What do Christians think? Is this offensive? I think it is. But, then I think the culprit is probably CH4, not the Muslim community.

"a claim to Jesus"?

Curious choice of words.

I see your point peacedove, but I'm guessing most primarily Muslim states wouldn't have a Christian delivering a message about Jesus being the Son of God to the nation on one of their holy days.

(I'm not a christian, btw).

So 170 messages on MN is about as controversial a response as C4 got then? Since I didn't see any reviews or comments or reaction at all in the press following christmas!

I had always understood that Christ was a very highly revered prophet in Islam, the difference being that Islam does not accept the 'son of God' status. Hardly controversial to state that?

I didn't mean that this really upset me. My point was that the speech was dull and this was the only thing that I struck me as a bit I don't cheecky I suppose. But not really offensive.

BooBoo's post is exactly right. It would be life if I were broadcast on telly in Iran on a muslin holy day talking about Allah as if he were a profit and not the single God.

To Christians, Jesus is Lord. Heh is the son of God. He is not "Pbuh". I have no problem with Muslims celebrating their holy days when they may talk about Pbuh. Just think it was s little off to talk about Jesus as a prophet on Christmas.

But, as I said, not a big deal. I should have watched the queen. Would have been more fun to watch her speak without moving her top lip. How does she do that???

  1. Would you have problems if the Jews object to the Christians talking about their prophets (pbut) in their holy book?
  1. There were (and I believe still are) Christian sects thar do not accept Jesus (pbuh) as son of God. Would you deny them the right to talk of Jesus on 25th of December?

  1. The only thing that made this s little bit inappropriate was that it was a "Christmas message" which mention Jesus as something other than Lord. But it was only a little inappropriate. No big deal.
  1. Well, I would say that someone who does not accept that Jesus is the son of God is not a Christian. Seems a bit like a poet who doesn't believe in words.
