Just wondered. A little bit political...
a) how did you vote last time (if at all?)
b) how will you vote this time (if at all)?
c) what to you is the deciding issue of this election?
d) if you had to make love (not war) with one politician (past, present, senior or backbench?) who would it be?

I've met him too, and "something of the night" is way too flattering. Makes him sound slightly dangerous and exciting. Something of the wet, bleak afternoon in Norfolk would be more accurate.

How have you met so many of them? are you really Mrs T?, AW? Cherie?

hunkersneakymunker · 12/04/2005 22:18

a) Lib Dem
b) Lib Dem
c) Labour are bandwagon-jumping arses. Tories are worse ("Are you thinking what we're thinking?" I seriously bloody doubt it - you seem to quite like Michael Howard and think you can do a decent job of hospitals and education - my memory's a bit longer than you'd like it to be!)
d) Another vote for Josh Lyman

JoolsToo · 12/04/2005 22:20

see you're still being 'sneaky'

victoriapeckham · 12/04/2005 22:21

I get about. Have met Alistair, Cherie, Tony, Michael, Sandra, Portillo (his wife is excellent fun), Matthew Taylor... er that s it. Rarely watch Question Time without someone I know being on panel.

I am indeed, ooTslooJ

Gobbledigook · 12/04/2005 22:22

JT - will you please take note of the thread for Mums with older children - Puff and I are tapping our feet waiting....

Sorry, carry on.

Davros · 12/04/2005 22:28
  1. Can't remember but def not Labour
2. Don't know but def not Labour 3. Special Needs education, Inclusion, provision for people with special needs and/or disability 4. Dennis Skinner

I don't believe that MN is 90% leftie, they are just the ones who LOVE to talk about it.

Gobbledigook · 12/04/2005 22:33

Maybe Davros but an awful lot on here read The Guardian - bleurgh, dreadful, dreadful paper.

ionesmum · 12/04/2005 22:42

I wish I knew who I was going to vote for. My party (Green) don't field a candidate here because of lack of funds - this area is true blue Tory so they'd rather spend their dosh where they will get a better showing. Last time I voted Lib Dem but have gone off them - though congrats to Mrs Kennedy! - so will probably cast a protest vote - not voting being wrong IMO because of the struggle women had to get te vote in the first place, and the people all around the world who are still struggling for the same thing.

Fave politicians (British) are Simon Hughes and Kate Hoey.

ionesmum · 12/04/2005 22:44

Oh, and the deciding issues for me are climate change and education.

3tinkers · 12/04/2005 23:06

labour all the the wftc/ctc pay for many things cant see the blue party helping out in the same way to familys like mine

LGJ · 12/04/2005 23:07

Early and often

JanH · 12/04/2005 23:12

GDG, please do explain why "dreadful"?

Prufrock · 12/04/2005 23:23

Did anybody read Glanda Jacksons piece in "The Liberal" (it ws free with Indy this weekend -really rather good might buy it in future). She was basically saying, look past Tony to all the good things the Labour Party has done, especially as TB will only be here for another 2 years, and the Party could be here for much longer. It almost convinced me.

CountessDracula · 12/04/2005 23:24

Funny that "are you thinking what I'm thinking" stuff. Whenever I see it I always think "Well yes, if you are thinking what a bunch of c**ts you are, then I am"

snafu · 13/04/2005 08:39

CD

You'd think they would have chosen something a little less ripe for piss-taking.

muminlondon · 13/04/2005 09:34

JanH, that school meals thing doesn't surprise me somehow, but I am disappointed. I'm still disappointed that the government wants to allow the food industry lobby to hijack the agenda on the schools meals trust.

Even nursery education vouchers were originally a Tory policy. There's very little difference between Tony's government and Major's government in terms of their adoration of the private sector involvement although the tories have just lost their marbles completely since then. They missed a trick not voting Kenneth Clarke as leader - he is the only possible tory leader who wouldn't have taken us into war.

JoolsToo · 13/04/2005 09:39

agree about Ken Clarke or of course AD! why are all the scrummy ones gay?!

Davros · 13/04/2005 09:42

Glenda Jackson is my MP, she wont' be getting my vote.
I still don't believe that the majority of MN is leftie/Guarian reading, they are just the ones who LOVE to talk about it!

wild · 13/04/2005 09:43

lol countess

Bozza · 13/04/2005 09:59

a) Green
b) Labour
c) family friendly policies and to ensure Tories don't get in. Its a safe Labour seat (at least I think - Wakefield, but must check before voting) so have considered a protest vote for Lib Dems (agree with some of their policies and they were definitely the only anti-Iraq party - don't get paulosgirl's stance on this one).
d) Alistair Campbell because he supports my team. (They're not really that crappy JanH). Also have to confess to agreeing with Eowyn so no amazingly you are not the only one. Clinton maybe. Blair at one time. Paddy Ashdown....

snafu · 13/04/2005 10:45

I'd just like to point out that all last night's talk of AC led me to the filthiest dream last night. You know, the kind that stays with you all day?

So, and

huskygirl · 13/04/2005 10:52

(a)I didn't
(b)I wont
(c)Have no idea, probably the war or NHS
(d)Couldn't name any apart from Blair!!

Now ask me what flavour crisps i prefer and thats a different story.......!

ionesmum · 13/04/2005 10:54

Why won't you vote huskygirl? (given that people die for the right that we in this country take for granted...)
