Conservative Party councillor racist tweet

PeterhouseMS · 14/05/2017 18:06

Seemingly, the UK did not receive votes from Ireland in last night's Eurovision.

Well, shortly after Nicky Byrne had informed the contest last night that Ireland’s 12 points had gone to Belgium, the charming response from Conservative Party councillor Nick Harrington on Twitter was:
“#Eurovision2017 thanks Ireland. You can keep your f’king gypsies! Hard border coming folks!”

This has been newspaper headlines in Ireland today.

The Conservatives really know how to make friends and influence people coming into Brexit negotiations. Hmm

Wow! Shock

GreenRut · 14/05/2017 18:10

Was a shocking bit of racism that. I read he was suspended for 6 or 12 months? I'm shocked he wasn't put out altogether.

Theimpossiblegirl · 14/05/2017 18:17

Our local Tory Tosser is in similar trouble...

It never takes much to bring it out, does it?

PeterhouseMS · 14/05/2017 18:23

Nick Griffin may be emigrating to Hungary but, seemingly, Conservatives are willing to fill the 'void'. Angry

It is the 'most read' news report today in The Irish Times:

Angry

I'm surprised that so many people are ok with half the Tories seemingly UKIP in tendency.

PeterhouseMS · 14/05/2017 18:53

I wonder will anything happen the Tory MP who told the school girl to 'fuck off back to Scotland'?

OP posts:
ExplodedCloud · 14/05/2017 18:58

Ha Ha! I can't believe Nick Griffin is going to be an immigrant Grin
Perhaps he could take those two ^^ with him...

PeterhouseMS · 14/05/2017 19:06

If Nick Griffin took all like-minded people in the Conservative party with him to Hungary, it would look a lot more crowded than that Brexit poster showing the long queue of refugees.

OP posts:
Theimpossiblegirl · 14/05/2017 21:05

I wouldn't wish that on Hungary though.

The Tory MP probably mistook her for Mhairi Black - in which case - you've got her you fucking keep her.

As well as being a Conservative party councillor, Harrington also happens to be a magistrate and is a director at IT firm that produces court software.

Wow.

TrollMummy · 15/05/2017 17:53

Well let's hope the Irish in the UK take this into account on June 8th because yes us 'f* gypsies' living in the UK can actually vote in the election.

prh47bridge · 15/05/2017 18:51

He has been suspended from the party, quite rightly in my view. If the party had taken no action that would be worth of note. But all parties have problems with racists, anti-semites and so on. What matters is the action they take against them.

PeterhouseMS · 16/05/2017 00:36

Yes, and in six months time, he'll be back in the Conservative party with the rest of his buddies!

OP posts:
PerkingFaintly · 16/05/2017 00:44

Wait, what? Nick Griffin is emigrating to Hungary?

prh47bridge · 16/05/2017 09:18

Yes, and in six months time, he'll be back in the Conservative party with the rest of his buddies!

On recent history expulsion is far more likely.

LordRothermereBlackshirtCunt · 16/05/2017 09:21

Wait, what? Nick Griffin is emigrating to Hungary?

Yes, apparently Hungary is welcoming to Western European refugees like Nick whose countries have been invaded by brown people. Hmm

CrispyBathTowel · 16/05/2017 09:25

I can't believe that in this say and age someone would think it appropriate to write that. I thought at first he might've been hacked. Sadly I think he hasn't. Shocking.

PerkingFaintly · 16/05/2017 09:27

Former leader of British National Party not that interested in Britain then?

More interested in international white supremacism.

Gosh, who could have foreseen that.

PeterhouseMS · 16/05/2017 09:30

No, prfh47bridge. Recent history indicates Nick Harrington is VERY likely to stay in the Tory party. Expulsion is higly unlikely.

Here's a list of times the Tories have had a racism problem and what, if anything, they did about it:

Interesting link peterhouse. I've tweeted it. A healthy reminder of what the Tory party really is
