I have a clinic appointment tomorrow, I think to start injections, feeling a bit nervous about the whole thing, looking for others experiences and general chat/support.

This is the first cycle, anyone else in a similar position??

Hi Ellie,

Glad you haven't found it too bad. I thought the whole process was fairly straight forward too. I'm on my last attempt now, the first worked but ended in miscarriage, the second didn't work so I'm hoping it's third time lucky! I had three big follies and dh sperm sample was good so I'm trying to think positively! I did do a test this morning (stupid of me!) it was bfn but this happened on my first one, bnf 12dpiui and bfp 14dpiui so try not to be tempted to test early! :) x

Happilymarried155 · 01/03/2014 16:44

Hope aalaa and worried are both ok x

Ellie112 · 01/03/2014 17:37

Hi Happily,
Sorry to hear about the mc??. Fingers crossed this time it works out for you. I have been told that as I have a low AMH I should try 2 IUIs then move on to IVF if no success. Would feel a lot more chilled about everything of I had not had the AMH bombshell dropped on my last month. Am symptom spotting already and it's only 3 days post IUI. Don't think I'll be able to hold out another 10 days before testing.
Really hope to hear good news from you soon. x

aaLaa · 01/03/2014 20:36

Hi Ellie, sounds line your iui went well! Fingers crossed, I hope that your two week wait goes quick, try not to symptom spot, I don't think it does anyone any good just messes with your head.

Happily - how are you doing? Hope your result changes in the next few days.

Worried- how are you??

I am ok, been busy, nephews 4th birthday party this afternoon, good fun, though slightly depressing with all the kids and babies, including 1 month old twin girls. SO damn cute (secretly I wish the whole drugs and fertility treatment thing will result in twins!!!)

Away on my holidays tomorrow for 10 days so hopefully hat will kill the time until the next cycle of treatment can start.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend ladies!

Hi all,

Been a busy few days. In laws down etc.

I got a smiley opk today so we are going to go ahead and try ourselves this month, prob another IUI next month. Still getting discharge from c section scar so have decided to see another gyneocologist for second opinion on whether it can be sorted surgically.

Sorry about the bfn happily. Have everything crossed that its just too early.

I hope you're ok aaLaa. This can be a very tough business.

Bx

Ellie112 · 02/03/2014 16:51

AaLaa - Have a lovely holiday. Would love to escape this awful weather.

Happily - Everything crossed for you this week!!

Worried - have read your messages and sounds like you have had a horrible time but you sound pretty positive and glad to see u have a plan - where there's a will there's away.

4 days down10 to go Confused

Floweroct · 02/03/2014 17:45

Hope you have a great holiday aalaa

What day are you due to test Ellie? I'm supposed to test on 13th it seems so far away!!!

Happilymarried155 · 02/03/2014 19:09

Tommorow is 2 weeks since iui so we will see if AF arrives, if it doesn't I will test on Tuesday. I'm not holding out much hope but who knows! If not have a ivf information session next week so at least we can get the ball rolling with that. I don't know about everyone else but the time aspect is one of the most annoying things for me! The waiting drives me mad!

Have a lovely holiday aalaa!

Glad your doing ok worried and sounding positive :) fingers crossed you might catch naturally this month and not have to do it again!

Good luck everyone else in the 2ww! X

Ellie112 · 02/03/2014 20:41

Floweroct -I test on 12th. Doubt i'll be able to hold out til then. Will try.

Floweroct · 02/03/2014 21:57

Ooh hope af stays away happily. I know what you mean about the waiting so at least you do have the positive if ivf appt if it doesn't work out.

It's difficult to hold out isn't it Ellie!

Ellie112 · 03/03/2014 21:46

Happily - am hoping no news is good news and you'll have some brilliant news for us tomorrow x ps am in same boat as you reg IVF definitely feels good to have a back up plan!!

