Arf at tiredemma saying what others are thinking but not exactly brave enough to express out loud.

This is a horrid ambush by the mag responsible BUT it is sooo upsetting for those children Their diet is clearly not great (even if we allow for journalistic licence) and they are v likely to have the same food and weight issues as their mother unless someone steps in. But who should do this?

Northernlurker · 28/04/2009 18:39

WEll I think the diet sounds dreadful and she needs some serious cooking lessons. That said - I wouldn't fancy my chances of getting THREE babies out of the house by myself every day and all the scorn thats been poured on the thryoid issue - well plainly her diet is crap and unhealthy but if she does have an underactive thryoid that won't be helping! thryoid here

NotmyELFtoday · 28/04/2009 19:07

Where I live, when I used to go to the HV, it was a common occurance that the babies would be dressed just in babygrows. Esp those with twins / an older child as well.
Could never work out if I were a snob for thinking it was odd that the babies were not dressed!

I think the diet could do with some improving, but I dont see anything wrong with the "big is beautiful"... not that big, but I'm fed up of hearing parents say to very young children "you'll get fat"

TheLadyEvenstar · 28/04/2009 19:29

NotMy, I must be a snob too as neither ds has ever gone out dressed in just a baby grow...actually tell a lie ds2 has once when he was about 8m old and poorly.

Stupid cow

mrstimlovejoy · 28/04/2009 21:06

ffs lazy cow.surely buying fresh food is cheaper than the shit she feeds them, just pure lazyness selfish woman.

TwoIfBySea · 28/04/2009 21:14

If that isn't child abuse then I don't know what is. Her babies arteries must look the same as a 40 year olds! She is killing them.

Although scrambled eggs on toast, since when was that bad? It isn't anything other than ignorance, and perhaps a desire that her children don't try and achieve anything more in life than she has.

NotmyELFtoday · 28/04/2009 21:26

crumpets are not too bad either, depending on the amount of butter.

DD lurves crumpets.

TheLadyEvenstar · 28/04/2009 21:36

good job i am not being watched with what i eat i have lashings a little bit of butter.

BUT I make sure ds's eat well......ds2 has not eaten tonight he fell asleep at 5.30 and is snoring still.

if she eats 3000 calories a day then that is the reason for her being obese. Too many people claim to have health problems that cause their obesity when actually they're just eating unhealthily and won't admit it.

Those babies should be taken into care IMO.

It's bad enough that she does it, but then selling her story - it's nothing to be proud of.

SlartyBartFast · 28/04/2009 22:25

dreadful article.

australian news

onagar · 28/04/2009 22:45

Do those kids look hugely obese to anyone else as they don't to me. I suspect The Sun improved the story to make it 'interesting'

SlartyBartFast · 28/04/2009 22:47

what i don't understand is how did this story get into the paper rag??

and all that claptrap about not getting them dressed, having piles of laundry and only being in the relationship for 4 weeks. What the Fuck difference does that make?>?

nooka · 29/04/2009 07:21

That Australian case is straight abuse/neglect though as the babies were very very underweight (on a diet of 90% water), so a very different kettle of fish. I would hope those women get prosecuted.

alicecrail · 29/04/2009 07:35

Did i imagine it or did it say the kids weigh 17lbs each? because they look a hell of a lot bigger!!

TheLadyEvenstar · 29/04/2009 07:46

Alice, I thought that as well. when i read they are apparently only 17lb each.

I have a thyroid problem, it is no joke. It has made me heavier but I don't weigh 29 stone, I weigh over less than half of what she does.

That isn't thyroid, that is over-eating.

donnie · 29/04/2009 13:00

pmsl@ 'hideous fat beast'

agree!

expatinscotland · 29/04/2009 13:01

I have low thyroid at present, too, after childbirth.

I'm about two stone over where I should be. Not 29 stone.

I agree with TIBS

Kimi · 29/04/2009 16:44

OMG has this woman no brain at all? How much salt and fat does this women give her children a day?
Is she mad? Veg once a week? Big is beautiful? Um no love it is a heart attack waiting to happen.
Is there no one that can educate this woman?
Poor kids.

chequersmate · 29/04/2009 16:46

I read this in Closer today.

I hate all this 'let's point and laugh at the fat, low-intelligence people' crap the tabloids keep on churning out.

Obviously there's an issue and the authorities should be doing more to educate this woman.

But she's a single parent of triplets - so what if she doesn't dress them every day, I bet I'd have days like that too in her shoes.

AMY678 · 30/04/2009 11:31

I have low thyroid and im only about a stone overweight and I healthy eat of course she is gonna have trouble with the rubbish she consumes, also I feel for the poor babies what sort of life they gonna have? chewed up junk food indeed!
