I'm with you on this, will be thinking of him today, thank you.

bundle · 29/03/2007 10:22

thanks earthymama.

there are massive posters of him outside where I work and I feel very sombre when I walk past them every morning. he seems to have dropped out of the headlines a bit.

Thanks bundle
I caught his dad on TV a couple of days ago
Really hoping he is safe home soon
I guess his situation will resonate with many older Mners who remember the Lebanon Hostages and the joy on their releases after too many years in captivity

Spidermama · 29/03/2007 10:25

Thanks Bundle. I have a knot in my stomach when I think about him. I hope he makes it home and soon.

bundle · 29/03/2007 10:38

one of my colleagues is still dining out on an anecdote that John McCarthy said her voice kept him going when he was chained to a radiator..

bundle I take it her voice was on the radio and not because she was chained up in the next cell?

Dinosaur · 29/03/2007 12:11

One of my DB's colleagues was kidnapped in Gaza last autumn and he was released quite quickly, so I hope that the same will happen for Alan Johnston.

DrMarthaMcMoo · 29/03/2007 12:13

Just awful. I hope he is OK and they release him soon.

bundle · 12/04/2007 09:45

please keep Alan and his family in your thoughts today, now that he's been missing for a month

I am thinking of him, and of journalists in peril everywhere.

Horrible things happening in Afghanistan to local journalists and to interpreters, drivers etc working with foreign journos .

donnie · 16/04/2007 14:04

a little known group is now claiming to have executed him. I pray this is not the case but sadly I fear it is true. What could possibly be gained from Alan Johnston' s murder?

FrozenSandwichShortofapicnic · 16/04/2007 14:06

Have been thinking of him all day

donnie · 16/04/2007 14:08

me too.

ScummyMummy · 16/04/2007 15:20

Yes- it sounds very worrying.

jujuthejetmum · 16/04/2007 15:36

really hope this isn't so and is a hoax and he is released soon safe and well

fryalot · 16/04/2007 15:38

Marina · 01/05/2007 10:37

someone who knows his friends told me that the reports of his death were probably untrue, as no accompanying video had been released. let's hope so, x
