She does look a bit different. But at least she's out and about.

That’s not her, just a couple that looks vaguely like them, if that was them why is no one turning their heads to look at them and why would they be out shopping in public, they have people to do that for them.

Kate’s always done shopping as part of their “we’re just a normal couple keeping things normal for our kids” PR gambit to help them do as little royal work as possible – because they’re just a normal couple juggling the kids! There were often pap photos of her in the Waitrose car park in Wales, if I’m remembering his helicopter years correctly.

I’ve wasted too much of my morning so
my final comments:

Nelson Silva was filming before the couple. appeared. Do you think he saw them, ran to his car, and then waited for them to emerge, and then start filming… and then stop filming just as they began to get closer?!?

I don’t!

The thing that worries me is… I actually do think it looks really like William. Surely to god he wouldn’t stage it with a lookalike (would he???) … so maybe the whole thing has been staged, but with Kate??

Yes, people say “oh in Windsor it’s not a big deal, everyone’s used to seeing them”…. But that was before she went vanished for 84 ruddy days and sparked a global frenzy!

So: totally, totally staged. Weirdly good William though. And if it is Kate, the bystanders are staged too.

There is a whole swirl of silences, weird behaviours, faked photos, retracted appearance announcements, etc, etc. King Charles could stop this in an instant, but he’s not. The potential repercussions could affect the Constitution of these isles, and while I do actually think the behaviours people are displaying are perhaps displaced delayed grief for the late Queen on some level, a certain degree of speculation is normal, human and perhaps in the circumstances even healthy. We pay for these chancers!

This is the weirdest aspect of the whole thing. On the one hand they may be pleased with the level of interest as it does show that the monarchy can still command the media’s attention and the public’s interest (even if in this case in negative circumstances). The flip side IMO is that it shows how ill suited the system of inherited monarchy is to a modern democracy. It’s the kind of circus you’d expect from the Kardashians, not the institution that is head of state. Expecting all the individuals of one single family to be perfectly suited to the role, and to keep providing exemplary monarch after monarch just won’t work in the modern world where any weaknesses/mistakes/illegal behaviour of the rich and famous is easily exposed. Plain reality and the concept of royalty don’t mix.

I hope you are being paid for this…

I was thinking the same about you because you’ve had time to do fuck all else than peddle this shite for days now.

Teddleshon · 19/03/2024 12:59

I saw Kate with George and Charlotte at the Houghton Horse Trials a few years back, walking with 2 bodyguards a few feet behind. Not one single person noticed or recognised them.

Ellaelle · 18/03/2024 20:42

Lol that's not her! Looks nothing like her unless she had plastic surgery and changed her face

I was going to say this.
I laughed at loud when I read a theory that they were bringing in a body double to take her place, but looking at the blurry photos of her that've been released that look a bit like her but just not quite right, it could actually be true 😅

Brawcolli · 19/03/2024 13:00

So people who would behave unethically defend others behaving unethically. Shocker.
Maybe Kate can get a sick note next time for a year?

I hardly think the situation you’ve been arguing about is unethical, lol

Scottishskifun · 19/03/2024 13:02

I really don't get the obsession with hounding the woman!
Her medical issues are nothing to do with the public, it was clear she wouldn't be about until at least April. Let her recover in peace and not add to stress by a social media storm.

For goodness sake. This hysteria over a photo is ridiculous. Yes it was inadvisable and I’m surely highly regretted that she chose to do that. It is hardly bloody crime of the century though. Christ if you’re under so much public scrutiny and feel shit or think you look shit, the temptation must be huge.

she wanted to put a nice photo out, she messed up. It hardly means she’s some criminal mastermind, using body doubles and on the skive.

JackOrMeryl · 19/03/2024 13:03

To those saying they would stay off work the whole time they've been signed off even if they felt well enough to go back to work: if you were the employer, if it were your business, and one of your employees did this, how would you feel? Because for many smaller businesses, this type of behaviour is what contributes to them shutting shop and people losing their jobs.

@AliasGrape the faked Mothers Day photo for a start.

A photo of Kate and her kids, released with the message 'Happy Mother's Day' on Mothers Day - where the meta data shows it was saved just before Mother's Day and taken at their home.

I get it was edited - and badly - but I just .... can't bring myself to care! Every image of her is scrutinised to the nth degree, she wanted it to look good and maybe she was looking/ feeling less than her usual self.

I do understand that that's most people's main issue but I just can't make the leap that others seem to have made that - badly edited photo = something very sinister is going on = constitutional crisis and proof that there never was a Kate or whatever else it is that people have dreamed up.

ThisGreyPoster · 19/03/2024 13:08

So we are supposed to believe Kate looked so poorly that she had to edit a Mothers Day photo to look well. But that shortly after she appeared at Windsor Farm Shop looking sprightly and years younger than before her operation?

Me neither. Once we saw her out and about it became very clear what happened, which is she edited the pic to look as good as she could wanting to send out a nice pic. Christ I’d habe done the same if I was as scrutinised as her.

i can’t get over how some folks are hyperventilating over it still

She thought she looked poorly and wanted the best pic she could. I see that as fairly human when you’ve been though serious illness.

and as for looking years younger, she looks slimmer as she’s lost weight due to her illness. Until you see a proper close up, you’ve no idea what she looks like. She’s simply make up free and thinner. That’s all.

All the time, money and help in the world and they couldn't manage a single decent photo? Even if the first was a cockup, its not as if their camera is out of film and that was their one shot...
But she is well enough to wander around carrying shopping? Just bizarre behavior.

ThisGreyPoster · 19/03/2024 13:13

I can watch the video. The woman there looks younger in her face.

We're not "hounding" her.

We are discussing her on a public forum.

Huge difference.

No one is 'expecting you to believe' anything?! For starters, nobody at the palace has said she edited the photos because she looked so poorly. She said she edited the photos. No reason given. Some posters have suggested she might not have been happy with how she looked and so edited it. Others have suggested it was edited to get all the kids smiling and looking at the camera. Maybe she tried to use a better picture of herself because she was feeling critical of her appearance. All speculation, nobody knows the reason behind the editing.

What it almost certainly won't be, is some huge conspiracy where they edited it to hide the fact that she was dead/never existed/has been replaced by someone else.

Five mins ago you apparently couldn’t tell if it was her, now you can tell she’s younger than..what?

personally I can see a make up free woman, with a thinner face, and incredibly thin legs, in a long distance grainy shot that has enough detail to show me it’s Kate, but not enough that I can make out wrinkles or skin texture like you and your magic vision can.

You do realise that when the picture was saved means nothing right?

I've got pictures from 10 years ago with a save date of last year.

No one is saying the fake photo is a constitutional crisis, but that it's extremely concerning that KP sent an image to the world's media agencies that was fake. They've opened themselves to ridicule and every photo submitted in future will be regarded with suspicion.

Kate has had extensive media training, she should have been advised that this was a massive faux pas.
