Hut of Gl/Doom, lost count of the number coz its been so long - optimists need not apply!

Couldn't find the hut but in dire need of a hideout away from all those "its been 2 months" and "am I pregnant" threads.

For those of us who've been burnt by ttc, can't get pregnant, can't stay pregnant or are sick of hearing the "just relax" refrain.

Leave your hope at the door and grab a gin, we are back in the speakeasy with meths on tap!

Thanks carrie I've put in on a few other threads so hopefully someone can help might ask for a bit of money back till I know whether it's worked on not (dreaded 2ww)

Hello all!

I'm just back from a few days in Co Mayo, went to in laws to collect doggie and was telling MIL about new car I was looking at (a mini). MIL says surely you need a bigger car for babies? I just sort of laughed it off and then she just came out with it and asked 'are you not trying then?'. Again I laughed it off and DH just said well whatever happens happens sort of thing but I could feel myself welling up and had to look at the floor. Sad

It's just a bit insensitive considering that my SIL (her daughter) is in the middle of IVF as she lost her tubes due to eptopic pregnancies so it's not like she's not aware that things aren't always easy.

Oh well, that's my rant over Grin.

Hope everyone is looking forward to the weekend!

carrieonlaughing · 03/02/2012 21:14

So not quite the relaxing break you were hoping for Flixy. Maybe in her own insensitive way she was wondering if you were having issues too.
You might find that she will offer support considering she is aware with her own daughter having issues. All be it in a clumsy way.
I have been totally honest with my furture mother in law and said I have past issues and they know we are seeking help. Its saved a lot of are you pregnant yet questions lol

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 04/02/2012 08:18

We've told parents both sides too. They weren't surprised - we've been married 3 1/2 years and in a new house 2 1/2. That way we can also tell them, when I finally do get pregnant, early on and they'll understand why we are different to most couples with bfps.
Aside from stressful dog collecting, how was your break flix?

flixy102 · 04/02/2012 09:14

I suppose I just didn't want anymore pressure added on than I already feel on myself, cos I really do feel it! And we've only been married 9 months so didn't expect questions so early!

Our break was great, we stayed in an old castle which was definitely different, travelled around a few little towns on the west coast of ireland and ate and drank like mad things! Makes me realise how much of my own island I haven't seen!

Back to work on Monday, oh well!

queenrollo · 04/02/2012 09:24

I poas this morning and BFN. I was expecting it, but I wanted to make sure. So the CP has obviously messed with my hormones. Not happy about this as it took me so long to get my cycle into order. As much as I don't like AF putting in an appearance I cope with it much better when I can predict when it's going to happen. I don't want to go back to the days of cycles between 35 -45 days. The frustration drove me mad.

pinkapples · 04/02/2012 13:05

Just a quick note feeling very chilly today and to make matters worse its -8 and I have no hot water hmmm not impressed! Angry

pinkapples · 04/02/2012 19:40

Waters back on!! GrinGrin

Had a romantic walk in the snow with hubby and dogs and watched mr poppers penguins hehe so funny!

Hope everyone's having a good weekend

queenrollo · 05/02/2012 07:34

ugh. AF here (and i'm pleased because it means the CP hasn't disrupted my body too much) but this one is dreadful. I never usually get too crampy but this has kept me awake on and off all night, even with painkillers. I feel wrung out from sleep deprivation and am sat with a hot water bottle to try and ease the pain. Heavy flow too. blergh.

Need to muster some energy, DS will be up soon and is going to go into orbit when he sees how much snow we have!!

