This story made me feel v today, in the Mirror (sorry cant do link) all about the soldiers walking in on an orphanage in Iraq where starving little boys were all lying on the concrete dying in the 120F heat.
in the same building their food was being stashed away ready to be sold on for profit..the poor children were like skeletons and covered in their own faeces etc and tied up to the walls.
States all the soldiers were in tears on making their horrible discovery.
Most of the children were too traumatised to talk or move.

Lilymolly how do you suggest I and others avoid reading this thread title? It has been bumped into active convos 51 times so far today (and they weren't all me)

you cant avoid the thread title, but just ignore it and click on something more that interests you instead.

There are loads of things that annoy/distress me, like the recent tragic events in portugal, but I managed to avoid these threads and engage in threads where I enjoy taking part in a discussion

i dont want to be appraised of world events - they upset me

yes indeed.

southeastastra · 21/06/2007 22:20

I think Franny has a point.
