This journalist's ignorance is quite, quite staggering.
I am red-haired, pale skinned and freckled like Nicola Roberts and I wouldn't tan in a thousand years! God knows, before coming to this realisation I have tried everything to obtain even a healthy glow. I've tried "taking it slowly, a few minutes sun exposure a day and build it up gradually and still it's never happened. The best that's happened is I've burnt and peeled and gone white again. These days, if I want a light tan, I get it out of a bottle and I'm comfortable with that. I'm resigned to it.
If you have extremely fair skin like Nicola Roberts and I the colour of your skin is a warning to stay out of the sun - we can't take it. There's no choice in the matter.
As far as I'm concerned, those pictures of Nicola Roberts show that she is very obviously burnt and has tried her best to get a bit of colour. Probably by sitting next to her mates and sticking it out as best she can while they top up their tans with consumate ease.
I know exactly how she feels, I've been there, done that and got the tee-shirt on many a girly holiday with mates who only have to look at the sun to get a lovely even tan.
Contrary to what that idiotic journalist believes her to think, I bet Nicola would give her eye teeth to have a tan like her mate. But it's never gonna happend for her.
What I can't believe is why Nicola didn;t get her stylist to organise her a spray tan before she left and another top up before she came home?
From one who knows....
