Just wondered. A little bit political...
a) how did you vote last time (if at all?)
b) how will you vote this time (if at all)?
c) what to you is the deciding issue of this election?
d) if you had to make love (not war) with one politician (past, present, senior or backbench?) who would it be?

What about apathy and disillusion?

Which is how the Tories will get back in.

With a bit of luck.

JoolsToo · 12/04/2005 19:35

caligula - I don't do 'sleaze'

MissChief · 12/04/2005 19:35

tactically for the new dad's party - want to oust our complacent local tory boy MP, might have voted labour if they had a fighting chance locally of getting in. As for fanciable politicians, admit to v. dodgy taste - also a Clinton fan and Portillo in his younger days...

Have you always been a Conservative, Gobbledigook?

OP posts:
Gobbledigook · 12/04/2005 19:36

Aye.

Caligula · 12/04/2005 19:42

JT if you don't do sleeze, you're in the wrong party!

I could never understand why people fancied Portillo - I always thought he was repulsive. In fact, all the Tories except Ken Clarke, who has a certain robust charm, were repulsive.

The new bunch are slightly better; I can't remember if it's Dominic Grieve or Oliver Letwin who actually looks like you might take your knickers off in his company after half a bottle of wine...

Caligula · 12/04/2005 19:42

And of course, the amazing Boris Johnson!

motherinferior · 12/04/2005 19:43

I think you're right about Che.

motherinferior · 12/04/2005 19:45

But NOT about Boris.

I have admitted to a weakness for Donald Dewar already today. AND once - after meeting him and being vigorously flirted with - for John Prescott

JoolsToo · 12/04/2005 19:45

if I was held at gunpoint this is my man

Caligula · 12/04/2005 19:46

Look at the lefties in history: Lenin, Che, Trotsky - each of them perfectly shaggable. Embarrassingly, even Stalin was a looker when he was young. Their right wing counterparts - Gladstone, Disraeli, Harold Macmillan, Churchill.

I've always thought there was something there...

Caligula · 12/04/2005 19:47

Cor, 'e's a bit of all right JT! Bit of a smoothie lounge lizard - who the hell is he?!

motherinferior · 12/04/2005 19:47

I thought Dizzy was supposed to be a bit of a one. Or was that just in Queen Victoria's opinion?

JanH · 12/04/2005 19:48

a) can't remember but possibly Green, just to help them feel a bit better
b) probably ditto (safesafesafe Tory seat, what else is a girl to do? And our Labour candidate just defected to the LibDems!)
c)I was just asked this in a survey and of the choices given I went safely domestic - education, NHS etc.
d)For his mind and wit and charming smile, Matthew Parris (reading his autobiography at the moment). But also wouldn't kick Boris or Alistair out of bed.

JoolsToo · 12/04/2005 19:48

thats all lefties are good for - and while they're busy in the bedroom .......

motherinferior · 12/04/2005 19:49

nope, just looked, you're right.

JanH · 12/04/2005 19:49

(Two Tories and a spin doctor, not good news )

CountessDracula · 12/04/2005 19:49

labour
Lib Dem (tactical as I live in a Lib Dem constituency where the tories are not too far behind and Labour don't have a chance)
Education if I would have to choose one plus keeping the arsewipe Tories out.
None, I don't fancy any of them

motherinferior · 12/04/2005 19:49

Jan dear, Mr Parris is very lovely - I've met him too - but you do realise, of course, that wit and conversation are all you'd get, don't you?

JanH · 12/04/2005 19:51

Yes, I know, MI

(Hence qualification! But luckily I could listen to him talk all night )

JoolsToo · 12/04/2005 19:51

Alan Duncan - get me posting from Le Guardian!

victoriapeckham · 12/04/2005 19:53

It says he is one of the smallest men in Parliament.
