the body of a man has been found in woodland near our home!

We saw the police and the men in forensic white suits and a tent and everything.

poor man.

I hope it was a heart attack and nothing more sinister.

jabberwocky · 31/07/2007 22:36

eek! bizarrely it reminds me of that Hitchcock movie where there was a dead body in the woods or something and people kept walking around him, etc all through the movie.

I live quite near you collision & would have said the same, but there have been quite a few incidents over the last couple of years - the murder of two teenage boys (friends of DD's bf) by another slightly older boy, two other school knifings, the school caretaker who murdered his wife...
I don't think you can count on anywhere being a 'nice quiet neighbourhood' anymore

Smithy · 31/07/2007 22:42

I drove past the area this afternoon and saw the incident vehicle, police and forensic man in white suit. Wondered what was going on - now I know. Bit worrying isn't it. Hopefully it's nothing nasty and the man didn't suffer if it was a heart attack or something. You don't expect something to happen where you live tho' do you?!

collision · 31/07/2007 22:42

Charliecat...could you type out for me how you did the link to that page please?

I just dont know how to do it!

DH was off work today and said he saw the helicopter circling and then the cul de sac where we live was swarming with police!

i missed it all.

Ooh errr! Where?! Got me worried now~!

collision · 31/07/2007 22:53

Am not sure but you do look familiar!

Whitegrove Library?
Sandy Lane Primary?
Tesco?
Sainsburys?

Will have to have a think! dont worry tho as I am very nice!!!

Smithy · 31/07/2007 22:55

Probably Tesco or Sainsburys as I do seem to spend a lot of time there! I'm the stressed looking one usually searching for one of my boys who has wandered off!

charliecat · 01/08/2007 08:52

collision, all i did was copy and pasted the link from the bbc page and put at the front and at the end..

Surprised none of you locals mentioned Broadmoor - after all it is on our door step as it were (ok perhaps it is a few miles away from places like Warfield), but certainly where I live I hear the Monday 10am test siren.

I've lived in the Berkshire/Surrey border area for a good many years now, and crime in general seems low... so East Berkshire can't be that bad an area to live in general, though of course ever area has it's crime hotspots.
