Andrew Gosden missing - ten years

Hard to believe that Andrew Gosden, a quiet 14 year old boy, stepped off a train at Kings Cross station and disappeared into the crowds, and has been missing since that time.
Truly awful for the family.
Andrew needs continued publicity, in the hope that he might be found, one way or another.

Considering how much cctv there is in London it does seem amazing how this kind of thing can happen.

His dad has a well used facebook account where they post about Andrew and also other missing children. It's bloody heartbreaking.

If I remember right, the reason there isn't more CCTV footage of him from London is because it took a long time for the police to track him down to Kings Cross, and by then most CCTV tapes had been routinely written over.

Hoping so much that the publicity around this anniversary turns up something for his family.

I do think of him as I travel around London. So awful for his family. Hope there will be some progress soon.

I first heard about Andrew on MN some years ago. I've often googled in the hope there would be some news. It must be awful for his family not knowing.

Also it just doesn't seem to be as high profile in the media, and in terms of police effort and resources as it should be (and in comparison with other high profile missing children).

I think about Andrew every now and then, it's such a sad and unusual case.

He had a very distinctive looking ear and wore strong prescription glasses, so you'd think the two together might help someone recognise him (if he's still alive). But there's probably a lot of people in this country who have never even heard of him Sad

The first I herd of him was the other day on this morning.
It's baffling. They said he was in some Government genius programme is that true?
If it is I must admit my tin hat poked out.

Yes it must. Andrews father has spoken saying what a toll it's had on his mental health. Sad
Every parents nightmare.
I do hope there is some resolution one day.

This is so heartbreaking. I Mean if the worse happens to your child. You can grieve, but to not have any answers or even clues must be beyond the beyonds of torture.

I remember Andrew going missing very well.
I think about him every so often and wonder how a boy his age can just completely vanish.
So heartbreaking for his family Sad

Fourteen is no age to be in London alone. I hope things worked out for Andrew, wherever he is.

I do so hope he is ok.
No mention of his Mum in that BBC article except at the start they give her name.
No photograph of her either in the article.
His dad and sister are quoted.
I do not know how people cope with living when a loved one disappears.

This is so very sad, I presume he bought a one way ticket as home wasn't good - albeit it may have been school and bullying, pressure, anxiety or such, he's actively gone. Without thought of returning. My fear would be that he was groomed and he's been taken by some type of criminal ring - I really hope this is solved.
Saying that I guess there are so many other cases like this which are never solved - so sad and distressing for the family

I remember a case where a lad did similar- he just wanted to go off and have some sort of adventure. He did return though. I forget the details but there wasn't any real 'reason', he just wanted to have an experience away from home.

Someone left a message on the intercom at Leominster police station in 2008 saying they had information about Andrew. He then disappeared. What I do not understand is that Leominster police station and other parts of Leominster, must have had CCTV cameras, so they must have seen who left the message, but they do not appear to have checked?

It’s all so sad. I don’t think his disappearance was that well publicised then. I lived in London at the time but l don’t remember it at all

I lived near Doncaster when Andrew went missing and there was a lot of coverage in the area. But, of course, we were at the wrong end of the country to really have any useful information.

Andrew is the same age as my son, but I've had the luxury of watching my boy grow up; I can't even begin to imagine the torment Andrew's parents must be going though.
