I’ve been reading that the man responsible for throwing the child into the crocodile enclosure has been placed on conditional bail as they aren’t considered fit enough for questioning.

What are the conditions likely to be? Are they monitored? Is it released to a secure hospital?

Otherwise it seems strange to me someone too unwell to be questioned but unwell enough to throw a 3yo to a crocodile is deemed well enough to be allowed to roam the streets again?

Or to ensure that social care staff are trained well enough and there is enough funding to ensure adequate staffing.

If you (or your husband, child or best friend) had a car accident this evening which left you with a brain injury that meant that you behaved erratically would you be happy to be locked up for life ‘just in case’. Could happen to any of us

Surely it depends on the level of risk ? Or is it always an absolute right to freedom with none of the responsibilities? If I lost my cognitive ability I wouldn’t want to do that to an innocent child even though I wouldn’t be held to account.

He should be by law be locked up for this he was and still is a danger to the public he was 30 year old male yes he had learning difficulties and unfit to be questioned but he should have been charged these carers tried to remove the disabled guy from the zoo they got caught they should also be prosecuted and inquiring into these carers they to are at fault. That poor child he now has to have surgary on his arm god nose the trauma of this happening to him and his parents. This guy should be named so that the public can be protected

The child is innocent in this and a victim as well it must have been traumatic for the child and his parents you never know who is about I blame the two carers and norwich council for letting this man fall under rador only a few years ago this Jonty he pushed and threw a young boy from 10th floor museum they said lessons will be learned and it would never happen again well it has. I got a neigbour who has paranoia and severe mental health spent time in prison for flashing and using violence ok now he goes to parks and pulls his trousers down in public outside school gates parks and flats. He is deemed ok and fit enough to live by himself he his unsupervised but has two carers come in twice a day to check on him he has a history of violence. He has gone up to women children and put hos hand in his trousers and did things sexual things yet he is deemed okay to live by himself. He tried to set fire 3 times to his flat I live next door to him. The system is a disgrace things do happen like assaults and attempted murder I remember in 19o6 that a school head master got stabbed to death by paranoid person they has been cases of things like this happening I'm terrified of going out my front door in case I get attacked by these people. The law needs to be much tougher much tougher so that the public are protected

The law does need to change and change fast you cant have unsupervised really disabled people and ones with severe mental health going around doing things like this throwing young child of museums and into crocodiles enclosures you cant blame the little boy parents. I'm glad the child survived and he is now at home but the mentally and emotionally would have a impact. You never know who is next to you near you if someone got mental health they could very easy snap be ok one min and not the next. I know this my neigbour as severe mental health conditions its terrifying really scary the way he acts no one is doing anything about it at all he gets fallen though the carpet we all do. My empathy goes to the little boy and his parents I hope he dosesnt stop going to zoos and days you get really bad people everywhere you go. But on serious note these really serious mental health people should not be out in public places they are to unpredictable it would really scare me
