Johnson confronted with a message from Cummings at the end of March that said "we nearly killed millions of people" to which the then PM replied "totally f**king hopeless".

"I would stress the word 'nearly'," Johnson replies.

I understand that Johnson says that he and his government did there best.
The trouble is his best was crap, but that was entirely predictable to those who had followed his career before he became PM.

His number 1 fan has inadvertently thrown him under the bus here by saying he refused to lockdown when everyone told him too. Which is not what he just said. He seems to be going down the ‘I would have locked down but the rest of the cabinet didn’t want to’ road that all the other cabinet members went down.

In passing he mentioned that the gender balance of his advisors was wrong and there should have been more women in the mix.
