Missing Woman Nicola Bulley 6

1000 replies

ofwarren · 09/02/2023 19:35

These threads are to discuss the disappearance of Nicola Bulley from St Michael's on Wyre.

No speculation without evidence please.

Here are some frequently asked questions, with answers:

1.Where do Nicola and her husband work?

They both work from home which is why he was at home on the day she went missing.

2.Where was the dog harness found / the phone?

Dog harness was found near the river edge not the bench, phone was on on/near the bench.

  1. Has the river been searched?

Yes by the police and volunteers from the Specialist Search team

  1. Had the dog been in the water, and maybe Ms Bulley went in after her?

Willow appeared distressed but ‘bone dry’, according to the woman who found her. There was no sign of her having gone in the river.

  1. Why would she leave her phone on the bench?

Nicola’s phone was found on the bench, still connected to a conference call. So whatever happened, there was no time to end the call or to alert others on the call.

  1. Why was she on mute with no video for her business meeting?

This was not unusual, She used to go on work meeting calls with video off and microphone

  1. Where was her partner while she was out walking their dog?

He was at home at the time.

  1. What about this abandoned house?

Its not abandoned. Its owned by a lovely family who have lived in the village for generations and would do anything they can to help in the search for Nikki.
It has been searched, inside and outside, from top to bottom by the police. This has been clarified with the family themselves and also with the police.
They have never refused entry to the police or told them they need a warrant to search.

  1. Did Nicola have a dog ball with her?

No she didn’t she used to but stopped taking a dog ball on walks.

  1. Was she swept out to sea?

The police Seargent has said it’s now a possibility Nicola’s body could have drifted out to sea.

  1. We’re CCTV cameras working in the area:

The CCTV camera which would have captured everything unfortunately wasn’t working. But the police are actively working to identify 700 motorists travelling in the Garstang Road area on the 27TH of January.

  1. Are there any other paths she could have gone down?

Apart from the river, there are only three exits, two of which are covered by CCTV. On her way in, she was seen by several people. No one saw her leave.

@SueG60 but you said there is no motive, how would you know?

bluebutterfly2023 · 09/02/2023 20:44

I agree with the police fixated on the water and also her husband calling the police as soon as he knew she was missing it makes me think she is a high risk missing person.

But surely if your partner was out walking the dog and then someone informed you they had found their phone and the dog you would phone the police? I’d maybe look for them first but I think he did that?

Oliveandbay · 09/02/2023 21:56

She's even posted maps of her walking routes - if someone wanted to do some harm it would be quite easy to know where she walks as she has posted her routes on a public profile! I'm now convinced she's been taken...

SueG60 · 09/02/2023 21:52

I'm not asking what her particular motive was, I'm asking what any plausible motive could be because its very difficult to find a single one that stands up to scrutiny thats the problem with that hypothesis

Do you know at some point it is OK to say you are wrong.

You have no idea.

Nor does anyone else.

But saying something that is not impossible is impossible is making you look pretty foolish.

@SueG60
In summary then your answers to my questions are:

  • you don't know how much she earns
  • she couldn't have known how much coverage there would be
  • you don't know whether she had a motive or life insurance

I just don't see how much she earns as relevant. I mean its probably a 35-40k job at a minimum. I just saw it as another reason why you'd not do a runner.

She could have known that the manor of the disappearance would lead to a lot more coverage than countless other ways she could have done it. Its not how you'd choose to do it to keep it low key is it

Financial motives would likely to be uncovered by police or come to light at a later date.

User963 · 09/02/2023 21:58

Have all the fields been searched around where she went missing. Someone up thread made a point about potentially collapsing elsewhere?

Oliveandbay · 09/02/2023 21:51

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I've just gone to look at her FB and I am really shocked to see her entire profile is open. Literally hundreds of photos of her & family and what's going on in her life/where they've been/what they're doing etc.

It would be very easy for someone to track a person like this and know where they are a lot of the time as she was sharing so much of her life on an open profile!

Maybe someone was stalking her?

I know I’m really surprised it hasn’t been shut down .

It's a circus just had a message off my son saying he's there and it packed with people. Just had to explain its not a tourist attraction and he shouldn't be there. I live about 20 minutes away but never heard of the place before this.
Feel sorry for the family and the residents living in the area. Hope they resolve this soon.

