Rat deserting the sinking ship? Pesonal damage control after the Durham fiasco? No longer wishing to be associated professionally with a failing PM?

Yay! Sounds like a big bitch fight went down at No 10 and Boris backed his Mrs. Lee Cain flounced and Cummings is slithering off to do dirty deals elsewhere.

Handsnotwands · 13/11/2020 07:51

I worry about what he’ll get up to in a less visible position

RancidOldHag · 13/11/2020 07:54

I'm sure I read somewhere that Cummings had said he planned all along to leave in Dec 2020 (and that that had been known for some time)

I suspect it's so he can plan away up to the end of the transition period, be out of the way for the months following transition, and possibly reappear later

Either that or no one can stick with Boris for long

FelicityPike · 13/11/2020 07:56

Apparently Boris’s Carrie has been throwing her weight around and Cummings and his pals don’t like it, so they’ve went in the huff. Poor diddums.
Cheerio.....

TwentyViginti · 13/11/2020 07:58

Ha! I can definitely see Cummings slithering under the door of No 10 Grin

Is he powerful enough to do damage from without, though? He's a laughing stock as well as having engendered a great deal of anger from the general public with his antics.

Surprised at this news just heard it on radio

Chailatte20 · 13/11/2020 08:01

Slithering little odious misogynist toad. I'd be interested to know which firm would want to be associated with him as he has quite an infamous reputation now.

MarshaBradyo · 13/11/2020 08:03

Johnson will miss him

I’m sure somewhere in private sector will pay a lot

GiraffeNecked · 13/11/2020 08:07

He always said he’d go at the end of the year. It’s because he knows implementing Brexit successfully is going to be impossible.

Lonelycrab · 13/11/2020 08:07

My guess is his Brexit bonus will be arriving soon and he’ll be getting multi million pound pay offs from his shady overseas billionaire bosses for delivering their ram-raid on the U.K.

Set up for life he’ll slink off to leave the carnage for someone else.

Just a hunch.

Othering · 13/11/2020 08:10

Who knows but the way it's being reported in the press as Boris somehow being 'henpecked' by Carrie is making my blood boil.

HandInGove · 13/11/2020 08:11

I reckon without a Trump victory the drive-us-off-a-cliff hard Brexit he’s been pushing for is less likely. Biden’s not going to sign up to a US-UK trade deal like Trump would have, Biden is pro-European Union.
The new US administration will expect the UK to act like grown ups and form some kind of minimum deal with the EU. As they should have been willing to all along. Cummings will not want to be involved in any of that. I bet he only likes smashing stuff up, not building it slowly and carefully.

HandInGove · 13/11/2020 08:15

Blaming Carrie is beyond ridiculous. If Johnson had one iota of respect for women or cared what they said to him, he’d not have been the horrible shagger and leaver he always has been.

TwentyViginti · 13/11/2020 08:17

I agree Trump being ousted and Brexit plays a part in this.

No, he'll not be short of a bob or two one way or another upon leaving Downing st.

TicTacTwo · 13/11/2020 08:18

Apparently he announced he was leaving by the end of the year on his blog in Jan 2020.

How many taxpayer money contracts has he won without any tender process? Hmm

GrumblyMumblyisnotJumbly · 13/11/2020 08:20

6months too late for maintaining the public health message that we are ‘all in it together’.

It’s only fitting that he gets a 3word slogan for his departure:

Good riddance bellend

NotAKaren · 13/11/2020 09:18

He's stuffed his friends, family and associates with lucrative contracts. He knows the Brexit goose is cooked, now that the US has a centrist pro European president who is a supporter of the GFA hopes of a US trade deal with a no Deal Brexit is gone. Then there's our lack of preparation at our borders which could make the time critical rollout of the vaccine a complete disaster. But never fear he will slither away until Gove takes over from Boris and then have some lucrative contracts as a consultant or something.

Fedup21 · 13/11/2020 09:21

I suspect Brexit is going to be a colossal omnishambles and there’s no lying or obfuscation about it now and DC doesn’t want to be blamed for it. I don’t really see what Boris’s girlfriend has got to do with anything though?!

Neolara · 13/11/2020 09:24

Do you think Boris will have any ideas without DC pulling the puppet strings? The DC fiasco earlier in the year seemed to suggest Boris was entirely dependent on DC, as why else would they keep hold of him at such cost to the integrity of the government / covid response.

MoonJelly · 13/11/2020 10:19

He's channelled billions of pounds of public money towards his associates and relatives, now's the time to leave before Brexit hits the fan in a big way.

How will Boris cope if he actually has to do some work?

Othering · 13/11/2020 11:10

Never let an opportunity pass to slag a woman off though.
TwentyViginti · 13/11/2020 12:07

He's certainly channelled public money away to an alarming extent.

Keep your ears to the ground, everybody. It must be that Saint Boris (with strings pulled by Scummings himself) is trying to distract the public from something more sinister.

Infuriating isn't it? Trouble brewing? Quick, find a woman to blame!
wanderings · 13/11/2020 12:12

If he does leave, then:

One bellend down, two to go.
