@User45378754 how would it be a scam?

Maybe that’s not the right word - but oddballs piggy back events and want things to go viral…..

Are you thinking someone took her to get back at Paul?
According to her friend, Paul has CCTV evidence of him being at home at the time.

martinisforeveryone · 04/02/2023 14:46

@tashx you've prefaced your last post with 'without being nasty' so what exactly do you want people to take from what you're saying there?

And she had just remortgaged which presumably removed some of those financial concerns.
Thousands of people are in debt! Doesn't mean it is remotely relevant to her going missing.

What the family absolutely don't need is all their personal business spread far and wide on the internet for some mean spirited keyboard warrior to use as an explanation or justification for her disappearance.

You are being nasty and floating conspiracy theories about her partner again. His company, which he owns jointly with Nicola, will NOT be forced to close on 7th February. The first notice will be published then, due to late submission of accounts. It will be at least two months after that before it is struck off. And it is not his only business. He and Nicola set up another company in August.

Where is your evidence that they are in debt?

madeyemoody · 04/02/2023 14:52

Could people please start posting sources to any statement they put in here. It's getting a bit ridiculous, "a friend said he has CCTV" "Paul is in debt"

This is not official information from the police so until it is, it's gossip and hearsay and really disrespectful. If it's your opinion post what we always post after and opinion "IMO" or "IMHO" the thread is full of speculation it's not useful at all.

Peverellshire · 04/02/2023 14:54

@justgettingthroughtheday her father said she was upbeat after sorting her mortgage the day before, (into her name alone?) she also met her boss the night/late afternoon before, had a call with a new (?) client which went well and her parents provided the later childcare for, and ignored her sister's text, she usually immediately replied.

The police must have this context, context is so important to get straight and accurate, just so nothing is overlooked. Everything taken off the table so that what remains, however improbable, must be correct.

Peverellshire · 04/02/2023 14:55

@madeyemoody company, some mortgage details are in the public domain.

Jewel1968 · 04/02/2023 14:59

People will be armchair detectives. Not a lot you can do about that. There is very little in the public domain to point the finger at anyone. The police may well have evidence they are not releasing so that they can do their job.

The worry for locals might be that there is a predator out there - stay safe everyone.

Really hope she is found safe and well!

I am aware of that! I was simply trying to point out to the previous poster who was being rather mean spirited that they don't have all the facts about any potential money issues and should therefore not be assuming they are in any way relevant

Peverellshire · 04/02/2023 15:04

@justgettingthroughtheday understood.

Kinneddar · 04/02/2023 15:06

It sounds like the police want to close the case and NB's family disagree, they want the search and investigations to continue

Missing persons enquiries never close until the person is found. So, no, they're not looking to close the case. They haven't even scaled back the investigation at this stage.

The search may get cut back soon but the investigation won't

I agree with this.

Dont quote gossip or MSM spin.

Only factual sources direct from police.

There is even a point to consider that even the family and friends don’t have the full picture and their views and words need to be taken in the traumatic emotional context that they are in.

I think the standard operating procedure choice of language by the police is potentially jarring / triggering for many close to the victim and is not reflecting what is going on behind the scenes.

In the Sarah Everhard case the Met were saying the same “open minded to all possibilities but treating it as ‘missing person investigation’

AmillionReasons · 04/02/2023 15:43

Have they said where her partner was at the time of getting the call about the dog etc? Was he with others at the time she went missing? I'm sure he is absolutely innocent, but keeping an open mind, nobody knows.

Working from home and their home has cctv

AmillionReasons · 04/02/2023 15:46

Ah, thank you @ofwarrenIMO the interview was a strange one, but then again who knows how anyone would act should this horrendous unimaginable situation happen.

Have the police confirmed this as fact?

I've not heard it from the police, only the family friend.

AmillionReasons · 04/02/2023 15:51

Just makes me wonder if all the entrances were covered by CCTV. IMO I thought he may have expected her back from the dog walk, seems alittle strange.

ofwarren · 04/02/2023 15:49

I've not heard it from the police, only the family friend.

That’s speculation then with potentially zero basis in fact - unless the friend claims to be with him and saw the CCTV to be fully functional.

I am not disparaging the partner here - just pointing out how unhelpful rumours and speculation arise.

AmillionReasons · 04/02/2023 15:52

I'm sure the police have and are considering all possibilities, just hope for the sake of the family that they find her soon.

From what I've seen in the papers, they have cctv from all but one exit/entrance so they are asking for dashcam footage.
