OK maybe Jamie Oliver, he is pretty selfless in his food thing. He seems to know how to bring people together.

OP posts:
notnowbernard · 21/05/2009 19:35

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

notnowbernard · 21/05/2009 22:36

Glad I killed that idea

MrsMcCluskey · 21/05/2009 22:38

Good God no.

poshtottie · 21/05/2009 23:01

I would vote for Martin Clunes. Seems very genuine. He lives in my area.

snigger · 21/05/2009 23:12

Jimmy Saville, Graeme Norton, and Simon Cowell.

I'd watch PMQ for that.

Maninadirndl · 22/05/2009 08:35

Both Jamie and Hugh Fearnley Whittingstall. Both heroes for improving lousy British food.

KingRolo · 22/05/2009 08:38

Bono.

BitOfFun · 22/05/2009 08:38

I can think of MNers! Reality for Prime Minister

KingRolo · 22/05/2009 08:38

oh, and Sting and his lovely wife Trudy.

BitOfFun · 22/05/2009 08:40

< snort > You are a wag, Rolo

nannyogg · 22/05/2009 08:41

Eddie Izzard, for Prime Minister.

artichokes · 22/05/2009 08:43

DH and I are discussing this last night. If there is going to be an influx of celeb independents then we can do alot better than Esther Bloody Rantzen. We like:
Melvin Bragg (except he is already a Lord so no dice)
Fergal Keane
Joanna Lumley
Paul Merton

Slubberdegullion · 22/05/2009 08:48

Mary Portas

The Magnificent Margaret from the Apprentice

BitOfFun · 22/05/2009 08:51

I went off Mary Portas, but Margaret would be rather good, inspired choice!

noshouting · 22/05/2009 08:52

Another vote for Eddie Izzard here, imagine the fashion!!!
And I fancy him like mad .....would make question time so much more exciting ... oh am dreaming about it now.....

KingRolo · 22/05/2009 08:56

Oh yes, Margaret would be fab. But not Nick, no way.

BeatrixRotter · 22/05/2009 08:58

Ben Fogle.

Slubberdegullion · 22/05/2009 08:59

I love Mary Portas so much I will not hear a bad word said against her . She is a lone voice against the giant tide of monstrously shit service we have come to expect in this country. When I go out shopping I carry a tiny virtual Mary about in my handbag and when I get syphillitic service I stroke my portable Mary and get all fired up in her name.

I gave a couple of moronic fules in the Mac store a proper talking to the other day for chatting to each other and ignoring me. Mary-in-my-pocket empowered me.

AND imagine how fabulous she would look in the Commons. She does stylish and fabulously cut power dressing so well. I would tune into question time to see what she was wearing as well as what she was saying.

jumpingbeans · 22/05/2009 08:59

Pete Burns, he spins me right round baby!

edam · 22/05/2009 09:02

Terry Pratchett would be fantastic. So wise. Except the poor man has Alzheimers so would probably turn it down.

slug · 22/05/2009 09:13

Mark Thomas

southeastastra · 22/05/2009 09:14

charlie brooker would be entertaining

angelene · 22/05/2009 09:15

Charlie Brooker

angelene · 22/05/2009 09:16

x-posts sea!

purplemonkeydishwasher · 22/05/2009 09:16
