During the very long, recent thread about the AK/RS verdicts, I expressed the hope that all the misleading information did not have a beneficial effect on the one person who was categorically proven to have been there. It looks like my fears have come true!

Whatever the situation with the other 2, RG is firmly linked to the crime with solid forensic evidence and this must be terrible for Meredith's parents.

No-one accused Guede, he was identified due the forensic evidence he left at the scene.

Look at all the publicity the media are doing! portraying him as the potential killer and rapist. If you go to the Wikipedia there are vey few information about Amanda and Raffaelo, all is about Guede.

Amanda's lawyer did accuse Guede.

Guede is the drug dealer, the thief, the murder..The other two nothing.

They all left forensic evidence On the crime scene

I do feel very sorry for the Kercher and that murder was really unhuman!

This thread was started on the premise that the misleading information may have contributed to the reduction in RG's sentence.

Plenty of well-read MNers have come forward to explain why this is not the case.

Now we seem to be back to rehashing the case:

"The way I look at it is that I believe that Knox and Sollecito are innocent and I believe that their guilt has not been proven at all."

AK and RS told multiple lies, evasions, distortions and finally resorted to a defence based around not being able to remember anything.

This was a dangerous strategy for the defence, because if even one iota of forensic evidence was found at the scene, the defendents would be convicted. The prosecution did find some forensic evidence - you can argue the toss about whether or not it was contaminated - but the jury believed it.

The media circus continues because AK/RS are young and beautiful and middle-class and their families have enough clout and money to create large publicity machines. I'm not sure either AK/RS will ever have the luxury of being able to tell the truth of what happened that night.

I'm with expat on this. Forget the murderer/murderers and remember the victim.

I agree with your post, but I didn't mention anywhere that Guede was innocent, I was just trying to underline the publicity of the media specially the media manipulated by the priviledged class.

I do remember the victim, thats why I also mentioned all my sympathy towards the Kercher family.

I also agree with expat and Harriedandflustered that we should not lose sight of the fact that someone was murdered, and no-one seems prepared to admit their guilt even though someone plainly has struck the fatal blow, and remember that above all the other discussions/disagreements.

At the end of the day, it seems like we will never TRULY know what went on in that room when it happened, without one of the participants coming clean about it.

there is and never will be justice enough for the murder of Meredith Kercher. there will not be in this life.

all that is left to her family is to try as best they can to seek the truth as to what happened and to celebrate as best they can her life, rather than how she died.

i just hope they can find support and love, from any source.
