ok, so as far as I can tell they've not made it to the channel yet. Good gracious though. They're having a laugh with us aren't they.

They're apparently off to Syria (presumably to destroy it some more).

They've been doing this for years now (Russian aircraft flying into British airspace and having to be turned around etc). It's a bit of a concern but I'm telling myself that it's all completely normal and fine. La la la!

the airspace stuff is very normal - hence the scrambling of jets that startled everyone earlier this year with their sonic booms.

This isn't their usual route to Syria I'm sure!

They were 100 miles off the coast of Edinburgh when I heard the lunchtime news on R4, so I doubt you saw it in the channel! But yes, the principle is the same.

yeah apologies for the totally scary and at the moment misleading thread headline I was walking through the living room and misheard slightly what the bbc were saying while seeing the image of the warship. Bad kitten!!

They've set a course to pass through Dover Straight, they are 8 ships and two more coming to meet them in English Channel that are coming from the other direction?
