Greece rape case - dad suspected

has anyone been following this?

The daughter is adamant it wasn’t her dad and I’m inclined to believe her, but so many things are odd:

  • The CCTV is awful to watch - her dad is acting oddly.
  • why isn’t the DNA test back yet
  • why hasn’t she done a pregnancy test
  • who leaves 4 kids at home to go clubbing with their dad in Malia.

I've just read about this and to me it seems like a strange case all round

CantStartaFireWithoutaSpark · 06/07/2022 09:09

I haven’t seen anything about this case, what was the outcome of the DNA test?

QuebecBagnet · 06/07/2022 09:36

Still awaiting the test results apparently. Must be about a month now?

Eatthecake80 · 06/07/2022 16:09

He’s been released,dna wasn’t his.

Eatthecake80 · 06/07/2022 16:09

It’s in the US section of the daily Mail

Mushroo · 06/07/2022 16:30

On the UK daily mail now - the dad didn’t do it.

Im glad that’s the outcome, and I feel the family has been exploited - I hope they get support

Glad the DNA is back, I can see why they were suspicious when they saw the CCTV. What a mess for this family

QuebecBagnet · 06/07/2022 16:42

Good news for them but awful it’s taken so long with him being in prison for weeks. Plus it’s left the rapist free.

TempName01 · 07/07/2022 12:05

Curious to know whether they have any male DNA, if there is no other evidence of the perpetrator will they just drop the case?

Kanaloa · 07/07/2022 12:57

God that’s awful and bizarre. What a horrific event. To be fair I can see why they’ve come to that (albeit incorrect) conclusion after the CCTV/the idea of the father leaving his incapacitated daughter alone in a strange country. It seems like it’s a very chaotic and odd situation overall - I hope this publicity at least brings it to the attention of family/professional services since it sounds like the woman might need to access good support once she’s back in the UK.

I'm so glad the father was not the perpetrator.
Awful to see them so drunk and the bar tender just carrying on about their business. Sad

To be fair in that area British tourists falling over themselves drunk will be an everyday occurrence to a bartender. Getting involved would be a daily battle against people who have chosen to go out and get paralytic as well as possibly dangerous for the bartender.

It's reading long threads like this that makes a person better understand the hate mobs/vigilantes of old. There was a simple way of dealing with news like this, wait for any evidence. Of course, the mob here couldn't and came to their many conclusions. Not about the apparent guilt of the man, but the entire history of this so called and fabricated 'relationship'. Armchair psychologists, judges, juries and executioners. No wonder gossip lead to lynching back in the day.
