Greece rape case - dad suspected

has anyone been following this?

The daughter is adamant it wasn’t her dad and I’m inclined to believe her, but so many things are odd:

  • The CCTV is awful to watch - her dad is acting oddly.
  • why isn’t the DNA test back yet
  • why hasn’t she done a pregnancy test
  • who leaves 4 kids at home to go clubbing with their dad in Malia.

Could she have been spiked? I was spiked and raped at 18 whilst in magaluf. I too remember only patchy details and saying no obviously, throwing up and then 4-5 hours of black out until I woke up enough to defend myself.

This is so odd

If her story is true - he presumably cares about her safety as he’s a loving father. So why did he leave her sat outside in the alley and storm off? What kind of dad would leave their vulnerable daughter alone in a vulnerable situation the early hours in a different country? Surely he could call a taxi for her to get home and sobered up himself as he would have realised the danger she was in.

The video footage is bizzare but again, if he was really trying to help her get home and to sleep/safety, why did he keep knocking back the pints when she clearly looks unwell?

@SaltySalad

But someone is bringing her food, or she’s managing to go out for food. So clearly there is somewhere she could acquire a pregnancy test. And even if she absolutely couldn’t acquire a pregnancy test through any means why would she then tell a tabloid she was ‘60% sure’ she was pregnant with her rapist’s baby? What’s gained by telling them that if she can’t access a pregnancy test?

It’s all very weird, and for me the weirdest thing is that nobody in her family has managed to advise her/protect her whilst she’s clearly vulnerable.

People that are incredibly dysfunctional and lead these sorts of lives will very often believe or say outlandish illogcial things and make claims which cant possibly make sense or are designed to achieve a certain thing.

FeelingLost21 · 01/07/2022 19:58

Where is the video?

anybloodyname · 01/07/2022 20:14

@FeelingLost21 the video is attached to every news item about the story

MermaidEyes · 01/07/2022 21:10

That is one very uncomfortable video. It definitely looks like he has his hand up her skirt and then he appears to pull her dress strap down her arm before tugging it back up again. Bizarre story all round really and I'm sure more will come out about this 'relationship' in due course. The DM are probably doorstepping her family and friends as we speak.

Luidaeg · 01/07/2022 21:50

I'm 60% sure that I'm pregnant. I've been told by the British Consulate that I need to go to a medical clinic to have a blood test, but I've been suffering from such bad panic attacks that I need someone to accompany me. But I'm here on my own and have got nobody to help me.'

If the attack happened on the 10th? and the report where she says this was yesterday, is that enough time to think you might be pg? I guess it might be or is this the Daily Scum putting words in her mouth?

Maybe "what are you worried about? are you worried you may be pregnant?"
her: "maybe, strong possiblity..."

"She said 60%"...

wellhelloitsme · 01/07/2022 21:59

Yeah I think people are underestimating the approach some tabloid journalists will take when trying to get click bait headlines and sound bites, especially when someone clearly has had a difficult life and not great boundaries which is clear from this woman's experiences. She may have been taken advantage of by a number of people in her life in various ways, and now also by journalists.

Spiked? She says herself they were drinking heavily for hours.

BedknobsNoBroomsticks · 01/07/2022 22:12

Such a bizarre story.

I don't think it's strange that she went on a boozy holiday with her dad, a lot of people do the same with their mum. Maybe her and her dad just have a close relationship.

However that CCTV video is strange. He does look like he is being inappropriate. Time will tell with the DNA results.

wellhelloitsme · 01/07/2022 22:13

@SaltySalad that poster said they've been attacked in the past and you ignored that bit of their post pretty coldly!

Sorry that happened to you @CantRememberHoliday Flowers

Your mistake I s to assume that everyone behaves as you do.

I also find it very sad that so many women are judging a woman in the height of trauma.

There is not one set of acceptable behaviours that a rape victim exhibits.

Trauma is complex and you don’t need to be a genius to appreciate just how traumatised this woman is. A man went to prison for 14years for abusing her as a child. That is a very stiff sentence. It must have been heinous abuse. Without a doubt this incident will have triggered her previous trauma. I don’t think it is ok to judge her.

So what? So have I, doesn’t give me the right to judge another victim.

wellhelloitsme · 01/07/2022 22:21

@SaltySalad

Eh?! That poster said perhaps this woman was spiked and you said "Spiked? She says herself they were drinking heavily for hours."

The poster didn't cast any judgement on the woman in that post, they just suggested maybe she'd been spiked?! The opposite of judgement of her!

I'm sorry it's happened to you too. And that poster. And me.

I wasn’t judging her at all. I was just responding to another poster’s pretty snarky comment that ‘of course she can’t get a pregnancy test, who would bring it?’ I was making the point that obviously she is accessing food so could conceivably access a pregnancy test. I have nothing but sympathy and sadness for her. I didn’t know about the past history of sexual abuse but it doesn’t surprise me.

Kanaloa · 01/07/2022 22:30

Although it seems like you’re sort of misreading people’s shock/wondering how this could have happened as judgement of rape victims/sexual abuse victims. Lots of us aren’t - many of us are victims ourselves.

ldontWanna · 01/07/2022 23:23

That video is creepy as fuck in so many ways. The way he's all over her,her trying to push him away, he's visibly angry after she moves.
Even if he didn't do it(and the greek police must pursue all avenues for the investigation) that is not a healthy father daughter relationship.

ZedMammy · 02/07/2022 06:43

This 100%

BornBlonde · 02/07/2022 11:09

The video is very disturbing

Quicknamechangefortoday · 02/07/2022 21:36

saltysalad How do we know about the abuse as a child? Poor girl that is heartbreaking but unfortunately not surprising. Her life sounds chaotic and speaking from experiencing, that sexual abuse can affect every aspect of your life, your thought process, self esteem and how much value you place on your own body. I wish I could give her a hug poor thing.

savethatkitty · 03/07/2022 00:03

Back home, she also lives with Daddy & the 4 kids too. Very strange

sashh · 03/07/2022 06:53

It's hardly a stretch to think that someone from the consulate might be able to pop to a chemist

I don't think the consulate is actually near her, she might be getting support via phone.

What I don't understand is her staying in Crete, her father is in Tripoli on the mainland, I could understand her going there.

HiddleDiddle · 03/07/2022 06:57

This is obviously wildly different and absolutely disgusting but can I just say...

Why would a female in her 30's go on holiday alone with her dad tho?

I go on holiday with my dad (I'm an adult female!) There is nothing weird about it and we certainly don't go out and get drunk together, just a typical sight seeing holiday. I always have holidayed with him because he was my primary carer as a child and my mum wasn't around. Now I have children of my own we go with them too. I am just very close with him naturally as he was my RP, nothing untoward 🤢

I don’t think there’s anything weird about a normal holiday with your dad! Sight seeing and relaxing and whatnot. And I think even here I’d find it a bit odd to go clubbing with a dad and daughter into the small hours.

blugray · 03/07/2022 13:17

I don’t see an issue with someone going on holiday with their dad either, can think of loads of reasons why:

  • Going to events together, football matches, concerts, funerals

  • staking out a wedding venue

  • making a big purchase & wanting his opinion/funding

  • meeting his side of the family

  • generally unwinding/sightseeing

Some people have more of a friend relationship with their dads where they socialise together like this, including women. Some families also go abroad more often than others so it’s not a question of “why go with your dad of all people?” as they probably fly out with their partners/kids/mums on other occasions too
