Rita Ora Broke Lockdown Rules

Apparently Rita Ora had a birthday party in a London restaurant, which broke lockdown rules. She has issued an apology and referred to it as an error in judgement. I can't help thinking she's only sorry because she was caught (and fined £10,000).

I'm surprised the restaurant agreed to the party, but then again, I guess they're desperately trying to stay afloat and she probably offered £££ for their silence/complicity in breaking the rules.

She thought it would be okay as we are coming out of lockdown.... no Rita, even out of lockdown gatherings of 30-odd people are not permitted. What a CF.

She said it was spur of the moment but if you look at the pictures of her cake it's massive and says Happy 30th Birthday on it. Don't suppose anyone whipped that up in an afternoon

This pandemic has really uncovered the real attitudes of a large proportion of rich people - there’s a lot of people who portray how “down to earth” they are on social media and in interviews; but their actions say something very different.

It’s never an “error in judgement”; they know perfectly well what the rules are - it’s just that they don’t see why the rules should apply to them because they are rich and special.

One rule for the rich and one for the plebs. I wonder how many MPs, officials and celebs will be breaking the rules over Christmas. They'll probably all claim to be testing their eyesight. Selfish idiots.

selfish girl, I hope she donates some of her money to a charity that is helping to feed people and keep them safe. she has no excuse and its bollox it was spur of the moment, why did the restaurant allow it in the first place.

I'm appalled by her and her friends, but also by the restaurant. They should be closed down.

How dense.or arrogant are people that they put "secret" party pictures out in a lockdown . What a tool she is not that she her friends or the restaurant will care it's all publicity.

She was on. Telly in march saying she. Was away from home to protect her parent (maybe her mum) because they worked for the NHS.

I can't bear this vacuous creature at the best of times. Definitely sorry she got caught.

Exactly. Planned twattery, pandemic partying because she's too special to have her birthday ignored.

Meanwhile for my 50th in March I'll be lucky if I'm allowed out to get the vaccine for my birthday! Have got something booked in Wales but am thinking I'll get to go if I'm lucky.

Well, she’s apologised I suppose. What about her celeb friends. Equally as bad - they weren’t forced to attend.

I'm so cross about this. It does feel as though there is one rule for us and another one for politicians and rich celebrities. The fine won't matter to her at all. She should have to do something like clean hospital toilets for 3 months to make up for it.

I'm still cross with joe wicks and Jamie Oliver for posting photos on Instagram after filming a Xmas special all drinking with their arms round each other and saying 'don't worry we got tested first' - not how it works -at least Rita got fined and admitted she messed up - there's been loads of celebs on social media breaking the rules and not being pulled up on it .

I don’t think Rita Ora is any worse than many other famous people atm, so many are absolutely taking the piss. I saw one couple (possibly TOWIE or similar) who had flown to somewhere exotic for essential work ‘promoting’ a hotel. So many have flown to Dubai/ Turkey for essential work 🙄. We’re being made absolute fools of and I don’t understand why more people aren’t angry at the entire hypocrisy of the whole thing.
