Continuing the thread, and in reply to the two last posts of thread 2

Today 08:15 OhYouBadBadKitten

I don't think it is about Trump taking risks, its more that he is a narcisstic sociopath. He feels untouchable in what he says and has no regard for the consequences.

Today 06:53 fourmummy

To be fair, voters know that all political rhetoric mostly comes to nothing (rhetoric = argumentation and persuasion, elevated to an art from in Ancient Greece). Why do you imagine Labour want to introduce votes for 16 year olds? They know that people don't become "more conservative" as they get older-they become wiser to the political process and its lies rhetoric. So what's different with Trump? Why hasn't his unbelievably unlikeable public and private persona sunk him?

Answer=risk

He is not a ready-rolled, ready-prepped and ready-to-go politician (think Blair's son parachuted into a constituency; MIliband brothers, Clintons). These are not risking much because they were cast in the role when they were made. We know that this is the case with, certainly, Clinton (numerous interviews with aides attest to this; ditto for the others). Voters are doing a risk assessment of his risks and have decided that he is worth something. It's not as simple as suggesting that if someone votes for him then they must be racist or sexist, as I've seen journos assert. Voters are effectively doing a risk assessment and deciding that given the enormous costs both to him (energy, health, time away from family, reputation, financial, career, historical implications, ) and to his voters (risk of being viewed as sexist, racist, intolerant, asshole), the benefits must outweigh these costs. Very unwise to dismiss ordinary voters as simplistically sexist and racists, as many, many journalists have (shortsightedly) done. Even non-experts are very good at performing cost/benefit analyses

As I said I don't see anything of what he says as taking a risk. Because he is saying what many people want to hear.
As for personal cost, he is clearly someone who enjoys the power, the limelight, the adoration. All that is missing for him is the ultimate power, particularly as he sees other true billionaires taking central stage.
But he doesn't have the heart to be Gates.
So, he's going for the highest office, and on the back of American voters most primal fears.

But...
He's not averse to risk. He's built his empire on it. He's had four bankruptcies. Anyone should be worried about the way he manages risk.

"Exclusive: Trump willing to meet North Korea's Kim, wants to renegotiate Paris climate accord
...
Trump said the United States is treated unfairly in the Paris climate accord, which prescribes reductions in carbon emissions by more than 170 countries. A renegotiation of the pact would be a major setback for what was hailed as the first truly global climate accord, committing both rich and poor nations to reining in the rise in greenhouse gas emissions blamed for warming the planet."

www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-election-trump-exclusive-idUSKCN0Y82JO

Oh dear, the utter panic among the metropolitan elite, the nobodies, the great and the good, the high and the mighty, the lowdown and the dirty just continues without end.

The people watch events in amazement and with cheer Trump on.

Who on earth saw any of this coming? The end of all their plans and schemes, the death of all their dreams.

Lweji · 18/05/2016 00:04

Impressive: 7 in a row.

OP posts:
AugustaFinkNottle · 18/05/2016 00:23

Claig, if you want to insult Sadiq Khan, it would be more effective if you spelt his name right.

And it's somewhat rash to dismiss as a nobody the man who has just won an election with a thumping majority, who is in charge of a city with a population of over 8.5 million that is one of the major trading centres of the world and who is in charge of a budget of over £17 billion. Also the man who is now in an excellent position to become Prime Minister in future.

AugustaFinkNottle · 18/05/2016 00:25

It's just a bit noticeable that that seven in a row contained no reference to Trump's denial that he said he could "nail" Princess Diana, despite the fact that the interview when he said precisely that is on record. Squalid little man.

AugustaFinkNottle · 18/05/2016 00:27

I'm still waiting to see all that panic that claig confidently told us was being induced by Farage. So I'm not holding my breath for the alleged wonky-Trump induced panic.

Want2bSupermum · 18/05/2016 01:31

Let's face facts, princess Diana hardly kept her knickers on tight while she was married. Given her known affair with major James Hewitt while married plus will carling (his poor wife) it's clear to me that princess Diana was hardly picky about who she had affairs with. I have no doubt that Trump could have 'nailed' princess Diana.

claig · 18/05/2016 07:22

'I'm not holding my breath for the alleged Trump induced panic.'

Here is the Nikkei-Asian Review

"As Trump surges, panic grows among US conservative elite
...
With each Trump win, the sense of panic becomes more palpable among the Republican elite -- and also among the conservative foreign-policy establishment, which fears that the mercurial real estate mogul is shredding long-held orthodoxies, will disrupt global trade and may threaten entrenched alliances."

asia.nikkei.com/magazine/20160317-THE-LAST-MILE/Viewpoints/Keith-B.-Richburg-As-Trump-surges-panic-grows-among-US-conservative-elite

That is the level of panic among the US conservative elite, can you imagine the sheer utter panic worldwide among the assorted cast of modernisers, nobodies, puppets and left wing politicians?

