Califrau, that song sends shivers down my spine.
Earlgrey, I don't know about his child.

I am really sad about this. Such a fabulous singer.

PippiLangstrump · 06/09/2007 07:00

pyjamaqueen · 06/09/2007 07:30

Can't believe it. How sad.

tigerschick · 06/09/2007 07:33

I saw on the news last night that he was critical.
So sad to hear he has lost his fight.
His daughter is 4 1/2

DANCESwithTheMorningOff · 06/09/2007 07:56

I didn't know he was ill . This is sad news indeed. He was a sensational singer.

missgriss · 06/09/2007 07:58

That is very sad

Trinityrhino · 06/09/2007 08:07

sad news

Kewcumber · 06/09/2007 08:11

I didn;t realise he had cancer. Rare that an opera singer has such appeal generally.

BreeVanDerCampLGJ · 06/09/2007 08:15

When they said he was being cared for by his family in Modena, it was sadly only a matter of time.

biglips · 06/09/2007 08:16

Sad Sad

biglips · 06/09/2007 08:17

he got such an amazing voice

FlameBatfink · 06/09/2007 08:18

Just heard on the radio

FlossALump · 06/09/2007 08:20

A horrible cancer and a horrible operation. Poor man I hadn't realised he was ill either until the news last night. I'm pleased for him that he spent his last days with his family around him.

EscapeFrom · 06/09/2007 08:20

oh what a shame.

Beetroot · 06/09/2007 08:21

Dh worked with him at the Opera House, He has some funny sotires to tell of him playing young men whie sitting on his stool with his pasta in the wings. When he went on a diet the pasta became ice which he crunched away.

dh stood in a queue for his autograph once, outside his dressing room. In the queue were sting, and other celebs who I cannot remember now. Dh was given his couple of minutes with the meastro like everyone else.

Amazing

kokeshi · 06/09/2007 08:22

Oh how sad, I didn't even realise he was ill. I haven't been watching much news recently.

Isababel · 06/09/2007 08:29

Sad to hear he is gone, but he had been very ill for quite a long time. I saw him in a concert a good 5-7 years ago and he was already finding difficult to keep up with commitments as his health was quite poor, although I don't know if pancreatic cancer was the cause of his poor health at that time.

No! I guess he had it coming with all his health problems. That's a great pity.
