This is so unbearably sad. I hope that the poor woman finds some peace. My heart went out to her

God that poor woman

And her DH has now lost his wife and only child. Devastating

Elffriend · 19/09/2007 09:42

Heard this on the radio this morning. Really upset me . Heart desperately goes out to the husband/father though.

HorribleHorace · 19/09/2007 09:43

that is so tragic

ruty · 19/09/2007 09:43

yes cod i feel the same. Poor woman and poor daughter.

NadineBaggott · 19/09/2007 09:46

What about the husband/father? What will this do to him?

To be so devastated as to take your own life, it's terribly, terribly sad.

Hulababy · 19/09/2007 09:49

Poor woman Very sad, Her poor DH too

oliveoil · 19/09/2007 09:51

I feel sorry for the husband/father, he will be thinking 'I wasn't enough for her to live for'.

v sad.

allgonebellyup · 19/09/2007 09:53

i actually wondered if this would happen, as i remember her saying her daughter was her whole world and her only child..and i tried to put myself in her place... she mustve felt she had nothing else to live for.

her poor dh

I remember hearing Chris Bazlinton on the radio after his daughter Olivia and her friend Charlie Thompson were killed on a level crossing in 2005 (they were 13 and 14 ). He was saying that none of the family could bring themselves to go upstairs because that's where Olivia's room was - all four of them slept in the living room for months. Unimaginable pain.

allgonebellyup · 19/09/2007 10:00

i think i wouldve done myself in too , though i hate to say it.

ThisIsDavinaPleaseDoNotSwear · 19/09/2007 10:25

That is unbearable.. My DH and I have silently agreed that if anything happened to all 4 of our DC's, we would very probably do the same. They are our life.

amyjade · 19/09/2007 10:28

Poor family.
My 16 year old friend throw herself off a railway bridge 10 years ago her mum also tried to take her life a few times. She has slowly rebuilt her life and after 7 years managed to go back to work.
I have a few friends who have lost their only children who amaze me with how they cope but they have. Untill you lose a child it's pretty tough to understand the grief and what you would really do.
There are lots of us on here who have lost children and we have survived.
This poor woman must have been beyond help.

Wisteria · 19/09/2007 10:29

Very sad - but you can't possibly know whether you would commit suicide or not if it happened to you - that's ridiculous.

AngharadGoldenhand · 19/09/2007 10:33

Very sad.

Poor traindriver too. No-one ever thinks of the effect on them.

amyjade · 19/09/2007 10:37

The driver that hit my friend was sobbing at her inquest.

AdmiralLapinWaivesTheRules · 19/09/2007 10:38

Agreed AG. I'm sure this poor woman was out of her mind with grief and didn't even think of it, but that driver will have to deal with that for the rest of his life - apparently many of them (tube drivers especially) end up having to find new jobs. It's very sad all round.

Piffle · 19/09/2007 10:39

desperately sad news
I hope the Dad is going to be ok, tragic case

SpeccieSeccie · 19/09/2007 11:12

This is just heartbreaking. So awful. Has me absolutely sobbing. I just hope her husband can get through this pain.

And the poor, poor grandparents. Daughter and granddaughter gone. Terrible

Heathcliffscathy · 19/09/2007 11:15

suicide is such an aggressive act. she must have been so despairing, angry and devastated, and her husband can't have been very present in her thoughts.

biglips · 19/09/2007 11:16

so sad to hear...poor Mum
