Yes, I thought he would be isolated with the child abusers and paedophiles. Maybe they attacked him anyway. He was so bad they did not extend professional courtesy to him.

Well, it's unfortunate that when you are an abuser of a child because you're bigger and stronger than them, and a violent psychopath, you then get locked up with people who are bigger, stronger and also violent psychopaths you might end up on the recieving end.
I just hope that if there's any investigation, no prison guard gets dragged through the mire, whether they allowed it intentionally or not.
Prisons are violent places and child abusers are very often targeted by other criminals, it's common knowledge. You don't want to face that, don't abuse and kill children.

I get what you mean but I don’t believe the majority of criminals are in for child abuse - even the violent ones. I think many have harmed their fellow men and some will have harmed women too (which is horrendous ).

However the child abusers are probably in the minority and many of the prisoners will have suffered horrific abuse themselves as children so they may take his offences quite personally.

With other prisoners they may be able to downplay whatever they’ve did and not everyone will know all the details. But I think in this situation where it’s very clear exactly what he did there’s less wriggle room.

Pity the medics who have to patch him up.... hmmm

It’s shocking this was allowed to happen. Huge failure on the part of HMPS.

But he’s in prison with men just like him; who have committed similar crimes and are of similar character. I really didn’t think he would be seen as remarkable in that environment.

This isn't how it works. Burglars, men who have committed gbh, even those who've committed domestic abuse, really don't see themselves on the same level as sex offenders and child abusers. Not to say they're good guys by any means - many will happily take out a prison guard for shits and giggles. But the ultimate kudos in higher security prisons is to take out a rapist or child abuser. They are the marked men.

Wouldn't these prisoners have their jail sentence increased or privileges removed if they do that? It is not like the US where you have people on death row or life who have nothing to lose. Genuine question.

How would they know who did it? I imagine nobody saw anything!
