Every now and then I remember exactly why I dislike Tony Blair so much

Like now, when he can't bring himself to comment on Saddam Hussein's execution.

Even Dubya has commented on it, FGS. What is the matter with that pusillanimous creep, our PM? Is he really so afraid of offending someone by saying the wrong thing? Why can't he comment?

Yuk yuk yuk yuk yuk, he's horrid.

There, feel a bit better now I've got that off my chest.

Woooo hooooo, you've all come to your senses at last. He is a mad lunatic, killing Saddam, what use is that, they are all as guilty as him. Everyone single one of those soldiers should be returned to their homelands asap. They should have learned their lessons before.

Is it true that the lovely Cherie is anti-monarchy as was suggested in the film The Queen?

zippitippitoes · 06/01/2007 12:17

I am looking forward to his trial

even if it is only a tv programme

yellowrose · 06/01/2007 12:34

2nd hand - yes but only because she is trying to be the next Queen of Hearts !

(on a pack of cards I mean - not Diana's title - she would do well being so 2 dimensional she would look good on a pack of cards !)

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 06/01/2007 12:39

Yellowrose, that's probably a good reason to send Cheney to Iraq!

Ok, if fighting is necessary, then surely those who start wars should put their own lives on the line to back up their convictions?

Actually I find the idea of Gordon running the show very scary ... he's already f*ed our economy and he just can't wait to finish the process of turning this country into a morally and fiscally bankrupt totalitarian state, with new nukes - wouldn't that make us the next target for invasion, or don't we count now north sea oil is running out?

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 06/01/2007 12:41

Isn't cherie just trying to be queen, what with wearing white for an audience with the Pope, etc?

nearlythree · 06/01/2007 12:43

I don't think Blair actually realises how awful SH's execution looks. Or, more to the point, thinks he has played any part for which he needs to comment.

I really and truthfully think he is hypocritical, power-mad and deluded. Cherie is just a free-loader.

The way in which both Blairs and Bush parade their warped Christianity sickens me.

nearlythree · 06/01/2007 12:44

Agree about GB being sxarey given what he has done to our pensions and the amount he has borrowed. Prudent my arse.

yellowrose · 06/01/2007 13:20

Oh, but I am quite looking forward to all the sketches by Bremner, etc, doing Gordon as PM, with that awful black suited mafia look and dropping jaw after every single word !

Rosk - what we need to do then is draw a very large circled target on Cheney's backside, that way we can be sure he won't miss it when shoooootin!

Roskvawantingsomesunshine · 06/01/2007 13:29

As to Cheney's target, surely a picture of his lawyer would work better?

morningpaper · 06/01/2007 13:43

I love Tony Blair

I love New Labour

They have done more for families and disabled people and the underdogs than any other government

But if you want to hand back your tax credits, paternity and maternity rights, Surestart projects and family allowances by voting in another government, then good for you

yellowrose · 06/01/2007 13:47

Rosk - excellent this conversation is getting quite surreal !

yellowrose · 06/01/2007 13:48

Now then morningpaper, statements like "I love Tony" are gonna get shot down like a lame duck on this thread

nearlythree · 06/01/2007 14:14

Why should I have to claim back as benefit the tax that dh has already paid? Wouldn't it be better not to pay it in the first place?

Surestart has been shown not to improve things in comparison to areas where it doesn't operate.

Maternity rights help working mothers, SAHMs like me have got nothing but contempt from NL.

And it seems to me that children with disabilities and their carers still get a pretty rough deal.

As for student fees ensuring those from poorer backgrounds give up on going to university...

JoolsToo · 06/01/2007 14:23

not to mention the millions of people whose pensions have gone to the wall and the very many stealth taxes that grab us all by the short and curlies

whatwouldjesusdo · 06/01/2007 14:32

yes agree completely with the OP. Pusillanimous creep is perfect.

suzycreamcheese · 06/01/2007 15:51

morning paper ..if we hand that stuff back can we get in return
proper nhs
equal and living wages
safeguard to pensions
and the right not to be lied to re: reasons for war / national security

this labour government is a disgrace nationally and a joke internationally and if all that concerns you is a few quid in your pocket then we know who it is that votes for these losers and who ultimately makes us all losers in the end..

yellowrose · 06/01/2007 16:33

In order to have really really impressed the Pope, Cherie should have worn canary yellow or lime green, not white !

Honestly, Cherie, you really must try harder to keep up to date with the Queen's favourite colours - what will people say ?

morningpaper · 06/01/2007 16:49

proper nhs
equal and living wages
safeguard to pensions
and the right not to be lied to

Suzy I CANNOT believe that you think you would get those things under a Conservative Government!!!!!!!!

yellowrose · 06/01/2007 17:05

But morning, it's not just either or, is it ? Either Labour or Tory ? Other parties exist and one can vote for those too !

suzycreamcheese · 06/01/2007 17:42

THIS is the worst conservative government i've lived under imho
and i lived under a long long one before too...even though disagreed with most / all policies and intensely against falklands invasion (pointless) dont feel it was decision reached lightly, or in advance w/ someone else and didnt feel lied and lied and lied to like tony bliar and his cronies did and still do..

there seems to be such a race to the centreground and now frankly not a fag papers difference between main two parties

for first time ever, i dont want to vote anymore, will not encourage them

even usual thoughts of sufferagettes will not rouse me they had the balls to fight for something truly beleive in
its just a charade in the end this democracy line they feed us

paulaplumpbottom · 06/01/2007 18:20

I would certainly say that giving up your vote is not the sensible solution.

Aloha · 06/01/2007 18:27

I hate him. Really, really hate him. Think he is a murderer, frankly. I'd rather vote for Harold Shipman.
I feel forced to vote Lib Dem, and they are such a bunch of clowns and drunks, that depresses me too (though I agree with most of their policies)

Caligula · 06/01/2007 18:33

Yes some of us wanted a labour government, not Torylite.

OP posts:
yellowrose · 06/01/2007 18:36

Isn't Harold Shipman dead ?

That's a bloody good reason to vote for him then, Shipman's corpse would do a better job than this long dead and buried Govt.

dinny · 06/01/2007 18:37

Labour haven't a hope in hell of winning next election, regardless of whether it's Brown or Reid as leader.
