! Not sure if that's just a cold (lots of people at work have been sick lately) or if it's pg related (apparently the estrogen makes your nose runny?) but I didn't realize I couldn't have sudafed until I read the packet. I didn't have any but I feel rotten!!

minibmw2010 · 16/02/2015 11:57

I've rung the clinic again to ask advice as I'm in quite a bit of pain on and off and have been for a couple of days now ?? No idea if they'll be able to do anything or say anything other than 'keep doing your medication etc' but it felt like I should ask. Will let you know what they say x

minibmw2010 · 16/02/2015 12:06

Well they pretty much didn't want to know from what I could see. I spoke to Pat who said she was going to speak with a Dr but then rang back after having spoken to another Nurse and basically said carry on as before with medications, but if things worsen go to A&E. So I assume that means that once our treatment with them is finished as far as they're concerned I'm out of their hands? Nice.

lildottie · 16/02/2015 16:51

my blood hcg is only 6 so not looking good. as its still technically positive I have to continue meds and do another blood test next week Sad

OP posts:
minibmw2010 · 16/02/2015 17:57

Oh lildottie, I'm sorry. Fingers crossed your levels improve for you.

I came to A&E in the end, feel very bad about doing it but I do feel rough. They did a urine test and said there was a very faint positive line. Was sent to EPU and had a blood test and an internal scan. Scanner not worried about ectopic right now. Saw a very possible tiny little blob that might be a sac but is worried about level of bleeding but said all I can do about that is keep an eye on it.

Said she'll call me tomorrow to say if they want to redo blood tests, if I'm anaemic etc x

PhoenixFire7 · 16/02/2015 18:27

littledottie how come they're waiting so long for another test? Surely they should be keeping an eye on it? I'm sorry you're feeling low but don't give up yet!

smidge are you still bleeding? I got every sign and symptom I had on my 4 failed cycles this time round too. In fact it was worse because I bled heavily for a little over a day! But I'm still in the game so don't give up either.

Verkey that sucks! I can't believe people can be so selfish! Don't let them ruin your happy news and definitely don't let them stress you out. That's so unfair.

So....

I got the results of my second beta and it has risen from 16 to 123! I'm very happy but still cautious of course

lildottie · 16/02/2015 20:05

don't know phoenix but it could be because the nurse I saw is only in certain days. she seems to have taken me under her wing Smile

Shellster52 · 17/02/2015 00:26

So much going on here. This IVF's really is a roller coaster, reading all the highs and lows on here.

Verkey, you really need to not be defensive and set your family straight. You have been through so much in the build up to get to this BFP and it should be them being excited for you, not making you feel stressed that you didn't tell them in the right order! As if you meant any harm. You're just flipping over the moon at the moment and sitting down to write a list ranking people wasn't on your priority list when you got your BFP!

little, what a torturous week. I've been through failed IVF's and even my last cycle where I had pregnancy symptoms and a late period, before it was all taken away from me. Feel free to rant as much as you need to get through this week. We are here for you.

mini, don't feel bad about going to A&E. I am glad they did something for you to help give you answers, although I guess it's time that can only give you the final answer. Let us know how you get on.

Smidge001 · 17/02/2015 02:19

Oh Phoenix congratulations! Will they do another blood test in a few days to track how your levels are doing?

Yes, I'm still bleeding. I called my nurses team and they said that was really quite early to be bleeding (well, duh, yes I know. Unfortunately for me, I usually bleed for a week in the run up to getting my period, whether or not I'm doing IVF). She's agreed to bring my blood test sooner but said the earliest they can do it and still be happy with a definite negative result is Friday, which will be 9dp5dt. At least that's better than nothing.

So crap though Sad. Shell it seems endometrin doesn't keep my bleeding at bay at all! In fact I think I lasted a bit longer on the crinone. It was more like blood stained gel remnants on crinone, whereas on endometrin it's been proper blood.

lildottie I'm sorry to hear your HCG levels are so low. Will they do another test in a few days?

And mini when will you hear back from your blood test? I presume they can give you your actual HCG level from that as well as the faint positive from the urine sample? Flowers though, it doesn't sound as though you are getting much support from the clinic. I guess there's just not much they can do just wait and see, which isn't very helpful.

minibmw2010 · 17/02/2015 17:14

Hello all, just spoke to the hospital. They said blood test showed HCG level of 91.5 and I'm to go back tomorrow for another test? Does anyone know what that means in the scheme of things? Cheers x

PhoenixFire7 · 17/02/2015 18:12

How many days past transfer are you mini?
