here - I think it is a fantastic example of why I hate the DM!!!

I didn't read a single comment about one of them having pale skin and red hair - whilst the other one seems to be quite naturally dark.

Carmenere · 21/02/2008 12:04

Oh FFS that article is pathetic, the woman would frazzle in the sun, it says more about the insecurities of the journo than the pop-tarts she is talking about. Talk about trying to stir up a bit of hatred and vitriol where blatantly none is meant.

Lulumama · 21/02/2008 12:05

wot carmenere said

talk about making something out of nothing

can't beleive I have been driven to comment on a DM article . Wonder if they'll publish it.

Disenchanted · 21/02/2008 12:12

Nicola's look is intimidatingly anti-holiday. She would prefer people to think she had returned from a spell in a TB clinic.

My mum had skin cancer and I would rather be pale than DEAD!

tortoiseSHELL · 21/02/2008 12:15

It's outrageous isn't it - she's got to be 'top risk factor' for skin cancer with that colouring, and she is pink in the photos, but instead of skin care she is guilty of 'sun snobbery'!!!

OP posts:
Baffy · 21/02/2008 12:17

What a load of rubbish!

jesuswhatnext · 21/02/2008 12:21

utter drivel!!!

MAMAZON · 21/02/2008 12:21

PMSL @ the use of WIFE SWAP as an indication of class value.

the articel is pure drivel. it has absolutly no journalistic merit at all.

as for the fact that she is apparantly a snob because she chooses not to allow herself to fry in the sun and run teh risk of sun damage and skin cancer....well there you go.

hedgehog1979 · 21/02/2008 13:04

no mention of the fact that the pale one is wearing a white dress which we all know makes you look paler anyway!!

tortoiseSHELL · 21/02/2008 13:07

It's scary that the person who wrote that is PAID TO WRITE...!!!!

CatIsSleepy · 21/02/2008 13:13

LOL @ 'sun snobbery"
thanks DM for coming up with a whole new category of snobbery I wouldn't have considered before

how strange they've removed the ability to comment on this article

AttilaTheMeerkat · 21/02/2008 13:54

Yet another stupid Daily Mail article.

As someone who also has very similar colouring to this young lady Nicola, I think she has been very sensible. People with pale skin, blue eyes and red hair do run a higher risk of sunburn let alone contracting malignant melanoma. It does look like Nicola has been sitting in the sun for a while perhaps with using an adequate amount of sunscreen, her arms and chest area look pink in colour.

nailpolish · 21/02/2008 13:56

that poor nicola is always being picked on. poor girl, i wish theyd leave her alone

that twat chris moyles is always on her case "the ugly one from girls aloud" he calls her. yes, and hes so gorgeous isnt he

MrsMattie · 21/02/2008 13:58

Polly Filler comes to mind. LMAO @ 'Women are not normally as pale as Roberts nor as tanned as Walsh' - what, all women - of all races? Or just weird, DM-reading, sallow skinned women? Vacuous claptrap doesn't even come close to describing it...

Elffriend · 21/02/2008 14:04

Y'know all those smacking = abuse threads? Is it still okay to slap idiot journos?

Please ?

My MIL reads the DM. Is there a support group anywhere?

florencefosterjenkins · 21/02/2008 14:12

These wretched bitchy articles in the DM are invariably accompanied by ever-so-slightly digitally enhanced photographs. They Photoshop them, always do. One half of the paper witters on about a lack of respect in society and the other half constantly publishes this type of disrespectful, venomous crap.

Kewcumber · 21/02/2008 14:13

"Is it still okay to slap idiot journos?" - I think its actually seen as a public service but only if you limit yourself to the idiot ones.

Elffriend · 21/02/2008 14:55

deal! that restriction should still keep me occupied for a while!

unknownrebelbang · 21/02/2008 17:55

What a load of bolleaux.

I'm rather pale-skinned AND I had TB as a baby.

How snobby must I be?

swiftyknickers · 21/02/2008 18:00

god i really hate the daily mail,it really is utter shit
