Damn him for inciting love and compassion. Building bridges, not walls. Bastard.

Damn him for getting people engaged in politics.

He was even pulling pints and serving the people. Tosser.

I love JC

Smellbellina · 25/06/2017 01:13

Maybe he wasn't invited.

gluteustothemaximus · 25/06/2017 01:15

Bejazzled - JC spent 3 hours talking to veterans on armed forces day, then went onto Glastonbury. He's a busy boy Grin

utterchaos · 25/06/2017 01:40

Bejazzled will you admit you're impressed now? Grin

JustAnotherPoster00 · 25/06/2017 05:42

#Oh, Jeremy Corbyn#

My favorite bit is 2nd verse it goes 'oh, Jeremy Corbyn' Grin

Ceto · 25/06/2017 06:47

Corbyn appeals to middle aged hippies and gullible teenagers

You carry on believing that if it makes you feel better, OP. Bless.

MoominFlaps · 25/06/2017 07:26

Any old crap is put out on social media, with no standards at all.

Bit like the daily mail then eh?

I love JC. And I'm not a youth, nor a hippie, nor I am I far left.

MoominFlaps · 25/06/2017 07:27

Also have any Tory supporters trotting out the same Hamas and IRA shiz addressed May's Saudi arms deals yet?

MoominFlaps · 25/06/2017 07:27

He did, bejazzled.

Wow, I guess there must be a whole lot more 18-19 yr olds and middle aged hippies in the country than selfish, cynical, money grabbing 20-90 yr olds, since Corbyn has overtaken TM in popularity. That's encouraging to know.

ChinaRose · 25/06/2017 08:18

A festival full of modern age unemployed liberal pot smokers, all clad in designer "festival wear" probably there on mummy and daddy's money. Yeah I can see why JC went there.

RealFakeDoors · 25/06/2017 08:19

People who think JC would make the best PM: 35%
Theresa May:34%

Strange how both camps feel the other is delusional, yet can't accept the failings off their own preference. Both have approximately the same numbers.

I think they're both delusional.

AwaywiththePixies27 · 25/06/2017 08:24

Nice generalisation china.

As an unemployed person myself. I wouldn't be seen dead at Glasto.

Oh I have friends who go religiously every year. One a single mum who works full time, another who's a couple who both work and the others who have gone also work and own their businesses and ones' even ridiculously shit rich.

How dare they not conform to your sweeping generalisation? Hmm

AwaywiththePixies27 · 25/06/2017 08:26

I would have been more impressed if he had gone to one of the many Armed Forces Day events. I guess there weren't as many prospective voters at these though.

Bejazzled he did attend an armed forces day event! It is possible to attend more than one event in a day.

AwaywiththePixies27 · 25/06/2017 08:35

Corbyn appeals to middle aged hippies and gullible teenagers. The teenagers will grow up one day.

Gosh he's really rattled some folk hasn't he?

Oh by the way, which category do these lovely gents belong to? Middle aged hippies or gullible teenagers?

Jeremy Corbyn at Glastonbury ugh
surferjet · 25/06/2017 08:40

Glastonbury has always been home to the white / middle class / hippy / lefty type.
It screams 'white privilege' - everything the people there claim to hate.
I've been watching it all weekend & I don't think I've seen a single black person in the crowd.

utterchaos · 25/06/2017 08:47

modern age unemployed liberal pot smokers

You have no idea what you're talking about do you? Grin

Glastonbury tickets cost £238 + £5 booking fee.

How likely is it the festival is full of the unemployed .... hmmm ... pretty unlikely wouldn't you think?

The people I know who are there include a mental health nurse, two teachers, the head of an IT department, a theatre technician, a professional dancer, another IT guy, several people in office jobs.

None of them had their tickets bought by their parents!

These slurs are getting very boring now. Does the right wing have nothing constructive to add to political debate these days?

Alltheprettyseahorses · 25/06/2017 08:53

? Corbyn didn't attend any armed forces events yesterday. That picture's from 2015.

Put it this way, if Corbyn's so great, why are there so many fucking lies from the pro- camp? I mean, if he was so wonderful then the truth would speak for itself wouldn't it? But no, he went to see soldiers yesterday, he's a peacemaker, all that shit. Problem is, actual facts prove otherwise. Well, unless you think the mean msm has led a 35 conspiracy against Corbyn and all the IRA negotiators forgot about him and it was a double ranting about cutting the armed forces and he's so sweet and innocent that he didn't realise that he'd see Hezbollah flags and hear anti-Semitic filth at al Quds day marches even though he went every year. The mind boggles.

Mistigri · 25/06/2017 09:00

Corbyn appeals to middle aged hippies and gullible teenagers

Post election this is no longer true, because TV coverage and especially the debates seemed to be quite an effective counter to the right-wing press's demonisation programme.

A year ago if you'd asked my IL's (elderly, Middle England, floating voters but conservative with a small c) if they would ever vote for JC the answer would have been a resounding no. Yet they voted Labour this time and apparently did so enthusiastically.

I could conceivably be described as a middle aged hippy (since I go to music festivals and have left wing views, when not doing my day job as economist in a FTSE 100 company Grin ) but my ILs certainly can't. They're definitely not teenagers either. Bizarrely they like Jeremy more than I do - I'm afraid I can't get over his lack of opposition to brexit.

My conclusions is that Jeremy Corbyn is a genuine cultural phenomenon, which the enormous audience at Glastonbury tends to confirm. Now if they all turn out and vote next time ....

CaptainBrickbeard · 25/06/2017 09:02

I have listened over the past year to Leave voters explaining why they find it insulting and upsetting to hear themselves generalised into a homogeneous mass of 'thick and racist' idiots. I have seen it stated over and over again that this isn't the way to win an argument - and it's absolutely correct. It won't work any better to call Corbyn supporters 'gullible' or 'hippies' or anything else either. It's a shame that the standard of political discourse from those opposed to Corbyn on this thread has been so pitiful - calling him a creep, sneering at those who support him. This, much like the oft-lamented categorisation of Leavers as stupid, racist etc obviously just entrenches people further into their viewpoint and there is no productive debate and discussion. So as hilarious as I find it that Corbyn has got so many on the right so frightened, I am disappointed that no one seems to be able to put together a coherent argument and instead keeps casting slurs and insults everywhere as it feels so pointless to carry on like this.

Alltheprettyseahorses · 25/06/2017 09:05

No one is scared of Corbyn. Not everyone who doesn't like him is right wing. Facts aren't slurs.

People are clearly scared of how popular Corbyn is.

Certainly, he has left wing critics as well.

Facts are in scarce supply on this thread - it's been dominated by what are inarguably slurs such as 'creep'.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 25/06/2017 09:08

Surfer, in the run up to the election Corbyn was speaking at rallies made up of people from all races and backgrounds. Theresa may was essentially in hiding. If Brexit is so popular why didn't farage or Johnson address Glastonbury crowds?
