For those sad individuals who enjoyed this last time (and I am one of them ). The new series starts on Tuesday, and it looks like a good one!

although kids swearing is vile

Gingerbear · 05/07/2004 00:51

same old tat TV, two extremes make good viewing huh?

katie37 · 05/07/2004 00:52

would you want to live next door? not me

mammya · 05/07/2004 00:53

I think they're both horrible. Poor, poor kids...

twiglett · 05/07/2004 00:53

message withdrawn

suzywong · 05/07/2004 00:54

Looks like sweary woman's husband is going to get something positive out of htis though

Slinky · 05/07/2004 00:55

I dislike both women !

Really don't like swearing in children but on the other hand I would be absolutely livid with someone else insisting my kids said prayers or told them they would go to hell if they're naughty!

Also dislike the Prison officers rule of sending a child to Coventry for misbehaving

hmb · 05/07/2004 01:03

I didn't like the Coventry thing either, but sweary woman was awful. Especialy when she said she hated the kids. And was getting pissed the most positive thing she could think of to do?

StickyNote · 05/07/2004 01:04

Hideous. I really wish they wouldn't pick such extremes - they just end up shouting over each other and no-one gets anything out of it. Looks like next week's will be just as bad

hmb · 05/07/2004 01:04

I was raised in a religious household, and went to Sunday school each week, but no-one every told me I'd go to Hell.

I couldn't help thinking the prison officers were mad for taking part in this, considering their line of work. Now everyone whose got a grudge knows exactly where they live, what their house and children look like and even their entire routines!

cuppy · 05/07/2004 01:07

Oh my god I just love that programme!!!!

How awful was th e prison officer - checking her kids for lice as soon as she was home? How about cuddles instead?

And that other woman - I hate your kids , thats just mean.

Felt sorry for her children though, one week they can do what they want ans next they've got prsioner officer shouting at them - and she was shouting, they dont know what the hells going on.

katie37 · 05/07/2004 01:09

I was shocked by her checking the little girls hair too, great welcome after a week without mummy

marthamoo · 05/07/2004 01:10

Who gave you permission to laugh?

misdee · 05/07/2004 01:11

i felt bad for both families.sweary lady kids were given no boundries and didnt know really their daddy (glad he got something out of it). prison officier lady kids just seemed like they couldnt have fun if it was scheduled. fancy sending them to bed at 8.30 on a friday night when there was a party downstairs for them, why couldnt they have an extra 30mins at least?

misdee · 05/07/2004 01:12

you did miss!! (permission to laugh that is)

coppertop · 05/07/2004 01:14

What about cross-examining and having a 'prosecution' over the game in the bin? Mad!

misdee · 05/07/2004 01:16

thought i was in a court room there!!

here, what if there mumsnetters?

marthamoo · 05/07/2004 01:24

Prison Officer Woman (why do I never get their real names?) was a bully - the way she was yelling at those kids "you're a liar!" was horrendous. She had crossed that fine line between laying down boundaries/being strict/having rules and gone into bulllying mode. Sweary Woman was so far the other way she was laughable - with her idea of fun being anarchy, chips at 10pm etc.

Best line?

Sweary Woman: So what did you f*ing get out of the experience?

Prison Officer Woman: Lice!

misdee · 05/07/2004 01:29

anyone and everyone can get lice tho. dd2 got them at 8weeks old. wasnt my fault!

spacemonkey · 05/07/2004 01:30

i did prefer prison officer woman on the whole, that chav was terrifying, especially when she'd had a beer

marthamoo · 05/07/2004 01:35

Oh absolutely misdee - I know anyone can get headlice. But those kids were crawling - they hadn't got like that overnight.

If I had to live next door to either couple it would be Mr and Mrs Prison Officer - I think their kids are a little less likely to steal and burn out your car when they're a bit older

misdee · 05/07/2004 01:42

i think i'll live betwen the two. atm i live nr the sweary people. in fact the area is over run with kids like that.

katie37 · 05/07/2004 01:44

agree marthamoo on both points,

Lice on anyone, clean hair preferable?

Prison people as neighbours,

cuppy · 05/07/2004 01:49

Wouldnt want to live next to swearer - di du see her little one giving someone the bird and telling them to f* off over the garden wall.

But wouldnt mix with p.o if lived next door to her - she is a bully and is too uptight - think her hubby needs to give her a good seeing to.