The level of grovelling will be so extraordinary, the apologies so profuse, the sound of sucking up will be heard across the planet.

Lweji · 18/05/2016 07:35

I have no doubt that Trump could have 'nailed' princess Diana.
Also as Trump is not one to keep his y-fronts tight when married or any time either...
And neither did Charles. I wonder who else nailed him apart from Camilla.
And the list of those who nailed Trump is even larger.

OP posts:
AugustaFinkNottle · 18/05/2016 09:47

Trump might well have been able to "nail" Princess Diana. The issue is that he's pointlessly denied that he ever said that when the evidence is incontrovertible.

AugustaFinkNottle · 18/05/2016 09:47

The level of grovelling will be so extraordinary, the apologies so profuse, the sound of sucking up will be heard across the planet.

No it won't, and you don't believe that anyway, claig.

BigChocFrenzy · 18/05/2016 18:08

re Claig's talk of a Trump dynasty - another indication for me that he's not a real conservative !
Many politicans on the left now seem to have dynasties, like fake royalty Hmm:

. USA - Clinton, Kennedy. Only Bush on the right
. Canada - Trudeau
. UK - Blair, Straw, Benn, Kinnock, Prescott
Our "Red Princes" at least don't come from an imlressive line - e.g. WHY would anyone want a Prescott repeat ? Confused

Anyway, Trump needs to get elected himself before you plan the Trump succession.

claig · 18/05/2016 18:30

Trump is a common sense populist, not an ideological conservative.
Trump has essentially done a hostile takeover of the Republican party and will probably change it forever. The insiders and progressives who used to run it - the phoney conservatives and Rockefeller Republicans funded by Wall Street and the billionaires - may now end up as history, we will have to wait and see.

Whatever happens, Trump will change America (take it back from the globalists) and change the entire world. It is an earthquake of monumental proportions and will change all of Europe, as political puppets, pawns and nobodies will panic as their dreams, schemes and plans are now all over. Global warming, climate change - all over - and if Trump really feels like it, he may even release info that shows it for what it was. Trump will probably reveal lots of truths that were covered up.

Trump represents a new direction and that is when dynasties begin as people rise up to continue the legacy. Donald Trump Jr is brilliant, he has the same non-politically correct instincts as Trump, and being an outsider, he cannot be bought by the Rockefeller Republican elite, so he is the best person to continue the common sense revolution.

'Anyway, Trump needs to get elected himself before you plan the Trump succession.'

It will happen because Trump is not politically correct and so will tell the truth.

The brilliant crator of teh Dilbert cartoon, Scott Adams, predicted Trump would do it and he says it will now be a "landslide". I think he is right and it is because Trump is not politically correct and the people have had enough of the lying, cheating, swindling elite and all of their dreams and schemes. Their media support network has collapsed as people use social media instead and the people can no longer be fooled.

"They Totally Knew: The People Who Foresaw the Rise of Donald Trump
...
“Here’s Why Donald Trump Will Win the GOP Republican Primary,” Baillieul wrote, “How can a baboon like Trump compete against political chess players like Bush and Clinton? Because Trump is playing three-dimensional chess. Or at least, he’s flipped the table, declared himself the winner, and started throwing pieces at his opponents. Either way, it’s effective.”

What tipped him off: “The nerd squads in Washington have to learn this every election cycle, but it’s obvious to anyone without a 202 area code. People crave a strong leader.”

nerd squads is just another name for the wonks, the servant class

Scott Adams

Who he is: Creator of Dilbert, author, blogger.

When he called it: Aug. 5, 2015

What tipped him off: “I certainly understand that Trump comes off as arrogant, obnoxious, and lots of other bad stuff,” Adams wrote on his blog. “But over time, and compared to the liars on stage with him, you might get hooked on hearing his honest opinions. That’s how the New York style works. At first you hate it because it seems so harsh. In time you start to appreciate the honesty.

What he says about it now: Adams thinks Trump will win the general election in a “landslide.” “I no longer think it’ll be close, unless he gets assassinated or something,”

www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2016/03/15/trump_s_first_believers_from_joe_scarborough_to_a_masculinity_expert.html

There are others who predicted it - mainly the real conservatives like Ann Coulter. The politically correct conservatives could never see it coming because they don't really understand the people.

