Because these arrests and if it ever got that far, convictions are in addition to LL. These are management personnel, it doesn't mean LL didn't commit the acts but it likely suggests that people/policies/procedures allowed her to carry on when she should have been stopped sooner. Corporate manslaughter is an entirely different crime.

A good investigation would work out everyone who needed arresting before bringing anyone to trial.

It's fascinating reading this thread because you realise most people are very primitive still. About 90% (possibly more) of the thread is just emotion and trust in the court system. People seem to lack the intellectual ability to digest new evidence or understand nuance or complexity.
They want, perhaps need, to hate someone... And they can't cope with the possibility of things not being that clear cut.

The media doesn’t help with that - there are very few balanced views

Personally I wouldn't let any normal neonatal nurse look after my child. Even if they had a spotless record, human error happens.

Medical professionals should have to wear bodycams they can't tamper with, that record all the time they are with patients.

So you would look after your baby on a neonatal unit because you are so well trained in looking after premature & ill babies, or you would withhold treatment of care because human error happens, & you would be charged with child endangerment/ abuse. Think you need to think about your statement.

Some of the language reflects that.

I wouldn’t waste your time arguing with her worshippers on this thread @AtIusvue
she was found guilty and is guilty that’s that!
she’s exactly where she should be & will remain.

So even if she is innocent you want her jailed for the rest of her life, but happy for doctors that caused those deaths to walk around Scott free?

TizerorFizz · 01/07/2025 17:38

@Catpuss66 What have these 3 got to do with her guilt or innocence? Corporate manslaughter is totally separate.

Catpuss66 · 01/07/2025 17:39

Viviennemary · 01/07/2025 16:07

She is guilty. She was found guilty by a jury. So all this people who will always think she is guilty?? It's nonsense.

So all those people that have been imprisoned & served years behind bars then subsequently freed because new evidence was found. They were found guilty by a jury but you still think they should stay behind bars? Think you are nonsense.

TizerorFizz · 01/07/2025 17:39

@RefreshingMist What do these arrays tell you about the original conviction? Nothing.

I quite agree. If Letby was innocent Prof Tanswell (not Tranwells) would have come back from the dead to say so instead of leaving it to his living co-author.

Actually my phone keeps autocorrecting to tranwells for some reason. However you knew who I meant Alan Kieth Tanswell. How do you know he’s dead? I can’t find anything that says he’s passed/deceased?

Only on here & Reddit is he apparently dead.

Chintzcardboard · 01/07/2025 17:42

Experience where you confirm the police … what did you say - “made up a crime to fit a person”?

Respectfully, there were trials - witnesses tested, jury decisions. It’s been done more than once. And you are on MN w 30 yrs doing something.

She’s still guilty even if some old guy international expert who was not involved in trial has “statistics”.

It's an interesting read. I note the parts where nurses are requesting cctv to protect themselves from accusations of malpractice.

Jeez, I've just read the whole of this.

I don't know what to say.

So much is wrong with this conviction.

The volume of cover up and corruption.

Evans and Jayaram should be facing criminal charges.

You seem to have posted the wrong story.

I don't see any suggestion from today's news coverage that Letby is 'off the hook'. More likely they are going after the managers who failed to stop her.

Not sure why that link ended up being the wrong one.

However, I haven't used the phrase 'off the hook' anywhere. Perhaps you're mixing me up with someone else.

Peter O’Sullivan was found guilty by a jury. Is he still guilty?

Ah, I meant I wouldn't let them take care of the baby unsupervised.

I knew because Shoo Lee talked about it in either an interview or the preamble to his Letby report but I also checked before posting and there is a 2022 research paper in his field dedicated to his memory which I found easily enough.

Not being snippy but honestly it is much easier to find things online if you are scrupulous about spelling and check for rogue autocorrects.

I’ve found endless things online about him & all his research, findings & achievements but what I haven’t found is confirmation of his apparent death.

I’ve only skimmed the link but still can’t see anything referring to his demise only cross-reference to the paper. I’ll have to have a proper read through as I have only glanced over & maybe missed it.

You need to read it a bit more carefully. It's there.

See this scientific paper from January 2022. https://www.atsjournals.org/doi/full/10.1164/rccm.202104-1021OC

Scroll down (or hit F3 and search) to find "The authors dedicate this paper to the memory of Dr. A. Keith Tanswell (Professor Emeritus, University of Toronto)."

But doctors lied and tried to blame her for moving breathing tubes, notes were changed, interventions were omitted in the notes, they lied under oath, guess we'll have to wait and see what the charges are against them. She may or may not be guilty, there's doubt raised that maybe there were no deliberate acts of harm or those poor babies were murdered.

How do you know all this, where you there?

It's literally in the article linked to in the very original post of this thread. A doctor, a key witness , lied. They withheld critical evidence and lied.