Happilymarried155 · 03/03/2014 21:50

AF hasn't arrived today so will test in the morning if AF hasn't arrived. I can't remember when it arrived with previous failed iuis now! Fingers crossed it's a good sign :)

Definitely good to have a next step in my head if it doesn't work out though! X

Happilymarried155 · 04/03/2014 09:28

AF arrived today so will be ivf for us. Good luck everyone x

Floweroct · 04/03/2014 09:38

Oh sorry happily, all the best with your ivf appt - it has a much higher success rate doesn't it so hopefully it will work for you x

Happilymarried155 · 04/03/2014 12:17

Thanks, I feel fine about it. Always thought we would end up doing ivf! Like you say it has a much better success rate x

worriedmum100 · 04/03/2014 14:38

Sorry that AF got you happily. Good that you're feeling positive x

aaLaa · 04/03/2014 16:56

Happily. So sorry that AF arrived, I guess you can just look forward to your IVF appointment, when is it?

Hope everyone else is well..

L x

Am sorry to hear your news but great to hear you sounding so positive and with IVF having far better success rates you have good reason to be!!!

Did a test today. Insane I know (week early) but there is method to my madness. Have convinced myself that if I take tests now and get used to a negative result then it won't disappoint me next week. The sane part of my brain is telling me this is ridiculous but at the moment is being overruled by the craziness that not knowing has caused.

Just thought u ladies would appreciate my twisted logic! Grin

Floweroct · 04/03/2014 19:54

Haha loving the logic Ellie!

EdnaGold · 05/03/2014 13:15

Well I only just joined the thread and I just got a BFP. (sorry this now appears like I just waltzed in then smugly announce I think I'm pregnant).

I have our first IUI appointment booked for tomorrow and not sure what I'm supposed to do?!

For those trying, if this (touch wood) does turn out to be a correct BFP and everything goes ok, then it was those LH tests that eventually did it for me. TWO YEARS months of buggering around with the little feckers- but a positive result one morning and lots of baby dancing to follow has hopefully done it for us. It was also the first month I ever ever physically felt the symptons of ovulation...and weirdly the first month I started to take folic acid properly on a regular basis. So maybe the folic helps- who knows.

Good luck to everyone :).

oohdaddypig · 07/03/2014 14:24

Hi all

Would you mind if I join the thread?

About to start IUI next cycle. We have to use donor sperm. I am a bit of a veteran IUI-er (!) as we already have two beautiful kids conceived this way. We have a small number of vials left and would love another....but with my increasing age a third is a long shot.

Nobody knows of our predicament so it's a lonely place and I would love to chat more.

I also hope my previous positive experiences show that IUI can work...

Congratulations Edna!!! I adore the letters BFP...

juneybean · 07/03/2014 20:49

Had day 8 scan today but doctor said it was too early to see anything though he said 6.4 to the nurse so not sure if that was follicle or womb lining. Going back on Tuesday which is day 12!

Floweroct · 08/03/2014 08:30

Congrats Edna!
Welcome daddy pig! How many iuis did you have before you got your previous bfps?
Ellie - been doing any more tests :)

I was so tempted to test today but I don't know if trigger would be out of my system so guess I wouldn't have believed bfp or bfn so guess ill hold out til Thursday if af doesn't turn up first! My boobs seem bigger and a bit sore but I'm sure I'm probably imagining it or if not its just the cyclogest. Not feeling very positive though, can't imagine ever seeing a bfp!

Hope everyone's got something nice planned for the weekend x

oohdaddypig · 08/03/2014 12:44

Thanks flower. My only advice is really try not to test early as it always took 14 days for the ovitrelle to leave my system...I had to get DH to hide the tests!

We conceived DC1 on third go. Then for our second child, success on first try but sadly miscarried. Then DC2 on second go after that. So out of seven cycles, it worked three times. That's not to say it ever felt easy - the TWW are so nerve wracking and my stomach is already knotted at the thought of trying again.

I remember the feeling of thinking you will never see a BFP (we tried for a year before discovering our problem). When I got my first BFP I nearly collapsed and I still have the stick :)

My boobs were always big and sore when I got my BFPs so fingers crossed for you.

Can I ask if you are monitored by blood tests or just home OPKs? It's day one of my cycle today...

Ellie112 · 08/03/2014 17:08

Hi Flower. Yep am still following my twisted logic - did one today (4 days early). BFN - no surprise!! I got a pack of 15 from internet for about £3 so its just too easy.
Congrats Edna!
Hi Daddypig!
My boobs are massive just now but that's to go with hormones I think. I find it a pain as no underwear fits properly. OH loves itGrin
