If you was Katie Prices friend

Just been reading through the tabloids of late and at the moment Katie Price seems to be making a spectacular downward spiral . It's become a daily topic at lunch as a new story pops up .
We got to talking about mental health and friendships and loved ones . Times needed abit of guidance or times we had stepped in to help others .

Watching her unravel like this so sad to see , she's clearly got a lot of deep rooted issues .
If you was her friend would you be stepping in to help her ? And if so how ?

I would stage an intervention. Any decent friend would be doing this. She has an exceptional amount of pressure and burden. Harvey going into residential care and her mother's terminal illness. She needs urgent help. Anyone who posts about her appearance or sneers is an extremely unkind person. ITV should also be ashamed of themselves. It's highly likely she will kill herself if she carries on, shame on those mocking mental health and vulnerability.

I have no interest in this thread or KP but @cdtaylornats that's unnecessary and mean.

Oh fuck the fuck off grammar snobs! You aren't big and you aren't clever.

Leakinglikeacolander · 01/09/2019 13:06

@Rachelover40 and @cdtaylornats
Shame on you both!

To answer your question, op, I would be very worried if KP were my friend. And I think he life has been getting out of control for years now, not just recently. She seems utterly unable to cope. I think she had a stint in rehab? It doesn't appear to have helped her.

I really hope her loved ones are rallying round, particularly to help with the children, who do not deserve to be brought up in chaos. I agree with you - all very concerning.

Leakinglikeacolander · 01/09/2019 13:35

I don't think she is likely to listen to anyone, isn't her mum very ill? If she can't get through to her I don't think anyone can.

NannaNoodleman · 01/09/2019 13:49

Are mumsnetters required to have achieved a certain level of education to post? And as a PP says, poor grammar isn't an indication of academic achievement.

People who jump in with "witty putdowns" about someone's intelligence are just making themselves look stupid and ignorant and vulgar.

Rainonmyguitar · 01/09/2019 15:52

i'd ask her to fund my English lessons

Best get some for yourself as well. You forgot the full stop at the end of your sentence.

PurpleDaisies · 01/09/2019 15:54

cdtaylornats you’ve forgotten sentences need to start with a capital letter and end with a full stop.

No need to be nasty about OP's mistake. The question is a good one.

I think I would try and get her to read Nathaniel Bardon's six pillar's of self esteem.

It's hard for anyone to voice their concerns about another person's mental health. I'd like to think I'd subtly try to help any friend in that situation but I'm usually very blunt so would probably cause more harm.

I know it's quite horrible to say but when I saw her in a magazine after her latest surgery I thought she is clearly addicted and will probably die of some surgery or related to recovery from surgery.
She is clearly extremely insecure and needs a man to ask her to marry her but then she gets married and it's not what she expects . The surgery is worrying too what sort of message is she giving to her children .
Tbh I couldn't be friends with someone so insecure I think it would be draining to reassure her and tell her not to have surgery and for her to go ahead anyway .

Chloemol · 01/09/2019 16:12

But surely that’s the point, she doesn’t have any true friends, just hangers on wanting thier two minutes of fame on her tv show, pictures on the paper or whatever.

couchparsnip · 01/09/2019 16:16

Leaving aside the fact that her views would mean I could never be her friend, if one of my friends started acting that way I would be concerned yes.

This post made me Google KP to find out what's going on. Grin
What has she done to her face? It looks terrible. Sad

If I were her friend, I ask her what she'd like to be doing in five years and start planning how she can achieve those goals.

Aposterhasnoname · 01/09/2019 16:23

Yes dear I think you probably should. “I” is always capitalised, and you forgot your full stop.

AmICrazyorWhat2 · 01/09/2019 16:23

*I'd

Leakinglikeacolander · 01/09/2019 16:35

@FabulouslyGlamorousFerret If it's a list you are proud to be part of, knock yourself out sweet cheeks.Hmm
