what was the verdict on the DD?

NAB3 · 19/09/2007 11:17

That poor family.

I would die of a broken heart if any of my children died.

Is her husband on his own now? I think Natasha was an only child.

biglips · 19/09/2007 11:18

Yes the dd was the only child

Gobbledigook · 19/09/2007 12:03

Oh no, how awful.

Lorayn · 19/09/2007 12:13

Isn't it dreadful how death can tear apart a family, a friend of mines mother killed herself on a train line when he was around 15, his sister went on to become a drug addict and he killed himself a few years ago.
Such sorrow.
DD was born very early and was given a very low chance to live, I remember the feeling when the doctor came to me to tell me she had had an operation in the middle of the night and began with the words "danni-ella's heart stopped last night" ugh, I couldn't imagine having to live with that feeling for the rest of my life.

Whimsy · 19/09/2007 12:19

How sad

TigerFeet · 19/09/2007 12:20

Twiglett · 19/09/2007 12:26

I think that's incredibly sad

but its an act of total selfishness involving an innocent bystander in your suicide

patently she was depressed, but still .. poor traindriver, poor people who found her body

2shoes · 19/09/2007 12:27

poor family and poor poor train driver

CapnBirdseye · 19/09/2007 12:36

agree Twig

DrNortherner · 19/09/2007 12:38

How sad. This has really affected me.

ruty · 19/09/2007 13:48

i knew a lovely couple who lost their only child. The mother died of cancer a few years later. It did seem linked to their unbearable grief.

TheQueenOfQuotes · 19/09/2007 13:50

Twiglett - I think by the time you get to the stage of commiting suicide any thoughts of anyone else have long since gone

Budababe · 19/09/2007 13:57

Saw this on news - so so sad.

shinyhappytonks · 19/09/2007 16:14

Terribly sad for everyone involved

JeremyVile · 19/09/2007 16:19

Sad yes, particularly for the train drivers.

ruty · 19/09/2007 16:38

so easy to be judgemental when you've never been in that situation.

KTeePee · 19/09/2007 16:42

I remember reading about her daughter going missing and how devasted she was but didn't know they had found her body - think it must have been when I was on holiday.

I have known a few people who have lost children and have only been able to keep going because they had other children - must be so much worse when it is your only one....

smugmumofboys · 19/09/2007 16:49

This is a very sad story. My heart goes out to the father/husband.

A few years ago my great-aunt was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given months to live. Her husband could not bear the thought of being without her (even though they had 4 children and grandchildren). He shot himself and my poor cousin found him. It was absolutely devastating for the family.

kookaburra · 19/09/2007 17:32

yes, desperately sad- & feel so sorry for the husband/father.

Fimbo · 19/09/2007 17:37

Poor man. My dh works for the same company and spoke to him a couple of times prior to this.

deaconblue · 19/09/2007 19:11

really really sad but I fully understand. When we thought ds had lymphoma I found myslef thinking if he died I would have to kill myself. We were so lucky.

tazmosis · 19/09/2007 21:26

Utterly heart breaking, but I can totally understand, the poor poor women and the poor husband/father. I hope he has other family support.
