It was hidden away at the bottom this morning and I thought it was very interesting. Lots of common sense in the ruling.

The UK formula manufacturers are not permitted to make their health claims. The recent ruling backs that up.

But it doesn't stop them making these claims.

They are a law unto themselves.

Trading Standards could prosecute, but they choose not to.

nellie: there is no way of knowing whether formula X or formula Y will increase your baby's chances of throwing up...it is confusing, but no one could tell you that anyway, as individual reactions are individual.

The FOIA is mainly for government agencies, although am wondering how a formula (other than those prescribed) is licenced? Presumably it has to be approved by a government agency, so the FOIA possibly could be used for that information to be made public?

Interesting idea.
