aitch

WideWebWitch · 15/08/2009 00:12

As if MN could ask the DM or any newspaper to not report or mention something in the public domain anyway!

yes, there are questions about copyright but hey, you post on a public forum (eg the comments section of a newspaper), well, you expect it to be reprinted possibly and read widely don't you?

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/08/2009 00:13

Well, I was thinking more of them not having to fork out redundancy payments for MP aitch....

Well I think if MNHQ think it's ok to delete any mentions of the journalist's name then your post should be deleted Aitch.

And I think The Sun has more influence than many papers.

Tortington · 15/08/2009 00:17

yeah aitch

wotzy · 15/08/2009 00:17

I thought Justine had pulled MN from the server so the site went down so she could go to bed.

AitchTwoOh · 15/08/2009 00:17

feel free to report it then, swotty.

Tortington · 15/08/2009 00:18

the metro - geddit right

Tortington · 15/08/2009 00:18

yeah swotty

WideWebWitch · 15/08/2009 00:18

As I said, I haven't read the 10000000000 posts, can someone summarise, what are people most cross about? That someone wrote for the DM? That they weren't asked permission personally (although MNHQ may have been)? Or that they thought this was private? or what?

Interested to know.

Platesmasher · 15/08/2009 00:19

this whole thing is ripping my knitting.
i have nothing intelligent to add though, it's not my area. but i'm really not happy about this.

Tortington · 15/08/2009 00:19

its cos they weren't mentioned

BuffyTheFluffySlayer · 15/08/2009 00:20

Yes, but why are there no MN quotes/articles in the tabloids? Why the Guardian/Times?independant? Is this site too 'middle class'? (this is probably a whole new thread. Sorry)

WideWebWitch · 15/08/2009 00:20

Swotty? What? Are you talking to me? Assume not.

AitchTwoOh · 15/08/2009 00:20

right then. you've not read anything at all if you think that mn knew.
different people are cross about different things. plus ca change on mn.

WideWebWitch · 15/08/2009 00:21

ha ha ha ha, so are most people cross because they weren't mentioned? So it's a popularity contest? Ha ha

wotzy · 15/08/2009 00:21

I think they are cross because she's had some facelift bollocks and now looks 10 years younger.

It's now all beyond my caring. Where is my Hello mag?

WideWebWitch · 15/08/2009 00:22

Oh c'mon, of COURSE Mn knew! (have they confirmed they haven't? apols if so!)

They are extremely media savvy intelligent business people. I'd be surprised if they didn't.

VeniVidiVickiQV · 15/08/2009 00:22

Yes, I think there is a complicated formula www that is influence = articles attracting readership, divided by number of readers times the number of pages and the square root of the average number of syllables.
