illegal food colouring -foods contaminated

On the FSA website theres a list of foods that are being withdrwan cos of a potentially cancer causing dye having been put in them accidently. Scary stuff

list

The most worrying is worcester suace for me as I tend to add that to quite a few things

I use it lots too - but thankfully my ones ok - Best before date well before the ones affected.

thankfully most of the things affected seem to be ready meals - of which we don't use any of in this house

nothing for us, at first glance thankfully

does anyone know what they mean by the dates. they say that manufactured before- does anyone know how long before?

Can't see pesto. I use Lea and Perrins Worcestershire Sauce and this one is Crosse and Blackwells Worcester Sauce. I wonder if all sales of things that sound like that will go down?

OMG - I have just fed my two a Tesco ready meal which is on this list. I hardly ever give them ready meals but when DH is away now and again it makes life easier. Why oh why have I not seen the news today? How serioius is this? Should I be pannicking - they ate loads of it

Bathmummy - try not to worry too much The Food Standards Agency said those most at risk were people eating contaminated products regularly and over a long period of time. I'm sure your children will be fine

thanks morningmayhem. Just visited the BBC website and seems to say what you are saying. Given me a big wake up call. I started off feeding my children so carefully with organic veg and it has just slipped with time and with arrival of DD2. Poor DD2 - at least DD1 had a good couple of years of careful feeding whereas I have been far too easygoing about DD2. I am sure she has far too much salt and processed food in her diet, She does eat fresh veg, snack on raisins rather than sweets etc. but I often slip and let her eat the odd rubbish meal or junk snacks.
I think it is time I revisited the organic veg box scheme and got cooking
