Is anyone going to watch this man give evidence today?

Apparently there is a vigil in Barnard Castle ahead of this.

The shopping trolleys emoji seems to mean they think Carrie was controlling Boris from the last few days. Wonder if this will feature.

At least if anyone wants to know why a female denominated parenting forum gave so little regard to children, and scoffed and attacked their way through any mention of it from posters

@jgw1 can carry that flag, it’s all there.

Now that the government have finally learnt about the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 it’s pretty clear that they are now readying themselves to find a way to use the very alluring Part Two

I can’t find the exact quote from the time but I believe the Sunday Times called that bit of the statute some of the most terrifying legislation ever passed

Live inquiry resumed ten minutes ago. Crucial evidence here.

Still at it I see.

Any mention of children. It was the same during the pandemic I’m sure, bad show.

Poor Dc with such lack of care from adults.

Feel free to explain why a Minister for Children in the cabinet would have been listened to when the available evidence shows that other Ministers including the one responsible for Children were being ignored?

AutumnCrow · 08/11/2023 14:03

Sedwill explaining why he didn't believe Hancock

AutumnCrow · 08/11/2023 14:08

(I wonder when Sedwill and Case knew about Hancock's affair. Just being nosey.)

I won’t explain more to you

Other than to say there was a huge problem on here for children having a voice during the pandemic and you were a big part of undermining that.

And still going.

If people question why on earth a parenting site reacted so badly then it’s easy to see.

AutumnCrow · 08/11/2023 14:11

Sedwill is saying they used the Brexit model/structure of governance for the covid response 'as we knew that worked'.

(FFS)

AutumnCrow · 08/11/2023 14:20

HK, KC: 'problems concerning Johnson's leadership, his oscillation ...' [thoughout 2020]

Sedwill: that's how he operated

AutumnCrow · 08/11/2023 14:22

Sedwill explaining that he tried to insulate his people in the civil service from the politics, without interfering in the politics of the democratically elected process

In the interests of factual accuracy and available for anyone to verify using the search function I did not post on here in 2020.

That's a fancy way of saying Johnson was crap.

The pandemic lasted longer than that and your attacking, mocking style hasn’t changed (and if that name only)

As I said poor dc with such lack of care from adults during a pandemic.

Sedwill on wanting Hancock sacked: 'that was gallows humour'

Sedwill on wanting Hancock sacked: 'that was gallows humour'

Well Hancock is the fall guy isn't he?

AutumnCrow · 08/11/2023 14:35

But Sedwill also says he left PM in no doubt that he thought the PM should replace Hancock as SoS for Health

AutumnCrow · 08/11/2023 14:37

Yes, @bombastix - the narrative here seems to be that Hancock stayed because Johnson oscillated and Sedwill and Case were not listened to.

Hugo Keith KC trying to drill down into this, and responsibilities and powers.

AutumnCrow · 08/11/2023 14:41

Sedwill: destabilising attacks on him and his role/office, the right time to go

AutumnCrow · 08/11/2023 14:44

Baroness Hallett asking a question. Were there not other structures in place other than COBR committees and the Cabinet committees to respond to a national emergency?

Sedwill saying there is still a big gap.

AutumnCrow · 08/11/2023 14:53

Q from 'Scottish Covid Bereaved' about structures and whether Sedwill as cabinet sec had proper mechanism via which he could liaise with his equivs in devolved administrations

Sedwill says yes liaison happened

Q: happenstance?

AutumnCrow · 08/11/2023 14:55

Sedwill presumed ... he imagines ... there was constant communication between officials in the devolved admins and the UK govt
