I don't usually post on these forums keeping my MNing confined to comments on the Style & Beauty pages but....
I am proud to say that I've just got in from the protest against Nick Griffin appearing on Question Time.
What lots of people are missing is that the BNP are not a normal political party and Nick Griffin has spent years consciously hiding their agenda. He is not about to start goosestepping or Heil Hitlering on Question Time. Let me quote from Griffin himself "There's a difference between selling out your ideas and selling your ideas. The BNP is not about selling out its ideas - which are your ideas too - but we are determined now to sell them. And that means, bascially, to use the saleable words: freedom, security, identity, demoncracy" - and do you know who he was talking to and with when he said that - the Klu Klux Klan - that bastion of demoncracy.
"Instead of presenting the party as a revolutionary alternative to the system, we must present them (the electorate) with an image of moderate reasonableness.... Of course we must teach the truth to the hardcore. But when it come to influencing the public, forget about racial differences, Zionism, histroical revisionsim and so on".
And oh what a proud history of taking on the BNP the BBC has! Just a few weeks ago two "young BNP members" Mark and Joey were interviewed on BBC kids TV unchallenged even when they suggested Ashley Cole is not "ethnically English". Do you know who Mark & Joey were? The BNP Press Manager and Youth Membership Manager. Appearing unchallenged.
The reality is this - when the BNP are active in an area, get publicity or elected, racist attacks go up. That isn't a wishy washy debate about freedom of speech - it is a horrific reality. I believe in freedom of speech - I believe in the freedom of speech of all the non white people in our communities who are not allowed to join the BNP and would be "repatriated" by them.
I am proud I was there today.