BigChocFrenzy · 18/05/2016 18:38

If Trump really cares about smashing the "elite," why doesn't he attack them as viciously as he attacked minorities ?
Why did he deliberately stir up the race issue ?
Why is he so disgusting & aggressive towards breastfeeding, towards any woman who disagrees with him ?

He rants about Mexican immigrants being rapists & druggies, but he hasn't mentioned rapists among the mysterious elite he refers to, not even those who have evaded punishment for the most despicable crimes, e.g. the DuPont heir only getting a suspended sentence after repeatedly raping his 3-yr old daughter and molesting his baby son.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrialanddsentencingoffRobertH..RichardsIV

He also hasn't mentioned that the richest 20 Americans own over $730 billion, more wealth than the entire bottom 50% of the population
Or the Walton family who together have $150 billion, about the same as the bottom 42% of Americans own in total.

His public rants show who he hates, what he really cares about and who he would target if elected.
He doesn't go into detail about the elite, because he wants to join them in their looting spree.

claig · 18/05/2016 18:53

'If Trump really cares about smashing the "elite," why doesn't he attack them as viciously as he attacked minorities ?'

Trump has not attacked minorities, that is the politically correct press trying to save their puppets and fool the people. There is crime and heroin and drugs and criminals coming over illegally from Mexico and Trump will stop it, but Trump is not against Latinos and has Latino support as well. It is much less support than Hillary has got, but wait and see how Trump turns that round when he destroys the politically correct press and their lies. The Stump for Trump sisters are African-American and support Trump. They are ordinary people, not wonks, and they can't be bought by any politician. In fact there is only one politician they like, Donald J Trump, precisely because he is not a politician.

'Why is he so disgusting & aggressive towards breastfeeding, towards any woman who disagrees with him ?'

He is 69 years old and is a brash business tycoon. He is tough to men and women equally. Hillary Clinton will try and appeal for special treatment because she is a woman, but Trump gives no one special treatment, he is an equal opportunity basher and he will bash her the way he bashes men and if she appeals for mercy, she will lose. She will have to be tough in order to take it, just like Thatcher was. If she thinks she should be treated with kid gloves, then she is in the wrong game.

'but he hasn't mentioned rapists among the mysterious elite he refers'
He hasn't started on his opponents yet. Just wait and see.

'He also hasn't mentioned that the richest 20 Americans own over $730 billion, more wealth than the entire bottom 50% of the population
Or the Walton family who together have $150 billion, about the same as the bottom 42% of Americans own in total.'

He doesn't care how rich anyone is as long as they are not rigging the system against the American people. He has gone after Bezos and his ownership of the Washington Post. Trump goes after political opponents or people who insult him which is why he warned nobodies that he has a long memory. Trump is not against wealth, capitalism and free enterprise. Those are what made America great and provided employment.

'He doesn't go into detail about the elite, because he wants to join them in their looting spree.'

No, he hasn't got one of their Foundations or charidees, he already has all the money he needs. He is not on the make, he is going to make America great again.

The reason Davos, the EU leaders, world "leaders" and all the rest of teh controlled power structure is frightened of him is becase he is going to end their entire corrupt con game and put America first again. He is coming after the globalists and they and their servant class are in panic because their tricks and policies that were against the people's interests are all about to end.

claig · 18/05/2016 19:04

Here is today's news from one of our top former generals

"Nato risks nuclear war with Russia 'within a year', senior general warns

The West has been advised to act now to avert 'potential catastrophe' "

www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/nato-risks-nuclear-war-with-russia-within-a-year-senior-general-warns-a7035141.html

It won't be happening if Trump wins. All the old thinking, the old plans etc will be finished if Trump wins. That is why Wall Strret and Davos and their puppets are so scared of Trump.

Trump wants to talk to Kim Jong-Un. The elite tell him "you can't do that". Trump says he will. Trump is not controlled by the billionaires and bankers. There won't be nuclear war with Trump because he will bring peace and do deals and create business opportunities and bring jobs back.

Even the Chinese look forward to Trump because he won't lecture them on human rights, but will be pragmatic and do business.

Trump will let other countries run their countries as they want. He is not on a crusade to enforce democracy on everyone. Trump doesn't care as long as they get along with America and play fair.

"Bill Clinton Dismisses Trump’s Claim He Is The ‘Worst Abuser’ Of Women In History"

dailycaller.com/2016/05/17/bill-clinton-dismisses-trumps-claim-he-is-the-worst-abuser-of-women-in-history/

Trump hasn't even started yet. Some conservatives on Fox News have been trying to stop him going there. Karl Rove, Bush's right hand man, was trying to say that Trump shouldn't play with dynamite. Trump doesn't like Rove and says so, just as he said about Jeb.

