story here from the Guardian

lots of people on here already know my views so just opening this up for comment. Does this research change anyone's opinion re: MMR?

Thanks earthworm thats helpful.

So there have been more studies carried out, and they have found NO LINK in those extra studies.

I dont really want my taxes being spent on forever repeating experiments/further experiments on this, when there is NO LINK and the only reason people want more research on it is because they believe in it. I might believe in fairies, but doesnt mean I want to pay people to hunt for them. Lets have some new, useful research instead please.

research into WHAT?

Sassybeast · 15/06/2010 20:06

SMA - but that doesn't answer my question as to why scientists aren't queuing up to support Wakefield by replicating and developing his research, (albeit within correct ethical and clinical guidelines) ?

earthworm · 15/06/2010 20:06

He should definitely appeal if Deer told a pack of lies about him.

In fact, I do wonder why he didn't get this all sorted out at the original GMC trial rather than saving it all up for a book.

I don't know what I'll think if he doesn't appeal - perhaps that he doesn't have a case?

Don't worry, Leonie, this will all be resolved when Wakefield appeals the decision with all the new evidence he has acquired - am I right in thinking that he has 28 days to appeal?

Blimey, I think that's Monday - he'd better get his skates on.

Would definitely be interested to hear what Wakefield's book says about the patent though - genuinely - when you have a little more time.

Leonie -

Now I knew that I wouldn't get an unbiased view from John Stone (who works with the anti-mmr group Jabs), but was willing to try your link.

However, when he began talking about reading a book by David Icke I started to suspect that he may not be the most reliable of witnesses either.

I guess I'll just have to wait for the appeal.

That's the David Icke, who has recently helpfully exposed the reptilian bloodline that rules the world btw.

earthworm · 15/06/2010 20:40

I really hope that he doesn't shy away from appealing Leonie, not now he has all of Deer's evidence and can prove categorically that it was all a pack of lies.

It would be a matter of principle, I feel.

I don't know where he standsre: appeal.

I doknow he has a counter claim in at the gmc for the false evidence givena t hs rial, along with the misdirection, non-submission of evidence etc etc.

oh, we had a good result, leonie - LEA settled early on (tribunal date was July).

Agreed in full, dd1 is an ABA school funded by the LEA - yay! (well, funded by them when they bother to pay, grrr. that's the other thing I was chasing around all day today...)
