My DH does all the ironong too.
He is much better at it than me

Surfermum · 11/09/2007 21:38

Ironing was the most useful thing dh learnt in the Navy. They'd probably argue that it was to spot enemy aircraft on a radar.

Bouncingturtle · 11/09/2007 21:40

My Dh irons too!!

GordonRamsay · 11/09/2007 21:40

Ditto sufermum. I used to iron, but DH is soo good at doing his uniform that he has taken over the task.

unknownrebelbang · 13/09/2007 00:11

Mine can iron but that's because he's not got piles of it to do... He takes his own sweet time, with a cuppa, the radio on, so of course he's going to be good at it. I have yet to see him iron any of my clothes.

ghosty · 13/09/2007 00:33

bolleaux ... my DH irons much better than me ...
Or at least that is what he thinks and that suits me just fine

VladimireIlychUlyanovPan · 13/09/2007 01:27

Big hairy bollocks!

I iron much better than any woman I have known. Hours spent ironing in the pleats on skirts and dresses. Shifting the shoulders round to get those tricksy bits. Steaming the ends of sleeves to crip up the cuffs.

Madam!

NormaStanleyFletcher · 13/09/2007 01:32

I always say that there is a reason that men have greater upper body strength - ironing and hoovering.

On top of that the armed forces trained him to iron and I feel it would be remiss of me to let the training go to waste.

I am concientious like that

hehehehe

VladimireIlychUlyanovPan · 13/09/2007 01:36

So kind!

Papillon · 13/09/2007 01:45

Was so late oh creased butterfly, as a friend and I were watching "The Fellowship of the Ring", filmed round your way, I think??
Doesn't it go on, and on, and on...it takes longer to watch the film than read the book!!Still, lots of very pretty folk to look at, in magnificent scenery. You lucky thing.

DaDaDa · 13/09/2007 11:05

Can't iron won't iron.

lou33 · 13/09/2007 11:11

i dont iron ever

EricL · 13/09/2007 14:45

I do all the ironing in my house. The DW moans about how long it takes me but i still get it done.

Hate it though and would get an ironing service if we had a bit more cash.

unknownrebelbang · 13/09/2007 14:52

DH has taught all three lads to iron too.

lou33 · 13/09/2007 14:58

i do have an ironing pile, but i find if i leave it folded long enough i can pull the stuff out at the bottom and it looks fine

ShinyHappySchmooo · 13/09/2007 15:01

Lou I submitted that tip to MN in order to enter a competition! (I did think it was my original idea however.. and that nobody else could be that sluttish! )

My bloke can iron. He's best at it when he's got the hump.. whips through a pile in a hour that would have taken me three and does an excellent job. I have worked it so that I piss him off just enough in advance that he does it..and fast.. but not so much that he won't do it at all!

Other than that.. my mum does it

Notyummy · 13/09/2007 15:02

another military trained ironing dh here. Unfortunately I served as well, so can't use the 'i can't iron your uniform as i don't know where the creases are' excuse on the few occasions i do iron! That said, dh wears flying suit to work most days which don't need ironing at all. Woo hoo!
