www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-lancashire-64450243

Just been reading about this. How awful for her partner and children. Really hope she is found soon

Post from Northernlites has a timeline on. Looks like she's disappeared between 9.10 and 9.30am. Teams call ended at 9.30 but Nicola stays logged on, which implies she had been separated from the phone by that point.

Nicola Bulley: Family of missing dog walker say her 'children need her home' and they are 'stuck in a nightmare'

This interview with her parents and sister seems like a new turn of events, maybe?

They would be briefed by the police - it’s an appeal for people to come forward to her to come home.

Suggests they don’t think it’s an accident or suicide maybe?

Dizzywizz · 02/02/2023 16:28

Yes, that reads as if they think she may have just left? And those that said she wouldn’t abandon her dog - if she was leaving her children, I’m sure she would leave her dog. Sometimes you can Get so low you think everyone’s better off without you.

NothingButAWalkover · 02/02/2023 16:37

Police have located the witness in the red coat now

Exactly. If that’s what she’s done she wouldn’t be thinking straight. I used to work with someone who killed himself in the house on his weekend with the kids. He didn’t even wait till the following day when they’d have been at their mums. They were primary age. Seemed like a spur of the moment thing.

There's a very good analysis on YouTube..she breaks down differences in reported accounts..

Apparently the abandoned house owner refused entry to those searching for her?? I understand he would if it were law enforcement but that seems strange. I'm hoping LE have searched it by now..

Do you have a link?
The news I read was that the volunteers only searched the grounds and just asked the owner to check their building, which is entirely normal for volunteer searchers to not go into buildings.

Utterlyexhausted · 02/02/2023 18:54

It's on the YouTube I linked below

Utterlyexhausted · 02/02/2023 18:58

And the man who owns the abandoned house just happened to be there?!

I can see why the family think she may have been taken.

I also have seen from previous crime cases that although the police say they think no one else is involved that's not necessarily the case..they might not want to spook any suspects.

CyberSpaceTraveller · 02/02/2023 19:04

I wouldn't make much of the 'abandoned' house owner not letting a load of people in his property to search for a woman who from his perspective he knew wasn't there. She was last was seen across the river, what would he have done if he was involved, wade across with her on his back in full view of anyone nearby? Maybe he was cantankerous or he took offence at how he was asked. The police seem to have searched the house now though and found nothing.

If the police really believe Nicola is just 'missing', not abducted, attacked or gone in the river, no mental or health issues that make her vulnerable (I think they would have said that by now). Why the massive search? She is entitled to go missing as an adult woman with all her faculties if she wants.

I wonder if her husband went down to look for her first when he was called or did he call the police straightaway before investigating himself? Was he at work or at home?

The police were asking for dashcam footage although obviously not of Nicola's car as they knew where it was?

Siepie · 02/02/2023 19:17

I don't think there's anything strange about not letting a group of strangers search your private property.

People on WS have pointed out that the Google Streetview from 2022 shows a car parked on the drive, so it's clearly not long-abandoned. Maybe unoccupied, but that doesn't make as catching a headline.

Timeline of events

• 08:43 - Ms Bulley walked along the path by the River Wyre, having dropped her children off at school

• 08:50 - A dog-walker who knows Ms Bulley saw her walking along the lower field. Their two dogs interacted briefly

• 08:53 - Ms Bulley sent an email to her boss

• 09:01 - She logged into a Teams call

• About 09:10 - Somebody who knows Ms Bulley saw her on the upper field walking her dog, Willow

• 09:30 - The Teams call ended but she stayed logged on

• About 09:35 - Ms Bulley's mobile phone and dog Willow were found at a bench by the river

So I have just seen a video showing the walk from the school to the bench on DM. The entire walk took just over 6 minutes. There are nothing to see on the sides so safe to assume she must have walked non stop and got to the bench before 9am, possibly before 8.53am when she sent the email.

On the tree behind the bench there is a little board saying "Dogs must be on lead at all times"

So she stopped somewhere around the bench to write and send the email.

Perhaps Willow was running loose but with the lead on while she was sending the email and logging into the call.

Then something happened that took the lead off.

That is a good analysis, the river wasn't at all what I was expecting, it looks so small and not steep to a dangerous extent. The clip of her poor parents, the pain.

I'm not going to speculate on what happened because none of us know, but I do believe that the police have some information that they are not releasing.

Gosh yes, Claudia Lawrence vibes.. everything about this is just tragic.

lolly07766 · 02/02/2023 19:43

I was thinking she may have gotten up to help her dog who she may have thought was in trouble in/by the water, and that's why she had taken the harness off as she knew that willow would want to go for a swim, however I have just seen a picture of willow coming out of the water on a previous walk and she has the harness on.
I so hope they find her, absolutely heartbreaking for her family and loved ones.

LilLilLi · 02/02/2023 19:45

The house isn’t abandoned it’s empty and being refurbished, so it wouldn’t be unusual for the owner to be there.

User435787532 · 02/02/2023 19:49

I’ve searched through lots of articles and can’t see anywhere what NB’s husband does for a living or what his location was when he reviewed the phone call to alert him of the found dog. Does he have an alibi for when she went missing? Also notable he wasn’t on the appeal video with family. There would of course be legitimate reasons for this.

User435787532 · 02/02/2023 19:49

*received not reviewed

Catingle · 02/02/2023 19:50

Sorry I think it is really off to insinuate this might be linked to DV when there is no evidence of that whatsoever.

Of course none of us know what has happened to her and of course her family are clinging on to the hope that she might just be out there, somewhere, waiting to come home. But sorry - you don’t “LTB” by disappearing with nothing in the middle of a field and letting your children assume you are dead and it’s just cruel to everyone involved to suggest that is what has happened on the basis of nothing at all.

I'm fairly sure the police will know the answers to your questions.
