MN has a long history of allowing racism and banning those who report and challenge it. This is nothing new.

Must be the case because I can see no other reason to let racists all over MN. I suspect the mods are tucked up in bed and the volunteer unpaid night watch have been left to deal with this shit.

I really doubt all 35 will show up to a large degree. Huge counter protests are planned as well. I just think they need to actively warn people at this point, secure mosques and police stations, and make people aware so they can move their cars or lock up for the weekend if they want to

I am in a group that contains a few right wing racists. One of them circulated a claim from some nutter group he is in, asserting that the attacker was an illegal immigrant who had boated over from France, and strongly implying that he was a Muslim.

He got quite shirty when I pointed out that his false story was intended to stir up racial hatred and the violence we have seen. I asked if he had reported himself to the police.

Apparently not.

We are visiting Weymouth this weekend 🤦🏻‍♀️. The local news only report that there is rumours for 5pm by the jubilee clock. We were planning on going to the beach and parking nearby so will have to leave sooner to avoid it

The government needs to make platforms legally liable for proliferating hate-speech. We all have the right to free speech but if it’s illegal to shout at people in the streets it should be illegal to post online. They should set up a national task force for online hate speech if they haven’t already to ensure laws are applied equally and properly.

@Rainbowsponge I agree. It's outrageous locals should live in fear, probably it's what the rioters want, but I think securing property is necessary. It's good there will be large counter protests.

I’m 5 minutes from where this happened and still listening to the police helicopter overhead and I completely agree with you. There are definitely a small minority of racist thugs hellbent on destruction but many more people have been swept along because they feel disenfranchised and unheard. They’re sick of hearing about ‘The Northern Powerhouse’ and ‘Levelling Up’ but their lives never getting better. It doesn’t excuse tonight’s behaviour but it’s a mixture of generational poverty, poor education, lack of jobs, lack of aspiration and much much more.

i had already (before commenting) reported thread to be racist and inciting hatred. When MN did nothing I called OP out on this and my comment deleted. The OP then went on to state that people born in Britain to immigrant parents were less British. That comment obviously deleted and then funnily enough MN decided to pull whole thread