Sal

It's become the new Tik Tok fad, like Binley Mega Chippy. I'm sure the police will tell them all to GTFO

Ffs lol.. its impossible to stay hidden forever and live a decent life, I don't know how many more times I need to say it.

Short term laying low isn't the same as being in the clear and getting on with your life somewhere else. The police will know all about her interpersonal relationships too so if she'd gone off with somebody it would be suspicious if they suddenly left the area

Kernackered · 09/02/2023 22:03

I haven't read all the threads so don't know much about this. Does anyone know if they have searched along the canal not far from the river?
I ask because I walk my dogs there every Friday. Last Friday I had my eyes peeled peering into the hedges all along the canal path from Guys thatched hamlet to the Flower Bowl and back. The afternoon she went missing, so the week before my last walk, my dogs went mad for something inaccessible in the bushes by the aquaduct barking loads and not recalling. I caught them after a few minutes, put them on the lead, walked on a bit, let them off and one of them ran straight back to it. Now, it most likely was a rabbit or squirrel, same behaviour though they've never done that there before. It's just occurred to me to look up what is on the other side of the bushes and it's some kind of dead end track. If they don't think she was abducted, have they searched beyond the river?

Is that on FB?

I thought (OK only from earlier MN posts) that she'd locked down her privacy settings in December

You can say it until you are blue in the face but it doesn't make it true. It's unlikely but not impossible.

You have failed to acknowledge that at some point, after the media focus has died , down she might decide to 'appear' in terms of the police hunt and tell her family she doesn't want to be found. If she does that the police will tell the family but will not tell the public as it is not in the public interest.

I've not heard that they have searched any other waterways but I think it might be sensible to report this to the police.
It might be nothing, but it also might be something.

Still nobody has come up with any plausible coherent reasoning for why and how she'd do it though, I can't think of it myself but its not my hypothesis, its yours.

If she comes forward it will be reported to the media for sure, otherwise you'd have people reporting sightings all the time.

Oliveandbay · 09/02/2023 22:10

@DerangedViper I can see several map routes that she's posted back in Oct. Pretty sure one is of where she went missing from but I don't know the area but looks familiar to the maps they've used in the news.
ANYONE could have been following her movements/routines from afar.

Have you reported this to the police? You should if you haven't, it might help.

I'm sure this has been considered as a possibility. As one might expect, there's all kinds of crazy SM speculation about possible stalkers....e.g. someone with the same name as Nicola's ex-husband following multiple women with the same name on Strava etc.

TokyoSushi · 09/02/2023 22:12

I'm slightly ashamed to say that I've just looked at her mortgage broker FB page (I couldn't find another).

She seems to do that or a similar walk very, very regularly and the dog does seem to like going in the water. You'd know where to find her if you were that way inclined.

lifeturnsonadime · 09/02/2023 22:15

No you won't , the media circus will die down.
Look I have no idea what has happened but you are claiming things are impossible.

Most things are not impossible.

My friend's mother 'went missing' with 4 children under 10, it was less in the public eye but she eventually told the police she didn't want to be found and, as a competent adult, her wishes were respected.

At the moment the focus is on Nicola, give it a few months and it wont' be. There won't be 'sightings of nicola'. because she looks fairly normal. Even my son has a a doppleganger and I have to look twice in my own home town.

None of us have a clue what has happened. I hope she has left of her own will because it's the most likely scenario in which she is alive now.

MeinKraft · 09/02/2023 22:15

'I'm not asking what her particular motive was, I'm asking what any plausible motive could be because its very difficult to find a single one that stands up to scrutiny thats the problem with that hypothesis'

That's too far down the road of speculation for this thread. I've seen loads of theories floating around on a fairly nuts Facebook group that I've now muted, people have massively overstepped and delved into her personal life, her SM posts from years and years ago, googling stuff about her partner and their company and so on. All really intrusive and horrible.

lifeturnsonadime · 09/02/2023 22:20

All sorts of plausible reasons =

affair
Abuse.
disassociation
depression
boredom
someone controlling you
etc

They're reasons to leave your relationship and not let your partner know where you've gone. They're not reasons to go AWOL, not contact your parents, your kids, any friends or your employer and let the police waste a load of time diving around in a river.

If she is out there she'll be aware whats going on to look for her, hard to avoid the coverage
