VertigoNun · 28/02/2016 00:32

I wonder if Trump would leap through a screen to have a punch up?

claig · 28/02/2016 00:34

No, because as Trump says "I am really a very nice guy. The Pope has been told I am not a nice guy, and I'm really nice" Grin

VertigoNun · 28/02/2016 00:35

I don't think he is a nice guy at all.

claig · 28/02/2016 00:39

'I don't think he is a nice guy at all.'

Well, I don't know him. But most workers and people who know him say he is nice, but some people have been stitched up in business by him and don't like him. But the reason he gets such huge crowds and is the leader in the race is mainly because people like him and think he is funny. It is not due to his policies, because he is light on those.

In the past few days, Rubio has been attacking him in a nasty way with pre-written lines, but it won't help him because he is not as likeable as Trump.

CoteDAzur · 28/02/2016 00:45

Well I have never punched anyone, either, and certainly hope you knew that was a figure of speech.

Your adoration of Erdogan has made me feel quite stabby at times, though. (No I'm not talking about actually wanting to stab anyone, in case you are wondering). Iirc you have now accepted the error of your ways on that subject so not sure why you are dragging it back out.

Anyway sleep well so you can hit the road running tomorrow morning with 100 more posts in adoration of Trump Smile

CoteDAzur · 28/02/2016 00:48

North Korea's Kim Jong-un gets huge crowds. So does Erdogan.

claig · 28/02/2016 00:50

' Iirc you have now accepted the error of your ways on that subject '

Yes you are right, I said I was wrong in my judgement of Erdogan. I didn't have adoration for him, but I thought he was a good leader and was amazed by his courage, as I still am now that he is taking Russia on and telling America to back him. I don't like him because I think his policies are bad the more I have seen of them, but he does have courage.

But that is off topic to Trump.

Goodnight and sleep well too.

claig · 28/02/2016 00:52

'North Korea's Kim Jong-un gets huge crowds. So does Erdogan'

Yes but they are not likeable and funny and I happen to agree with Trump's policies on the whole too.

VertigoNun · 28/02/2016 00:53

Do you agree with his wall?

claig · 28/02/2016 00:56

'Do you agree with his wall?'

Yes because it creates a secure border. At the moment, drug cartels are sending drugs over the border and most of it can't be stopped and there is a huge heroin problem right up in New Hampshire due to the drugs being shipped in by criminal cartels. Also a secure border stops illegal immigration and I think it is important to know and check out who is entering the country in case they are criminals or even terrorists.

claig · 28/02/2016 00:58

The cost of the wall is about $10 billion dollars (which Trump says Mexico will pay for), so I am not sure Trump will really build it but he has talked so much about it that he may not be able to back out of it.

claig · 28/02/2016 01:02

The cost of the wall varies depending on Vicente Fox's outbursts. After Vicente said twice on TV "I am not paying for that f*ing wall" Trump said the cost of the wall had gone up from $10 billion to $12 billion because the wall just got ten feet higher.

var123 · 28/02/2016 04:51

About this wall... its really a fence, right?

But whatever it is, what's the point in building a wall/ fence through a wilderness that is days from any civilisation? If there is no one to patrol it, then anyone who wants to will just bring a ladder or a chain saw and climb over it or cut hole. It would slow them down but not stop them.

I can see the point of a barrier where you can police it. It would slow intruders long enough to allow you to catch them, but this border is several thousand miles long. To build a wall, you'd have to first build the roads to bring the construction materials in and so, all you'd be doing in creating new places for people to cross with easier paths to the border.

Surely I can't be the first person that this has occurred to? It doesn't make sense without being able to answer those questions.

I don't know why anyone is wasting their time discussing the wall. It is never going to be built.

Net migration from Mexico is now negative, it would cost a shit load of money, and destroy NAFTA.

I believe I am also correct in saying that the majority of migrants now arrive by air.

I'm not even going to start on Trump's tax policies which will destroy Federal revenues and make grand gesture politics entirely unaffordable...