BBisBBack · 05/02/2012 08:46

Flixy your trip sounds lovely, My MIL used to ask questions like that in the end i told her and the she was trying to buy me clomid online bless her!! I fond that question from friends harder to take, and even strangers with the arent you going to have another - its an assumption of society that everyone can do it as and when they choose!
Pink glad you have hot water back i really dont like cold no snow here thank goodness!
Queen boo for AF my last one was heavy but only lasted three days so hopefully yours will pass quickly

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 05/02/2012 09:11

Wish me luck I've got to drive from Birmingham to Lincoln!
Q decided I like this because it's rather James Bond sorry to hear you're suffering but I'm glad you're cycle is relatively normal.
pink glad you've got hot water cos brr without it_

queenrollo · 05/02/2012 09:37

Good Luck with the drive phoenix DH supposed to be going to Wales mid-week with work...if the snow is still around I'll not be happy if work insist he has to!
My cousin got stuck in Lincoln last night. Cars couldn't get up Lindum Hill. She eventually managed to get her car turned around and to a Travelodge.

We went out yesterday to get a few bits, and yes people were panic buying Hmm. We needed milk, bread and toilet roll. I've always got well stocked cupboards including UHT milk and I always have ingredients in for making bread so if it gets too bad we're ok here. DH bought a 4x4 last year though to try and avoid getting stuck in the village. We have a lot of elderly people in our village so if it gets bad we check if they need supplies/prescriptions etc before we go out.

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 05/02/2012 14:07

I'm home safely. Not a nice drive though, lots of spray and fog around. So nice to be tucked up inside!

flixy102 · 05/02/2012 16:58

Hope everyone is toasty warm away from the snow! None here tho it is absolutely freezing! DH has made a big pot of stew for the next day or 2 and a roast dinner for today-yum!

I was good to myself yesterday and traded in my car for a better one, can't wait to pick it up. And of course it's not child friendly so naturally I'll be upduffed within the year and have to get rid of it! Grin

BBisBBack · 05/02/2012 17:55

Hehe flixy I like your thought process! Im down south and we have now snow either thank goodness!

Phoenix glad drive went ok ive never driven in snow!

Arg i have a splitter of a headache! And a smear to look forward to tomorrow! I certainly know how to live! rockandroll although on the upside it will be a weight off of my mind hopefully!

pinkapples · 05/02/2012 18:19

Hehe I gave up my 2 seated vauxhall tigra convertible to have kids hmmm regretting it now much!! However it's not to practical in snow we had snow here yesterday but it's all cleared now thankfully.

Yup toasty and warm here just cooking dinner now then chill out ready for work tomorrow Grin

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 05/02/2012 21:24

The only snow I drove in was local roads, motorways/a roads were fine. Lots of spray/ salt and fog. Worst thing was idiot drivers not clearing the snow from their roofs and not putting their fog lights on! Idiots!
Glad everyone is tucked up and warm :)

BBisBBack · 06/02/2012 08:21

Well i had a weir end to my sunday! Have been engaged for a year (altho always refer to partner as DH use his name etc) and lat night MIL text to say they would like to pay towards wedding!! Which means we can now have a wedding! Eeek!

carrieonlaughing · 06/02/2012 13:29

Well congrats BB that's great news and something to plan and keep you busy.
I've had another anouncement from a friend expecting but it was my ex hubby that told me and he doesn't know I am TTC so just smiled a lot lol.
The whole office is a buzz today as someone from a different department is in labour so constant updates. Beginning to feel surrounded and want to hide under my desk :(

BBisBBack · 06/02/2012 15:22

Hi carrie thanks although it doesn't go far as im finding out its making me Confused

carrieonlaughing · 06/02/2012 17:23

I had internal at my doctors about 3 weeks ago and have just got my smear letter. I'm sure my doctor will have done that at the same time or she better have as I won't be happy :s

BBisBBack · 06/02/2012 18:42

Its the first smear ive had, had two internals with Ds hated them! The lady said my bits looked good...not sure thats a compliment aha!Hmm

flixy102 · 06/02/2012 18:53

When I went for my first smear, the nurse said my cervix looked lovely! Confused

I took it as a compliment but now every smear I go for I expect my cervix to be complimented!! Lol have been disappointed the last 2 trips tho.

BBisBBack · 06/02/2012 19:03

Haha flixy glad its not just me! I shall be angling for further compliments in future ones too!

PhoenixFromTheFlames · 06/02/2012 19:41