Trump will go all the way and the Establishment will not be able to cover their lies and protect their puppets. All the rotten core who knew about it all and still praised their favorites will be shown up for what they were.

It will be tough, Trump will bash anyone he feels like and no appeals to political correctness will stop him. The press will be in pieces, their bosses will beg Trump to stop, but it won't happen.

BigChocFrenzy · 18/05/2016 20:11

Well, the Democrats seem to have chosen the Queen of Sleaze, which probably explains why her lead over Trump is narrowing. And does she really intend to make her Consort in Sleaze the economic tsar Confused ?

It'll end up being which of the Presidential candidates is slightly less disgusting to the General Election voters, or whose skeletons are better hidden in the closet.
Bernie would have been much tougher to beat, because even those who disagree with his views aren't disgusted by him as a human being.

BigChocFrenzy · 18/05/2016 20:13

At this rate, you are really going to savour that truckload of munchies you ordered for election night, claig

claig · 18/05/2016 20:20

'Well, the Democrats seem to have chosen the Queen of Sleaze'

It is because the Establishment and Wall Street want her. They don't want Bernie and they also don't want Trump because they are scared of them.

"Hillary Clinton is Wall Street’s preferred candidate: Financial execs pouring millions into her campaign to defeat Trump

Wall Street has raised $23 million for Clinton, reports the WSJ. Many who backed Rubio and Bush now support Hillary"

www.salon.com/2016/05/09/hillary_clinton_is_wall_streets_preferred_candidate_financial_execs_pouring_millions_into_her_campaign_to_defeat_trum/

They all want to protect Hillary from Trump telling the public the truth.

"Bernie would have been much tougher to beat, because even those who disagree with his views aren't disgusted by him as a human being."

Yes, Bernie has passionate support just like Trump. Bernie would be the best opponent against Trump and it may still be Bernie because the indictment talk is not over yet. Guccifer was extradited to America and the news was covered up for a month. We don't yet know what surprises are around the corner.

But my guess is that Trump will win.

Inside Trump sources are saying it is worth watching Trump on Fox with Hannity tonight as he may do some serious counter punching and tell some serious truths tonight. I will record it and see tomorrow.

BigChocFrenzy · 18/05/2016 20:30

Very interesting, I'd never heard of Guccifer Smile

I just Googled and apparently his hacking was what revealed that Clinton was using private EM servers.
What is embarassing is that he seems to have no programming skills, but just guessed passwords of famous people by reading their online biographies. An official server for the Secretary of State would have had more security against this.

The FBI seem to be doing a thorough job of investigating, rather than burying it during the election campaign

claig · 18/05/2016 20:44

Yes. I don't think it is all over yet.

claig · 18/05/2016 20:50

A lot may be involved. Libya, toppling of Gaddafi, why, Benghazi, then Syria and the anti-Assad movement etc etc

The former head of the CIA said on Fox a while back that he would expect that some foreign intelligence services would have got access to the material.

claig · 19/05/2016 06:49

The Trump insider was right. Trump has started and in the end, Trump will go all the way.

"Trump links Bill Clinton to rape during extraordinary Fox News interview
...
While Bill Clinton has been accused of rape, along with groping and affairs – and his sexual history with former White House intern Monica Lewinsky is well known – the 'rape' accusation had yet to be used in the political campaign by someone as prominent as the presumptive Republican nominee.

Trump, however, has pushed the boundaries of political discourse this campaign season and been close to leveling the 'rape' charge at Bill Clinton before.
...
Broaddrick said she planned to yell the allegations louder as she doesn't want to see another Clinton in the White House.

'I've been quiet for too long, and now with the possibility of [Hillary Clinton] being the Democratic nominee and possibly president, I feel the need to get involved,' she told the Hill.

Broaddrick said in an interview in January that she was happy that Donald Trump, whom she supports, brought up Bill Clinton's sexual past.

'I'm glad someone did,' she said. 'Everyone has been hanging back and most of the mainstream media won't approach it, but it's something that should be talked about.'

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3597824/Trump-s-extraordinary-attack-Bill-Clinton-links-rape-interview.html

var123 · 19/05/2016 09:22

On the Piers Morgan interview, Donald Trump corrected Piers when he said that Donald had Called Hilary Clinton a crook. He said no, he hadn't said that. He said that she is crooked. Confused

Difference?

Want2bSupermum · 19/05/2016 11:24

Yes there is a difference. Crook means the person is a criminal while crooked means the person is dishonest. HC is not a criminal as she hadn't been convicted of a crime.