FrancisdeSales · 28/02/2016 08:16

It was forecast that migration/immigration from Mexico and countries in Central and South American would indeed drop off in number and diminish. This is due to demographics, families in these nations have reflected those in the USA and UK in recent generations. Often they are two children or less and the need to migrate is not so compelling. This is already showing up as Mistigri mentions.

SinisterBumFacedCat · 28/02/2016 08:51

The cost of the wall is about $10 billion dollars (which Trump says Mexico will pay for), so I am not sure Trump will really build it but he has talked so much about it that he may not be able to back out of it.

Does this mean that Americans won't be able to cross over into Mexico to take advantage of their free medication? I suppose that could save Mexico a bob or too

CoteDAzur · 28/02/2016 08:52

Of course no such wall will be built. It is nothing but theatrical posturing, with no real thought and planning behind it.

CoteDAzur · 28/02/2016 08:57

And of course Mexico's reply to Trump's claim that they will pay for it was a firm "No".

Lweji · 28/02/2016 11:03

In truth, is it worth discussing any of his "policies"?
Because he doesn't seem to be serious or realistic about any.
So, that leaves only discussing the type of person that he is... But many in the US like him, and I'm not surprised.

claig · 28/02/2016 11:58

'In truth, is it worth discussing any of his "policies"? '

His policies are the reason the Esatblishment fear him, not only the US Establishment, but all of the Establishments across the entire world. It is the fact that his policies are diametrically opposed to the global elite's policies that exlains why they all fear him and are desperate to stop him. If Trump wins, everything will change, the global elite will have been defeated.

"John Howard says he 'trembles' at thought of Donald Trump becoming US president

Former prime minister believes billionaire’s success is emblematic of voters’ frustration with ‘political correctness’ but he fears candidate’s ‘instability’

www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2016/feb/28/john-howard-says-he-trembles-at-thought-of-donald-trump-becoming-us-president

They hate Cruz, but they fear Trump

"Crowley: If Trump or Cruz Wins WH Bid, the GOP Establishment ‘Is Done’
...
CROWLEY: Well, I think that’s exactly right because to Rich’s point, they hate Ted Cruz for all the reasons that Rich laid out, but they fear Donald Trump. And they want neither one to win the nomination because the truth is, the establishment cannot control them. If Donald Trump wins the presidency or Ted Cruz wins the presidency, the establishment is done. It’s over. The control over the Republican National Committee, the control over everything will revert to the sitting president, over whom the establishment has no control.

HANNITY: All right, last question, Monica.

CROWLEY: So they are in an absolutely desperate mode to try to stop both of them.

www.breitbart.com/video/2016/02/24/crowley-if-trump-or-cruz-wins-wh-bid-the-gop-establishment-is-done/

That is why this is such an important election. The entire world's political and bureaucratic class are watching this election in cold sweat trepidation because they know that if Trump wins, the whole lot of them are "done".

claig · 28/02/2016 12:08

Tuesday night is the next stage in the global political class's nightmare. It is Super Tuesday when 13 states go to vote. Watch the shock on the faces of the global political class when they hear what the American people have done, because they know that the day is getting closer to when they themselves are "done".

They have to get Rubio over the 20% threshhold in the states to get some of the proportional delegates. They will probably make it by hook or by crook, but if they don't make even that, then they really are "done".

Tune in on Tuesday night. It's the biggest show on earth.

It's Trump 2016!

Lweji · 28/02/2016 13:25

Not sure why the supposed establishment should fear any of his proposals. He doesn't seem to mean any of them. Or they are not realistic. Or his past suggests a sudden and suspicious change of mind.
Quite often in the past he's ended up at the mercy of banks and his family for bailouts.
I really wouldn't want to see the IMF descending on the States like they have done in some European countries.

claig · 28/02/2016 13:32

'Not sure why the supposed establishment should fear any of his proposals.'

But they do and they aren't stupid, they have good reason to fear him.

Here is a conservative politician, former Prime Minister of Australia, much more conservative than Cameron, saying he fears Trump

"John Howard says he 'trembles' at thought of Donald Trump becoming US president'

If real conservatives fear Trump, just imagine what Labour types feel.

It's political armaggedon for the whole lot of them.
