A man who works for The Sun was just on TV and said if someone but bear baiting on TV someone would watch it, doesnt mean it need to be shown. A good point i think, didnt think i owuld ever agree with a Sun reporter!!!!

similar to an article in the Daily Mail (saturday I think, and NO I don't buy it... my mum does...) about when Camilla lost her virginity! Some very dubious double speak about why it was in the public interest that they speculate about it...

No ...and not just Diana anyones mum, daughter, friend , relation etc

Yes Rosa, i completely agree. I wonder how the channel 4 people would feel if it was on them. Its just disgusting. Let the poor women RIP, and let her family move on.

It always makes me wonder how her sons cope with all this hype around her death.
Every year this comes up.
Yes it was very sad, tragic, horrible whatever but a line needs to be drawn somewhere.

I had heard that the actual death isn't shown, why should it be, what would there be to see, what's the point?

kittypants · 05/06/2007 14:05

no,why would anyone?

C4 say there are no images in which anyone either dead or dying can be seen.

So...similar to watching imagery of 9/11 or ( and possibly not even as bad as) crabing your neck to see as you drive past a RTA...

is there a programme on then?

her death was inhospital I thought?

Is it the car crash that they are going to show?

Report
JoolsToo · 05/06/2007 14:06

apparently

BeatrootandBenedick · 05/06/2007 14:08

wow how enertaining - must not forget to set the video - can we also see Elivis die in the bath?

Report
sarz · 05/06/2007 14:10

yes it will be the images of the car after the crash but which she is still in, they say you cant see her face, and thats why they say it is ok.
Tigana, i couldnt watch the 9/11 images either.

no - how sad to watch reality TV at its lowest level!

Report
PetronellaPinkPants · 05/06/2007 14:11

I don't want to see her full stop!

sarz · 05/06/2007 14:11

Beatroot, if you watch the late night version you also get to watch Paula Yates stoned literally to death when her daughter finds her.

Apparently the pic they are using has already appeared on the front page of The Sun, which makes that newspaper's stance of moral outrage a bit daft.

(I thought Elvis died on the loo?)

I bet everyone will say Oh no I won't watch that but the viewing figures will be sky high.

foxinsocks · 05/06/2007 14:12

it's on the same night as the England game so I can't believe viewing figures will be that high

sarz · 05/06/2007 14:12

No. Wasn't interested in her alive and certainly don't want to see the poor woman in her dying moments. Why is it interesting?

I didn't want to watch Saddam die so certainly don't want to watch a mother of two, much missed by her sons, die!!! Why do they even debate this (the papers I mean, not MN)?
